Hey Ed002 - Do you see wolves being interested in Dalot now that Doherty has been sold?

Or is the interest only from Villa in a player + cash deal for Grealish?

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from WW.}

1.) 30 Aug 2020 15:03:29
I think Dalot could be an ideal player for the way Wolves play. I think he is more suited to playing wing back than full back.

2.) 30 Aug 2020 20:13:41
Shaps surely we could play him at wing backs. there's definitely going to be games in champs league when we will need 5 at the back. Surely fosu isn't the answer he couldn't even make the fulham side last year.

3.) 30 Aug 2020 21:07:25
Dalot is an odd one, clearly talented. Yet he does pick up a few injuries. Then there is the issue that with AWB even if fit how many chances will he get? He played 66 minutes of league football this season.

Then with Laird and Williams coming through I think Dalot is a player we could afford to let go. Obviously there are other players with less ability who should be out the door first. I just don't see things working out for Dalot with us.

Hiya eds. Any news on Cleverly or Kagawa? Have bids been accepted?

Also, news on hernandez? Have Valencia, Juve or Madrid bid for the player?

Finally, any further movement in Sportings' interest in Anderson?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new of note.}

1.) Kagawa has just been confirmed as a Dortmund player in the last few moments. Fee thought to be around 6.3m. Pictures of him with the shirt and chairman on twitter currently.

2.) Not surprised Kagawa has gone back to Dortmund. Simply not good enough for us.

3.) As above
Such a shame he's gone, it's been known Dortmund were in talks to the-sign him

Hi Ed002,

Any update on the Di Maria negotiations?

Also, with Depay signing a new contract do you see United going after Cuadrado as a primary target or is he Barcelona bound?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Di Maria "negotiations" at the moment. Depay looks likely to be off the list. The situation with Cuadrado is that no one is interested in an auction. None of the interested clubs wants to pay the asking price. I suspect Guarin would be more likely as a target for the right hand side that Cuadrado at this time. We will see.}

1.) Thank you ed.

I genuinely believed the news reports that mentioned United are close to signing Di Maria. I am just going to wait for official news, if any.

This transfer window will be the death of me.

Cheers

Hit us with some news ed!

Are these supposed Benatia discussions true?
And are we really negotiating with Madrid for Di Maria? Or have United balked at the asking price and looking elsewhere!

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what you are referring to. Roma and Bayern Munich have been discussing his price again. They are expecting him to leave and have identified a replacement.}

1.) I believe it is pretty clear that Benatia is Bayern bound. Ed(s) are there any other CB(s) that are now being considered by United? Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

Ed002, any updates on players leaving the club? Nani, Anderson, Fellaini (if), Cleverly (if) Hernandez, Zaha, etc

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - Not much. Palace still want Zaha; Juve want Hernandez but maybe will face competition - perhaps even from Spurs who are likely to lose their primary target; Nani - perhaps Portugal. Fellaini, probably Napoli - may yet change.}

1.) 17 Aug 2014 22:06:57
Hey ed, are we actually open to letting Hernandez leave? Seems like it could potentially be a factor in any negotiation for Vidal, and would leave room for Wilson to get some first team chances

{Ed002's Note - Why complicate matters?}

2.) Haha fair one ed sorry you must be sick of the V word. In your opinion do you think Hernandez will still be in the squad at the end of the window? Regardless of any other dealings

{Ed002's Note - I have old you there is interest in him. I really don't want to be sharing my view about what will actually happen.}

3.) Thats fair enough, i'm guessing you want to avoid people taking your opinions as gospel!

{Ed002's Note - Right on.}

Ed002, Any reason you think of as to why three journalists tweeted (I know) the same thing mentioning no interest in either Vidal or Carvalho from United as per their clubs sources?

Is United briefing the press again?
Curious as to what you think.

Cheers

Hi Ed002. Is there any hold up as such with the Rojo deal? Or have United still not negotiated a fee acceptable to sporting?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - there is no rush.}

19 Aug 2014 09:22:51
Hi Ed002! Is rojo been given permission to travel to United for a medical? Is the deal done? Can you confirm?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - The deal is not done.}

1.) Haha, love your replies ED keep it up!

2.) Yeah Ed, that reply is hilarious! Possible the funniest sentence I have ever read :)

Tuttosport has confirmed that the instagram account is fake.

Also his official twitter page had the caption Jakarta we are ready!

Everyone needs to stop responding to click bait articles. The club is not releasing any information. Even Van Gaal just came out and said there won't be a mass clearance and the press is misrepresenting his words.

Relax and wait for official news if any!

Which club from Italy Ed002? I'm surprised any of the clubs there have the cash that Madrid are demanding for the player?
Also, do you expect a resolution any time soon? Or will it be a drawn out affair?

I'm assuming United need to wrap it up as soon as possible rather than wait and allow PSG or Monaco to move in.

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - (a) Juventus - they have been interested all summer. (b) I can't answer questions about timing.}

Thank you ed.

Its surprising to see United bidding for variety of targets. Rojo and now Benatia. Were we always looking at 2 defenders to be signed this window?

Also, who are we looking at in terms of the midfield apart from Vidal? Any new information Ed002?

Cheers

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - Daley Blind.}

Okay eds won't ask who the other team is.

However when you said depends on players leaving the club, did you mean Man Utd? or the unnamed club?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with MU.}

Hey eds, nothing on United's bid on Vidal? Have juventus accepted it? or flat out refused to negotiate? Could you happen to share what's currently happening?

Wow. This will lead to absolute muppetry if the work permit is not obtained before the window closes.

Any idea on how United are looking to avoid the situation Eds? Are they confident it will be done in the next 3 days, considering its going to be almost 2 weeks since the transfer?

Cheers!

Rudi

{Ed002's Note - I have zero interest in the matter - I have explained what I know.}

Eds how will United get it confirmed?

We need to have a bid accepted for a medical right? can't we check on his fitness then and decide whether to go ahead or no?

Or is United asking for a medical prior to an agreement with Juve, which mean United staff need to be in Juve for the same. I don't see the player flying out for a medical without knowing how it will pan out.

Cheers!

You need a reality check. What the hell is a world class defender and midfielder?

United want to sign players. United have no issue in spending this summer which is made clear by the two big amount signings. Why should United sign someone for the sake of signing and overpay? If we are negotiating for players, which we are as Ed002 has pointed out, then United should and must drive a hard bargain.

We have a bucket load of injuries to the first team and the players just seem down on confidence at the moment. Add to that the fact that out of some of the big signings of late, one is injured and the other doesn't suit the new managers system. So it is completely understandable as to why the Board is circumspect on buying for the sake of buying.

100+ million spent on 4 players, a new manager, a new system, players (especially the ones from the SAF regime) under performing and just seem out of it, also a huge list of fringe players like Zaha, Nani, Anderson, Cleverly who no one wants to buy. We have to sell too.

I understand that signings are needed. Its obvious that defence and midfield seem bare at the moment. But that doesn't mean we go out and overspend on the first player due to a knee jerk reaction. Moreover, how is it United's fault if Bayern are interested in the player too? What if the players wants to go there even though we have a matching bid? Still blame the board? One reporter says we want Benatia, an other one says we are interested and the player isn't on his way to manchester yet. The next day a german paper reports Bayern want him. All this concludes that the Board is at fault? How and why?

United wanted Shaw, we went out there and bought him for a large sum which United thought was acceptable, whereas Chelsea thought was above the value of the player.

We lost one game, not due to lack of signings, but due to injuries and the fact that some players just aren't arsed enough to trust the new system when under pressure. We can't blame the board for everything. They have done their job over the last two windows. Moyes refused SAF's targets and wanted players who were unavailable. January window, he got what he wanted.

Ed002 has made it abundantly clear that we are in the market and will be busy these two weeks. Rojo/Blind will be sufficient cover if we avoid injuries. Remember it was evans more than Vidic or Ferdinand who was a mainstay when we won the title as the two were injured more often than not. Carrick returning would be a bonus as fletcher cannot play for a full 90 minutes.

Look at it from the Boards point of view. You think they don't want United to return to the Top? They will do everything in their power as long it doesn't affect the Club financially and is on par with the long term future of the club.

We didn't even bid for Thiago, so I don't see how this will be a repeat of the thiago saga. Correct me if I am wrong Ed002.

Also, the players choice matters. We can bid as much as we want. Wait it out. United seem interested and if we bid, its up to the player and Roma (who must be enjoying the potential auction they will have for Benatia)
