Got a call earlier, but must very careful.

Are the press about to drop a bombshell re. Wazza?

That's all, only time will tell if its right or wrong.

carryonvending

1.) Something in the paper this morning perhaps?

2.) Rooney is staying

3.) . Find out next on days of our lives

4.) Perhaps the sas have found Ed woodward in the Australian outback.

5.) Bombshell? Don't think it ll be that much of a shock if he stays or goes

6.) Retiring. now that would qualify as a bombshell

7.) He might announce he's gay! That would be a bombshell for Coleen! Haha

8.) Rooney to take a master degree in astrophysics at Cambridge, . There's not much that can be more surprising then that
Mik.

9.) Second time rooney has pulled this stroke - he`s got to go

10.) Does anyone seriously believe that utd would
Actually sell rooney without having a replacement in place that would cover . unless we sign big Wayne rooney will be going nowhere. guaranteed!

El Barcelona se interesa en Rooney - Barcalona is interested in Rooney states many of the Spanish Press and Sports Radio Stations.

From my connections with El Barca after virtually living in El Campo Nou. Rooney is well on the WANTED LIST, and the planned meeting with David Moyes will either make or break the 'money to put on the table'.

Maybe a new start for Wazza is the best, personally, I'd drive him to Cataluna if he decides to go, or indeed is shown the exit door.

Spanish is easy to learn, the Scouse Lad, will find Catalan a whole new ball game, and home sickness could soon set in. However both Barca & Madrid have McDonalds, so that could help.

carryonvending

1.) Not a chance, doesn't fit in with their style of play and wouldn't fit the lifestyle their either.

Danny14

2.) No chance. If thiago is leaving because he can't get a game and barca have just bought neymar, where will Rooney fit into the team? Unfortunately I think we are stuck with the disloyal shrek look a like.

Frustrated fan.

3.) Seriously?

Rooney would actually fit quite well. With players like Messi and Neymar who would actually push forward to take his place as spearhead when he drops deeper, and his natural energy and aggression fitting the high pressing style, Barca would get the best out of him in a way we haven't. It's what I've been hoping to see here, especially since kagawa arrived, but Rooney has barely had a match up front since then, and especially as lone striker.

4.) Connections with el barca?! lol!

5.) To the comedian that replied. "Connections with el barca?! lol!
Jealous? Use of a season ticket whenever I want, visit VIP section when I use it, and speak Spanish & Catalan with at least three board members and staff.

6.) Good luck to you pal and can I borrow the season ticket!

K-stand Red

7.) Like barca would let you know who they are chasing! and if so why haven't they told you anything about thiago? maybe your just talking BS! lol!

The Fiorentina Twitter feed is showing a photo of Anderson having his medical. Not a flattering photo.

carryonvending

1.) He's holding his stomach in somewhat.

2.) That's the thinnest I've seen him look in 6 and half years.

3.) I just saw that and he is definitely not football fit and no wonder his struggles. Carrying way too much weight. Hope he passes lol.

This mornings Mirror via tv Gossip states the David Moyes will be 'reviewing' our scouting procedures and those existing scouts. He is like to recruit yet again from Everton.

Finally, the article said " Rather than bring in a director of football - a decision that would undermine Woodward - Moyes wants better and or effective scouts."

DISCUSS!

carryonvending

1.) I've heard Mick Doherty from chelsea may be one of them.

2.) Why bother?
We all know how this script is going to run. Leighton Baines in January and Ross Berkely next Summer.
Mr Imagination himself.

3.) I think it is somewhat of a cop out to blame the scouts. If stories are to be believed, we had been lining up targets for months but David Moyes wouldn't ok the deals as they weren't 'his' signings and he didn't know enough about the players. He decided to go for, what with hindsight was an unrealistic, Fabregas. To sign a player the magnitude of Fabregas you need to put the effort in for months. Sweet talking his club to convince to sell, going on a charm offensive to convince the player to join. Moyes admits that he has had little time to deal with transfers after taking over on July 1st and, IMO, that is why the move was unrealistic. Would anyone have been unhappy with SAF's targets of Garay, Strootman/Fellaini and Thiago? Well yes, apparently.David Moyes.

4.) We didn't need any scouting of the players we went for, everyone that know anything about football knows all there is to know about players like Fabregas. I think we are just passing the book down the chain of command.

5.) I think you are all believing what the press report as if it is fact.

It is normal for Moyes to review every aspect of the club, we haven't signed an 'unknown' player since Hernandez and there are only a handful that have made it at the club in the last 15 years. Like Fresh says players like Fabregas do not need scouting as we all know them, but they aren't the kind of players the scouts will be looking for, they will be looking for gems like Vidic that we can get cheap and mold into the greatest players in the world.

Can't really understand why people are moaning that Moyes wants to make things better, some people are looking for any reason to have a go at him.

6.) I agree Fresh, it is just passing the buck.

7.) GDS - Players like Fabregas don't need scouting but I think it was naive of Moyes to believe we could put together a deal, that suits both sides and the player, in the short space of time he had been in charge.

8.) Our scouting has wasted more money in recent years than made stellar purchases evident by the fact that we could not move guys this summer for half of what they have cost us.

Ronaldo was I guess like winning the lottery but the rest have either been already established players that every man and his dog know about out guys like nani, anderson who have turned out to be poor investments.

Everyone here has high hopes about smalling, well he cost us more than what Varrane cost Real and I say Varrane is better.

I think we would be wise to poach some of the scouts that Porto has as they are the masters of unearthing huge talent for minimal cost.

9.) We could do with some red indian scouts, they could of found woodhead quicker when he got lost enroute back from australia

Just read (BBC) that we were scatter gunning targets at the last minute with even a resurrection attempt for Wesley Sneijder. The article states quite clearly it was an indirect approach, but the amount was derisory, and turned down out of hand (sound familiar?).

Clearly the poster that suggested there was a general antagonism to our CEO hence we were shunned from deals, may now have some sense of truth, if not yet confirmed publicly.

There is now a partition (Which I have endorsed) to ask
the owners to consider changes etc. One part, does suggest that once we have a fit (after hip operation) that Sir Alex considers extending his Board Duties to Director of Transfers or even Director of Football (not a role we have considered lightly before).

I will be more than happy to add the Petition URL, however, I must consider the wishes of the Editorial Staff before I consider doing so. Their decision.

carryonvending

1.) Terrible, terrible idea. This is the last thing this club (and Moyes or any future manager) needs.

2.) Sounds good, I'll sign it.

not sure saf is the man though. punishing travel schedules and last minute stress doesn't sound like his bag anymore.

3.) I won't sign it, fergie has gone now, we move on

After reading the Spanish Press - We are now losing Ronnie for good. Extra 5 years At Real Madrid.

Alcantara gone too

Cesc staying at Barcelona

To cap it all, we hear Rooney will hand in a formal transfer request today.

Bale still on track to go to Real with Nani poised (bags backed) to go to WHL.

So, with all our money, clout, kudos, history and NAME, can't seem to buy the players we need.

So, I suspect plans E&F are now going to be looked at. Baines & Fellaini and promoting some of the kids.
Only my view, but if SAF & DG were still in charge could their charisma have swayed a deal or two, or am I not giving DM & EW the respect they deserve?

carryonvending

1.) I'm giving them til the end of this week before I start really worrying, as well likely have answers on Rooney, cesc, and Ronaldo by then. And I'm pessimistic about any of those three playing for united next season, which is the opposite of what we need. Maybe by Friday ill have my dream team of carrick/cesc/Rooney/kagawa/Ronaldo/rvp. Probably not but ill hold out hope for a few more days. But moyes needs to figure it out bc there are few (no) real alternatives to either Ronaldo or cesc that are available. -KG

2.) 05 Aug 2013 10:38:16
You mean buy the players YOU want.

Whistler.

I've been informed that we are NOT going to play our cards too quickly this year. I'll explain as it was given to me.

Each time we bid last time either some other club upped the ante or nicked the player under our nose.

This time we will do deals, then tell the World after the event and maybe en bloc.
That way, other clubs won't say MUFC need a X type player and up the price or shut us out.

I'm not a Woodward fan, but the info I have states we do have older and wiser heads helping to pull the strings. Won't say names, but work it out.

Hopefully this tactic if confirmed will pay off.

FRESH - Wonderfully written and insightful. Especially "it wouldn't surprise me if some of the players facilitated this".

David Moyes, is like putting a Band Aid on an amputation. it won't help or work
