Hi fellow Manchester United fans!

Looking forward to today's FA Cup game against Everton. I've been following the site for years and check on it daily although you could probably count my posts over the years on one hand!

I've got a seven year old that has become obsessed with the game and it's amazing to watch games with him.

Haven't yet taken him to Old Trafford but I think he's ready.

I got a funny feeling he'll have a good time in the coming years as from what I've seen from ETH we will be very competitive from next season (who knows we might pick up a cup this year if we can keep up our current form) .

A little surprised with the Martial hate below. There's a player in there and even though everyone will admit he's been terribly inconsistent over the years, I'm sure we have all seen glimpses of his ability.

Furthermore, I firmly believe that ETH can get him performing at a higher level on a more consistent basis between now and the end of the season.

I'm not arguing with the fact that we need more firepower, we definitely need a number 9 that lives and breaths for goals but I can't see anything but a cheap short term fix in Jan which means Martial is likely to play a key role.

ETH has done a wonderful job with a host of players, with Rashford at the front of that particular queue. Wan Bissaka has also played much better in the last couple of games!

Martial may not be a long term solution for us but chances are he will be for the rest of the season at least and if are to achieve top four and go deep into the cup competitions we will need him to contribute and I believe he will with ETH coaching.

I also believe Sancho will come back into the fold with renewed confidence which will definitely help at the business end of the season!

Anyway, just wanted to thank all posted both past and present as well as all the editors for a creating a wonderful community that has really helped me through so many tough times over many many years.

Love to all.

Good man United Forever. We're definitely on the right path.

Henderson is going to come back to the club next season with the back of 78 year old coal miner. Poor chap is forever picking the ball up out of his own net.

I’m surprised anyone is surprised by Martial criticism! The world’s most expensive teenager in his day. Never has he been as good as his debut goal vs Liverpool all those years ago. Yet another instance of Utd being fleeced. He was about 4-5th down on the LvG shopping list. Think even I was on it a few spaces below!

10.) 07 Jan 2023 00:49:26
It's a martial art spenno.

11.) 07 Jan 2023 01:37:33

Evening All,

Still haven't seen the weekends game on the telly but got to say the atmosphere was very good. Was my first game of the season and it's like chalk and cheese from the LVG era (well, the handful of games I saw anyway) .

My brother really went all out, VIP matchday experience, so game, dinner and a little chit chat with Frank Stapleton.

Not convinced it was worth all the money he spent but a good experience nonetheless.

I feel like I watched a totally different game to many people both in this site (fan's from all clubs) and the media in general.

We had pretty much all the best chances and should have been 2-0 after 20 mins. The penalty was totally against the run of play.

Liverpool did get some chances on the counter as the game wore on, although most were pretty routine for DDG. This was to be expected as we took bought on forwards for defensive players leaving a lot of gaps in behind.

Mignolet definitely the busier keeper and I guess I'd take 1-1 considering it was a late equaliser.

Think it worked out ok for my brother and I, would have been an uncomfortable dinner and awkward ride home for one of us had there been a winner.

Our next 4 fixtures are Stoke (A), Hull (H), Leicester (A), Watford (H) . Appreciate it's always had to call but if we manage maximum points, the gap from the teams above us is guaranteed to be reduced as a lot of the top five play each other in the same period.

Spurs away to Man City this weekend. Liverpool host Chelsea on the 31st. Arsenal away to Chelsea on the 4th Feb and Liverpool home to Spurs on 11th Feb.

That would set us up beautifully for our game against City at the end of Feb.

12 of the top is a mountain to climb, this I know. But I think there are plenty of twists and turns left yet. I'm super confident we will be in top four and still hopefully for a title push in the coming months.

5 posts in 5 years and then 2 in the space of a week. #prolific.

Good night all!

After two months, we have reduced the points to fourth from 8 points to 4 points but still remain in 6th, with still two teams needed to be overtaken.
With goal difference in mind, City can be overtaken . Arsenal is basically two wins ahead and to me will be tough to overtake. Spurs are possible to overtake just because they seem to get over that last hill. Liverpool and Chelsea I am afraid are too ahead to catch and overtake.

2.) 19 Jan 2017 02:22:09
Loving reading a post from the sunnier side of town. I'm with you, title push here we come!

3.) 19 Jan 2017 08:51:29
Zany - not sure what you mean there mate. You don't think Liverpool and Arsenal are catchable but Spurs are - yet Spurs are above both of them?

4.) 19 Jan 2017 10:20:12
Liverpool too far ahead haha 5 points in 17 games, impossible, let's give up now.

5.) 19 Jan 2017 12:54:24
Good post Unitedforever. I think we'll pick up 8 points from the next 4 games. And that will probably be enough to move us above City but not into the top 4.
Interesting month ahead though, so let's see what happens.

6.) 19 Jan 2017 21:24:34
Spurs are catchable because they have a history of failure near the end of the season. Arsenal, despite their title failures, are always in the top four.
So what I am saying, if it comes to the last game and we need another team to lose for us to overtake them for 4th, I'd want that team to be Spurs.

Hi All,

Wow, I don't know where to start. For those that have been posting for years, you may remember me. I've been reading this site for a long long time but you could probably count on one hand the posts I have made.

First off, just wanted to thank all the ed's and posters on here. I am on this every single day without fail and as I have said in the past this is my family.

A few years back I lost my job, it was wrong how it happened and wasn't the first time I was badly mistreated by employers. I was recently married and felt a huge amount of pressure. However, I got a tremendous support from the members (and ed's) on this site and that is something I will be thankful for forever.

I have since gone onto bigger and better things and know have a son (he's almost two - the little devil! ) .

I am enjoying reading the site recently, there is a fair amount of optimism and it's nice to see the team go on a winning run.

I think the title race is more open than most people think.

Points will be dropped by everyone so I am still hopeful despite being sixth at the minute.

I'm off to see West Ham Vs Man City today, I know weird. but my brother got some tickets of a friend and I'll always watch a game live, especially if it's free.

Potential upset for sure.

Then, the following weekend. My brother (who is a crazy Liverpool fan - I know. forgive him, he know's not what he does) and I are off to Old Trafford.

I don't get to go so often due to work and family commitments so I am very excited. I went to five or six games under LVG and they were mostly terrible.

I hope no matter what happens in that game or the games preceding it, we stick together and stay behind the manager and the players.

Never been a fan of booing players, especially not one of our own so have been left embarrassed when I have seen it happen i. e. Fellaini.

So here's to our club and it's fans. Simply the best in the world.

All the best for 2017.

Think Rom was referring to the kid from Dortmund. But a fair point on wages Shappy. Although for Alderweireld I would argue we could get rid of Jones and Smalling (unfortunately looks like it will be Bailly instead) in January as well as the likes of Rojo and Darmian. So that would easily balance out.

It also looks like one or both of Sánchez and Pogba are angling for a move sooner or later so that would allow us to buy a cm and right sided forward.

As long as we make room - as in move players on I think we will be fine with respect to wages.
