I see we are linked in the media with can and longstaff. Is this what we ve become.

We have better players in the u23 team atm. Where are the links with Bruno Fernandez and sancho gone? .

United's U23 got relegated last year lol.

2.) 03 Jan 2020 11:00:23
There going to be loads of BS links to distract the masses from the true state of affairs at the club.

3.) 03 Jan 2020 10:18:14
Would you spend big money in jan when you need a new manager in the summer? I wouldn't.

4.) 03 Jan 2020 10:33:10
We should be looking at better players than longstaff he's only a bench warmer at Newcastle.

5.) 03 Jan 2020 11:33:30
Ken - kind of shows the lack of top down strategy. A DoF signing players for the club would make Ole’s future some much less important when spending.

6.) 04 Jan 2020 10:18:33
Ken

Ed has alluded to the conundrum of spending too much in January and leave the coffers empty in summer should or when they have to sack OGS.

The simple answer is to deal with the manager situation now, then build a strategy for transfers. How can we commit major funds to back a manager who has a history of getting it badly wrong at Cardiff when significantly backed.

Hi eds just wondering with all the disenchantment going around atm about solsjkaer, in your educated opinion if united were to loose mid week against city and wolves saturday next, and with break coming up, might solsjkaer be sacked and a new manager appointed. Or will they leave solsjkaer in charge at least until the end of the season.

{Ed002's Note - See numerous previous answers.}

The club have a plan b, which is to remove the manager, they have even supposedly reached out through intermediaries to potential other managers. Yet they are reluctant to pull the plug, the reason for that isn't clear though, and will probably vary between the different decision makers involved.

Previously the club has shown a united front and have publicly backed the manager right up until they pull the trigger.

They even released statements backing LvG the day before the FA cup final, then on the day of the final after winning the cup they sacked him.

To me this means the first you will know about the club deciding to sack the manager will be when you see the " " banner roll across the sky sports news screen.

The best thing you can do is support the team, cheer them on and just wait and see what happens and when. Otherwise you'll only do your nut trying to second guess everything.

2.) 25 Jan 2020 15:03:14
Yhe board gave already said their backing ole so don't think it matters what happens this season.
I know thre is some top class managers out there like poch allegri and so on but I would to agree with tony cascarino tipping bielsa for it I. love his style of football never forget his athletic Bilbao team coming to old Trafford and played us off the park.
Hes got Leeds playing great football with limited budget aswell imagine what he could to do with some serious backing.

3.) 25 Jan 2020 22:19:31
Bielsa could be entertaining, doesn't he have a history of falling out with the management board over transfer dealings.

Hi eds and reds. Firstly happy New year to you all. Hope it's a good one for United too.

10 years reading this site but first time poster. So go easy on me.

I want to ask ed and fellow reds do you think solsjkaers lack of knowledge of European transfer market will hamper club going forward. 3 signings in summer have been great imo so far, but safe in that he knew the players as they all played in Britain.

But the fact that solsjkaer is inexperienced in European market will that stop us from attracting top talent.

I'm just interested to hear other reds opinion on this.

Roys mind

{Ed001's Note - I doubt that is an issue considering you have a recruitment department to find the players.}

1.) 31 Dec 2019 13:15:11
Yeah but eds prior to last summer we signed players from Europe who haven't exactly set the world on fire.

{Ed002's Note - That is because the club is run on an amateur type basis - add to that it is an unattractive option.}

2.) 31 Dec 2019 13:43:55
Devestating honesty from Ed002, hopefully we leave the amateurish dealings behind going into 2020.

Redcon if ole wants to do the right thing by the club then he should walk away now. Show up Woodward and owners for what they are and what life under them is really like.

Why would he sign for us. Nobody else we are after wants to either. I hope united fans aren't falling for this spin of we are looking. It's true but facts are players don't want to come near or because A they have agents who can get them into better run clubs atm. B prospective players have eyes and ears and will not be ignorant to the on going shambles that is us unfortunately.
