From what i'm hearing, Arsenal did enquire about Welbeck, about £13m, and because of Arsenals stance on Vermaelen: Completely dismissed a cash deal, would only accept a swap deal involving Smalling. Because of the grief they got from the RVP deal,
REAP WHAT YOU SOW!
For what its worth, I can't believe LVG & Giggs are even considering letting Welbeck go on loan. He's sooooo under rated!
PS: The only plus points out of the midweek disaster was James Wilson (superstar) and Andreas Pereira's turns. Mouth watering. Wilsons better than Hernandez has ever been. NOW!

1.) I'd swap TV for CS every day of the week!
2.) Welbeck is nothing more than a mid table premiere league striker and will never be good enough to lead the line at United.
Football is played on 2 feet and he is very poor as a striker when it comes to his balance, add his poor touch and decision making and I am not one bit surprised that we might be looking to offload him. Only the hopeless romantics can go on believing he will come good at sometime in the future.
Running around like a headless chicken is not the sort of quality top teams look for when it comes to strikers. The only reason he looks useful to some here is that he has more pace when compared to the some of our players but so did Bellion and zaha but they are also never going to be good enough for us.
Di Maria signing is the end of him in my opinion and he will be sitting on the bench for prolonged periods of the season.

1.) I agree Pit Ape, I honestly don't think RVP is cut out for trench warfare. He's pretty good at football though.
2.) We need an experienced defender, Smalling, Jones, Evans and Keane is not enough. Don't understand signing Lallana, too similar to what we already have for me.
3.) Touchet. Danny.
4.) I would add lingard and Powell to the promotions list, we may as well have a bench of youth products than the likes of young, bani Anderson etc.
5.) Agree General. Lingard definately deserves his chance in the squad, but Powell i'm not so sure about, but not against the idea.
Who would you get in at RB for competition for Rafael?
6.) We have varela in the reserves though probably not ready for the step up and although unpopular, I do like coleman.
{Ed004's Note - In an ideal world we would sign coleman however I would rather we sign a cb, lb, 2 cm's and 2 wingers before going for a right back. That's not all this window. I'd forget 2 wingers this window}

Not much help. But I really hope the rumour is true, even though its hard to believe because it's Talkrubbish breaking it.
Everytime i've seen the kid play he's impessed me. He's just the kind of athletic, rangey, powerhouse that we need in our midfield.
If the asking price is £35m. then pay it & get him signed!!

The only player that was on a par wit Tom Cleverley against Sunderland was Darren Fletcher.
I'm a massive Fletcher fan. always have been! But he was dreadful (maybe its catching up with him).
Tom Cleverley has not got the credit in the bank that Fletcher has. I cannot remember the lat time I watched Cleverley have even a half decent game for United. I am a loyal and patient fan, but the player HAS to give something back. something, anything! and he has not. ONCE done that!
Michael Keane makes John O'Shea look like Franco Baresi. He looks like a championship centre half at best!
Tyler Blackett on the other hand looks definately worth a place in the squad.

Point taken, I do agree that it's wrong that he's taken so much grief from our fans (the best in the world) but I don't think he did him any favours by coming out last year saying " the fans jump on home grown players first". They do to any player who's performance goes from exciting to promising to average to down right awful. his performance Sunderland summed it up. . stunk the place out. worst player on the park AGAIN!. He should have "You do it" on the back of his shirt!. again, its not his fault and if I was given the chance i'd play for us aswell. but i'm rubbish too!

Look I dislike people getting on the back of players inside the stadium, but the venom for Tom inside the boozers I drink in in manchester is justified! Its not his fault but let's be fair. he's not even close to being good enough. Nowhere near good enough. I cannot believe Villa are offering £8m for him! Take their arm off!
Anderson, Michael Keane (pub player), Kagawa & Hernandez should all follow him out of the door.
