Hi Eds,

Do any of you know if the 10million release clause in Bojan's contract is accurate and if we have shown an interest?

Also, there are a lot of high profile players that are close to contract expiry, players such as Zlatan, Feghouli, Banega, Matip and Lavezzi if I'm not mistaken. What are their current statuses and have we shown any interest in any of them?

amz_091

{Ed001's Note - no idea and no.

Do you really think we can just produce a list of all of them and what is happening with them all? Ed002 produced a very comprehensive list of the information available right now, when there are updates to add, they will be added. We are not here to give out lists of random unrelated players.}

1.) 03 Jan 2016 14:53:16
I apologise, didn't mean to upset anyone. I was just wondering if you guys heard anything on those specific players. United have been linked with Ever Banega every season, Lavezzi is a very experienced player, Zlatan is still amongst the worlds best, and Joel Matip is amongst the highest rated central defenders in the Bundesliga. There has also been reports that Feghouli has been negotiating a pre-contract with United.

I just find it surprising that these players aren't linked to any clubs. Feghouli, Matip and Zlatan are players that I think could walk straight into the United team, even playing in positions everyone knows we need to strengthen. Add to the fact that they can be signed for virtually nothing compared to United being extorted into paying ridiculous transfer fees for players.

{Ed002's Note - Try the European pages. and all of these players are linked to other clubs - just not Manchester United.}

2.) 03 Jan 2016 19:15:10
Zlatan is looking for one last big pay day in England preferably, however their no interest in him, I honestly think he end up in the MLS in the summer or maybe AC Milan

Matip is ok but I don't think he on the priority list for United

Feghouli can't see him coming if United get either Felipe Anderson or Mane.

29 Aug 2015 08:19:32
Any of the eds know if we are actually willing to pay 73 million for a 32 year old Robben??
Felipe Anderson and Draxler are potentially available for 30-40 million.

Also, are we still interested in Garay? He signed for Zenit last season but we've been linked with him since he signed for Benfica. Selling Evans leaves us with a severe lack of depth and experience at center back.

amz_091

{Ed001's Note - no and yes but it is unlikely to happen this summer.}

25 Aug 2015 18:45:39
Berahino and Stones have both handed in transfer requests. There was talks of Evans plus cash for Stones.

Do any of the EDS know the extent of our interest? Are we just scouting them or willing to make a serious offer??

amz_091

{Ed004's Note - Stones looks Chelsea bound I'm afraid.}

1.) 25 Aug 2015 19:10:49
And we have a striker in Fellaini, apparently!
Here we go again
Remember back in the day when people played exactly where they should , we didn't put square pegs in round holes and we used to play fluid attacking football.

2.) 25 Aug 2015 19:13:51
Damn it, he will be a top top player in a year or two.

3.) 25 Aug 2015 20:07:28
What like Phil Jones? Haha!

4.) 25 Aug 2015 21:25:06
Berahino = trouble

5.) 25 Aug 2015 23:06:42
Eric , like the time we played Rafael and Park in central midfield against Blackburn ?
Or all the times we played Giggs in central midfield ?
Or playing Anderson , who was a No. 10 before he signed for us , as a central midfielder ?
Or playing Solskjaer on the wing ?

6.) 26 Aug 2015 05:51:34
bilko, don't forget O'shea and Phil Devil ;)

7.) 26 Aug 2015 11:16:18
or when we played Rafael and Fabio as wingers against Arsenal - oh we won that game didn't we.

Still too many people thinking real life football is the same as a game of football manager, players are not AM, LB, CM, LW they are players with varied abilities who can play in varied roles.

Fellaini can certainly play a central attacking role, and a midfield role and probably a stop gap centre back.

8.) 26 Aug 2015 17:12:27
but is he consistent enough to be a 20 goal a season striker? plus you have to factor in all the games he will miss through suspension for throwing his elbows in the face of anyone who dares go near him

18 Aug 2015 01:45:17
PSG are apparently ready to let Zlatan leave. We need a striker and he's still one of the best around. Any news on this eds??

amz_091

{Ed001's Note - only that his agent has held talks with United a while back regarding it, before the Di Maria move was done. So it looks unlikely as the deal has yet to go through.}

1.) 18 Aug 2015 07:38:14
The conclusion I jumped to earlier in the window piecing together stuf eds had said is that there is a deal that can be done for Ibra but he is not LVG's first choice. If we can't bring another Striker in I could see us making a move for him later in the window. Unsure how I would feel about it.

2.) 18 Aug 2015 08:31:01
I think he would be the perfect fit for us personally.

he's like Marmite so there will be differences of opinions on here but I'd love to see him play for utd. his record of winning trophies is impressive wherever he's been, just hope IF he did come his fitness holds up.

3.) 18 Aug 2015 10:35:07
Never going to happen. Him and LVG can't stand one another. Would have been a top signing a few years ago, but he turns 34 soon and has ridiculous wage demands and there would be no sell on.

4.) 18 Aug 2015 10:57:38
Rich_1984 - so what your saying is that LVG won't sign a player whos past it, has stupid wage demands and will drain our funds. - Falcao anyone? haha

but in seriousness there are obviously better targets out there. i'm sure one of the eds said that he was a last ditch target if others didn't come off

5.) 18 Aug 2015 12:22:37
I quite like the prospect he'd scare the opposition and would be a great addition for europe especially but inevitably thered be an argument and a big fall out so don't really know if ut would be worth it

6.) 19 Aug 2015 09:41:40
I think he would be a fantastic signing, especially when we have Rooney playing behind him. He said in an interview that he doesn't mind working under Van Gaal again. Van Gaal sees a lot of potential in Wilson. Zlatan has 2-3 seasons in him and will give Wilson time to develop into a regular starter, especially if he's learning directly from players like Rooney and Zlatan.

31 Mar 2015 18:27:13
Read that Dani Alves has agreed on a contract with Man United to be concluded by the end of next week. He would be a great signing to help Rafaels development, since the only actual senior right back he played with for us was Garry Neville. Any of the eds have any information on this?

amz_091

{Ed004's Note - I find it unlikely and hoping it doesn't happen}

1.) 31 Mar 2015 21:03:58
Rafael's 25 yrs old! He should be developed by now.

2.) 01 Apr 2015 06:51:23
According to sly sports Danilo has signed for Real Madrid on a 6 year contract. Suggested fee £23m. Seems a good price for a player who has the potential to be the best TV in the world. Hope it is an April fools, but suspect not.

Does beg the question why can't we identify who we want and go get them early.

Reading all the rumours going around makes me believe that we will not make any significant signings this season. Neymar is as likely to sign for us this season as Steven Gerrard is and Bayern won't let Muller leave with no replacement in the Market, unless we offer a ridiculous amount. Only signings I see are for squad depth rather than starting 11 improvement.

The only player of significance that it seems is potentially available is Ibrahimovic. Do any of the eds know of any players that are available that would walk into the first 11?? (doesn't have to be united linked since nobody has a clue on who we want)

Reports are stating that a Dortmund board member has said that the futures of some players will be sorted by next week.

United have an interest in Hummels and Gundogan and there are strong reports of interest on Ginter, Aubameyang, Reus and Immobile from clubs around Europe.

Considering a little while back the Dortmund board also stated that they are only willing to let 2 players leave in this transfer window. Do any of the edds have any info they can enlighten us with regarding any of the players??

amz_091

{Ed007's Note - These type of questions are for our Euro Soccer page.}

1.) 27 Jun 2015 08:57:57
I believe that the articles you are referring to relate to an interview with Michael zorc.

He was talking about Dortmund needing to reduce their squad size below 30. It did not mention any players by name and no specific time frame. Apparently the daily express have totally misquoted him and even gone as far as to,use a headline "done deal gundagon to Utd next week" which is not what zorc said.

Done trust the tabloids, clicks, views and selling papers is all they are interested in, not deseminating the truth.

The contracts of Khedira, Konoplyanka, Ranocchia, Lichtsteiner, and Danny Alves are all ending at the end of the season. Do any of the eds know of any negotiations between these players and interested clubs? These are all fantastic players that would significantly improve our team without spending any money

amz_091

{Ed002's Note - Yes but this is the Manchester United page.}

1.) The trouble with these 'free' transfers is that in theory yes they cost no money to add to our team but the massive signing on fee and huge wages to complete their signatures more than makes up for the fee.

2.) None would do anything for us. Either too old or not good enough unless we are looking for squad players, which i think we don't need and if anything need to sell quite a few players Nani, Cleverly, Hernandes, Defender.

Some will argue konoplyanka is okay but not sure personally as he is very hot and cold like many wingers. The rest can go where they like as far as I am concerned.

Would love to see Colemen as a signing. Given Everton's season so far and looking like another league loss at City and west ham in the Fa Cup, there will surely be some changes there both manager and personnel, I think Martinez is in trouble if this keeps going for a few more weeks.

Another wish list item would be Laporte or varrane, Koke and Reus and we should be good to go. Add Gundogan on a reasonable fee and we are all set. 2 windows to do it :)

3.) GCU interesting name you mentioned that I haven't heard linked in a while, Koke. If I am not mistaken we were hot on his heals a few years ago but I have not heard anything since. Similar to David Silva in my opinion. I'd like him to stay in Spain if not to United, not a player I would enjoy facing.

{Ed002's Note - In January 2014 Barcelona held talks with Atletico Madrid about Koke and Chelsea also discussed Koke in terms of being part of a possible part exchange deal with a Chelsea player. Atletico wanted to keep him and Barcelona looked to Rakitic instead but interest in Koke still exists from England. Manchester City see Koke as a possible long-term replacement for Yaya Toure but have sanctions they must work within. Chelsea has spoken again with Atletico and made clear they remain interested. Bayern Munich may become interested if he comes up for sale.}

4.) 08 Jan 2015 12:02:00
So no United interest at all anymore Ed002?

Always the fountain of knowledge!

5.) Juan

Off course we are not after Pogba or Koke. We are after the fast and furious, half messi/a quarter yay a torre and quarter zidane, Dutch guy called strootman according to some posters here LOL. God help us.

6.) Pogba must be bought at all cost. He's the best and will take us to the next level.

Hi eds,

With Dani Alves saying that this is his last season at Barca and he will come to the premier league, do you see united making a move for him? Rafael is great on his day, but his loss of concentration at key moments of the game makes him a liability. The only actual senior right back he had to learn from in his career with united was Neville, so I think Alves would solidify our back line and help Rafael out with his shortcomings.

amz_091

{Ed007's Note - No.}

1.) I'd prefer clyne

29 Aug 2014 17:59:38
A question to the eds. It looks like Cleverley and Kagawa are off and could be followed by Anderson as well leaving us very thin in the midfield. Do you see us making that key signing for CM now or will we use Di Maria as a temporary CM and go in for Strootman in January?

amz_091

{Ed002's Note - The club is looking to bring players in.}

Hearing rumours about Carrick thinking of retiring at the end of the season, maybe discussed it with Van Gaal so he can look for replacements.

We need to get consistency and especially stability in this team before Giggs can take the job. This is the highest profile job out there so there will be a lot of pressure on whoever takes over. Giggs is very inexperienced, pushing him to rebuild a club before he's even managed a club increases the likelihood of him failing. I have no doubt that he can manage the club successfully, but I'm not sure he can figure out his own management style while he is rebuilding the club and re-inventing the way we play, especially the way in which it looks like the board and Woodward want immediate success.

Although Mourinho has a track record of leaving clubs in a controversial manner, he's also proven in getting the best out of average players. He doesn't spend a lot of time in any club. Get him to spend 2-3 seasons to stabilize the club, bring in that consistency and then pass it to Giggs.

amz_091

{Ed002's Note - Giggs will not be "rebuilding the club" anytime soon.}

Sells Chicharito and is loaning out Wilson (2 out of our 3 strikers). Spends 36million on a 19 year old striker in Martial (reserving judgement until a couple of games in). Januzaj gone on loan. Only 3 first team center backs in the squad. We now need at least 5 players (another striker or 2, 2 CB's and a winger/attacking midfielder).

This Martial deal seems to me like it's screaming panic buy, especially at that price. He went from unknown youngster with potential to one of the best young players in Europe overnight. Januzaj, Chicharito, Evans and Blackett all confirmed with Wilson seemingly close to a loan deal, seems to me like their replacements are already lined up.

Kaylor Navas + 25million is a good deal for De Gea, which seems likely now that Lindegaard has signed for West Brom. With this deal tied up though, anyone else see Bale taking the number 11??

This is either going to end very bad or surprisingly good. It's 2:22am where I am, way too stressed to sleep!!

The only reason to loan is if he's not going to get game time. Hopefully that means we're getting another attacking midfielder/winger.
