Rumours coming out of Germany that Bellingham looks like he is signing for Dortmund.

Simo1975

Good. Don't want us spending 30m only someone who is nowhere near 1st team level. Let's use the money on strenghthening our squad for next season.

Rumours of Barcelona in for Bruno now.

Simo1975

1.) 28 Jan 2020 13:57:49
"Manchester unitrd were never in serious talks for fernandes, it was all propoganda orchestrated by sporting and spread via the Portuguese press to force a sale this month. The club are fully focused on the rebuild and will push forward with the targets they have identified for the summer" my guess is that will come out Thursday via Simon Stone or Samuel luckhurst. All utter BS but they will peddle it none the less.

2.) 28 Jan 2020 14:03:17
On a serious note and how far we have fallen. Spurs enquire about Bergwyn. Two days later he his having his medical.

Where as we spend alomst 4 weeks chasing Bruno and we are still no closer to signing him.

The board, The manager, The so called superstars in our team are dismantling this club brick by brick.

I fear for our future as a footballing power house.

{Ed025's Note - it goes in cycles RTR, united will be back mate believe me..

3.) 28 Jan 2020 14:09:16
Tim_99 what rebuild is this? To bring back Alexis. LOL it's just laughable. There is no rebuild, there is no plan. Nobody from the top down knows what they are doing at United.

4.) 28 Jan 2020 14:50:02
I know that mate, I was just paraphrasing the BS the club will put out via their media buddies to justify their incompetence. I don't buy any of it believe me.

5.) 28 Jan 2020 15:14:17
Not going to happen until they get rid of those running it at the moment ed025.

{Ed025's Note - changes will be made angel but they need to be, for me it would be the owners and their puppet woodward but of course thats just me mate..

6.) 28 Jan 2020 15:33:43
Cycles is nonsense. If you are run badly and don't make the right decisions then you struggle. Liverpool have proved that! They've got good owners now who back the unbelievable manager they have and look at the difference.

7.) 28 Jan 2020 15:34:26
Can only hope Club saving their money for “rebuild” in te summer, including arrival of Pochettino and Sporting Director he wants.

Have to feel sorry for Ole though, must know what’s probably going to happen now, so will have to work with what he’s got.

8.) 28 Jan 2020 17:23:18
I also agree Damon86 football doesn’t go in cycles. Why is it only in the English league football goes in cycles, you don’t see Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Dortmund or other big clubs going years not competing at the top of the table. It stems from poor running of the club, poor management that rest on their laurels. United from the position they was in thanks to Fergie if we’d planned right would of remained successful but no future planning put paid to that. As long as the clowns are still running the show United will challenge again for years.

9.) 28 Jan 2020 19:44:00
Nellym - actually other leagues do go in cycles. The difference is that in Spain for example, most of the league I'd so far behind Barcelona and Real that their down cycles just mean they are fighting A. Madrid for second. In England, the quality gap is smaller, so a bad spell drops you further down the league table.

10.) 28 Jan 2020 21:06:08
I disagree if you are a top, top team you will always be qualifying for the champions league or at least in the top few spots. Look at AC Milan for example they've been in a mess for a number of years now.

11.) 28 Jan 2020 21:45:55
Thorne- the difference being that manchester united is supposedly the biggest club in the world and after so much success we should of stayed well ahead of the chasing pack.

Martial was superb last night but for me the game completely changed when Matic came on. He completely transformed the game by keeping it simple, passing the ball, winning god knows how many tackles / interceptions. The team looked like a strong unit again, he just gives that reassurance to us when he's on the pitch.

Simo1975

1.) 17 Jul 2020 12:21:00
He’s been fantastic since we came back from lockdown.

2.) 17 Jul 2020 13:24:57
Yes. Matic brings calmness and he has good positional sense compared to McT and Fred.

3.) 17 Jul 2020 14:23:49
Matic has always been a very good passer of the ball, however like all players in a team game your options are only as good as the players you play with.

Since Pogba came back from injury and Bruno joined we have two midfielders who are always looking for the ball, and who are clever enough to make moves that always mean they are in a good position to receive a pass.

This has massively improved the options Matic has when on the ball which has removed the dwelling on the ball he has been guilty of previously. Matic can only play the ball forward quickly if he has an option to pass to, if the players he is playing with lack the intelligence to make the movements required ahead of time to make themselves a passing option then Matic can't play that quick pass.

I think we are often quick to judge a player for the "mistakes" they make without actually considering that football is a team game and a players ability will be capped by the players they play with.

I think this also works as a prejudice when considering players from the Championship or from teams fighting relegation. Who are often considered not good enough because they don't have great statistics or the thought process of "how good can they be if their team is struggling".

4.) 17 Jul 2020 16:33:38
I completely agree simmo
Matic is not everybody's cup of tea as you know. In fact very few players suit everybody's eye.
But he is a top class act when at his best. When he is not at his game he is like lots of other players, pretty awful.

The blend is so important. Martial is showing himself for the ball more often, bruno is there and always available these 2 things alone make matic a better and much more effective player.

I don't expect everybody to see what i see or me to see what they see. Thank God we are allowed to express our opinions.

Great win against Sheff U.
I know Martial took all the headlines last night with his 3 goals and rightly so but i just wanted to mention Matic.
He was excellent last night, never lost the ball, won tackles and headers and just kept it simple all night. He has been excellent on United's unbeaten run and completely changed his performances around.
He deserves a lot of credit.
With a couple of new signings and if they manage to keep Pogba we could have a really exciting season next year.

Listening to Talk Sport this morning (yes I know Talk rubbish) and big Sam was the guest on the Alan Brazil show. The had Rene Mulstein on the phone discussing Marcus Rashford apparently meeting with Mino Raiola about becoming his agent which is very worrying if true.

Just putting this out there. What about Adrien Rabiot for the central midfield role.
Very talented with the ball at his feet, great passer and is still only 22 years.
One of my favourite midfielders at the moment.

Simo1975

1.) 19 Jul 2017 11:47:05
I'm not a fan personally, I can see the attraction with his ability on the ball. But he is far too languid whenever I watch him. Looks like getting out of a walk is a big effort and seems feeble as well. I don't think he would suit our league and we are ponderous enough. I love dynamism in the midfield.

Reminds me of Possebon, remember him, haha?

2.) 19 Jul 2017 13:02:47
I think you must of been watching Possebon instead on Rabiot Beast. There's a reason why he gets in the PSG side week in week out and it isn't because he plays like Possebon.
Perhaps your comparing hair styles instead of the football styles?

3.) 19 Jul 2017 13:23:25
I still hope we go after Matuidi exactly what we need someone to control our half of the pitch cover the defence and cover so much ground better than Kante.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 14:51:09
True that Simo, but there are lots of players that play week in week out for top clubs that I don't see the fuss about.

I'd also prefer Matuidi - I appreciate he is older but so what, we aren't exactly great at nurturing talent and we never sell for a profit, so it's short term performances we need. 2-3 years is fine for £35m now imo.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 16:40:37
All about opinions Beast. if I am being honest I don't really rate Matuidi. I think his best days are behind him now at 30 years old.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 17:58:40
Matuidi is absolutely quality. Would be the perfect signing. Gets about and puts a shift in. Ideal mourinho player.

Apparently his representatives are in the UK today talking to two premier league clubs which they think are Man United and Everton.

I know it's just paper talk but if the rumours are true (not saying they are) that Sancho prefers Liverpool to Man United why are we spending 100 million plus on him?

I am sure the Atletico fans are really pleased with the circus he's created around him. Straight away i have been put off him. Sounds like he's feeling sorry for himself and is suffering from lack of attention due to lockdown bless him.

David Brooks looked like a top player until he got injured and it was a bad injury as well. I would be waiting to see how he comes back before even contemplating buying him. He has now returned to full on training so let's see how he gets on in the last 9-10 games of this season if it gets finished.

We will have the usual clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus offering us 40 million plus two of there 30 year old plus players that don't even get a game for them anymore who don't want to leave anyway. I just hope that we tell them f**k off and at least get back the 90 million that we paid for him. If the likes of Maddison or Grealish are now valued at 60-80 million pounds, whether you like Pogba or not he is a better player then both of them therefore we should be getting top dollar for him. That's not to mention the amount of money he will generate off the field as well. I just hope United don't get there pants pulled down just because mardy arse Pogba and is agent are crying for the move. I can't wait to see the back of him and that agent.

Rashford has been very port since the restart, his decision making is awful. He keep running in to players when he has simple options to pass either side. He was so frustrating last night watching him. He also seems to have this big time charlie look / swagger about him now. He wasted so many promising attacking moves last night.

Maybe we have moved on and are looking at other options and that's why no official bid has been made.

In most articles i have read it's been said between 200-220k a week which is around what Martial and Rashford earn.

That's because no other club is going to pay him 70-80 grand a week. He has zero chance of breaking in to that first 11 eleven unless we are decimated with injuries. Obviously the lad prefers money more than playing football on a weekly basis.
