In your valued opinion ed 2 do you think that united can deliver Ronaldo with in the next 2 transfer windows.

chilly76

{Ed002's Note - It is fair to say that there is the possibility of Ronaldo moving in either January or next summer if a tense situation with Real Madrid cannot be resolved. Jorge Mendes has spoken with the player and the club and he has indeed raised the possibility of a transfer when meeting with Chelsea at Cobham as recently as Wednesday. He may well have raised the matter with Manchester United as well. However, I would doubt a move to Manchester United would be possible in January and regardless of that wages would be a major stumbling block. Next summer? Anyone's guess at this time and much will depend on what happens this season.}

1.) Thanks ed, hopefully we can get him and not Chelsea. Would be gutted to see that. I do expect him to leave though.

2.) Seriously doubt he would go to Chelsea. Though if Hazard wants real Chelsea would probs try and use him as a make weight for Ronnie.

3.) Great player as he is Ronaldo will be 30 in February and his combined transfer fee and wages of approx £300,000 per week would be hard to justify.

4.) I think you can put Ronaldo in the same bracket as Giggs, a player who keeps themselves in such peak physical condition they could play well into their 30's

5.) Would preffered Reus over Ronaldo.

6.) 12 Sep 2014 10:42:38
Prodigal,
You doubt Ronaldo would go to Chelsea why exactly? I think you are believing what you want to believe rather than the truth. Ed002 just told you that his agent has told Chelsea there is a chance of a transfer, why exactly would he do that if Ronaldo wouldn't go there?

7.) If you look at our squad, it is pretty darn good now. We have a few world class names: De Gea, Rooney, Van Persie, Di Maria, Mata and Falcao. We have players who will improve greatly this year: Jones, Herrera, Shaw and Januzaj. We also have young players breaking through with a bright future in Wilson, Blackett and Pereira. We still have some who I don't think are United quality and will be replaced.

I'm hoping that Young will go and be replaced with Ronaldo and Fletcher/Anderson will go to be replaced by Strootman. That will make up a very trim but classy 25 man squad.

8.) Kostareject Would prefer Reus over Ronaldo. Lol something is affecting your judgement.

9.) Don't think so. Transfer would for 55M£-60M£. Ronaldo will be 30 in February, transfer fee and wages approx 300,000 per week. Reus 25M£, 24 year, and wage max 150,000 per week, and you have player for the future. Would not pay for 30 year old player 60M£, even he was CR, make no sense.

10.) Kostareject
Playing ability wise Ronaldo is the man but I agree with your logic, I would choose Reus over Ronaldo too.

11.) Never understood supporters being arsed about what the club pay for players. i'd rather they spend all the money on an aging ronaldo than line the pockets of the glazers. Weve had years of that, time to throw off the shackles.

12.) Totally agree. Why are fans so bothered about how much we pay for players/ wages. If United bought CR back to the club they'd make absolute millions from shirt sales, advertising etc. Just enjoy it. Imagine him wearing a Chelsea or City shirt!

13.) Kosta a very good point, however I would still take Ronaldo purely due to blind romance.
I can honestly say it would break my heart if he joined Chelsea😭😭 oh god I've turned into bridget Jones I'm going to take my bra off and watch emmerdale.😳😳😳😳

14.) Supporters are bothered about how much we spend on players because blasting all our budget on one player like Ronaldo, could possibly mean we don't have sufficient means to acquire the world class CM & CB that we need more at this moment in time. We could be shopping in the 2nd tier market again if we aren't careful.

Its alright saying it's not our money, but if the money runs out then it kind of is like our money!

15.) Beast, we will almost certainly get Strootman and to be honest, no world class centre backs are available, they are few and far between. I'd be happy of we got Strootman and Ronaldo and didn't sign a centre half. Out score the opposition.

16.) Fresh I don't understand your certainty about strootman as think Roma will put a very pretty price on him moving, I don't know how long his contract is but know he signed in last couple of seasons so would expect he has a few years left and Roma can thus play hard ball over price. With regard Ronaldo I would obviously love him back but agree we shouldn't pay loads on him to the detriment of other areas needing attention as he could easily pick up an injury that puts him out for a long period. We could feasibly buy two quality CB for what he may cost and wages wise.

17.) 15 Sep 2014 05:31:12
do you think chelsea have the financial capabilities to sign him Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - The major stumbling block to anyone signing him will be the wages. I would think he might be looking for one last hooray with a three or four year deal before retiring to a film career in Hollywood - perhaps a year or two on the US circuit.

I also suspect that if Real Madrid accept he is going to leave that they may look for a straight swap with Aguero. Don't be surprised.}

18.) 15 Sep 2014 11:47:42
giggs played on untill he was 38, but had to change position and come inside, CR hasn't got the legs to play on the wing for to much longer. so where would CR fit in when we have just bought all the talent

19.) He's be class as a center forward, if you ask me. Strong as an ox, sharp reflexes, skill in the box, and fantastic in the air.

20.) Fair shout Cjmax, and the guy is fit as a fiddle i do think there are many years left in him, and having di maria can only make him want to move even more, let's hope RM keep on getting poor results

When Carrick went home last night he emptied his pockets on the kitchen table. Phone, keys, wallet and Ya Ya Toure.

chilly76

1.) 13 Apr 2015 18:09:12
Already been used further down the page for Fellani unless there's two Yaya Toures

2.) 13 Apr 2015 18:23:41
There are two Yaya Toure's, one was one of the best EPL players in recent years, the other didn't get any birthday cake and has been stropping ever since.

3.) 13 Apr 2015 20:53:19
There was barely one on the pitch, not really marking Fellaini and not really going forward, or bothered

L.v.g. is really starting to do my head in. The man seems so arrogant and egotistical it's beyond belief. I'm not going to start calling for his head but if we don't finish in the top 4 It's open season. I know we're only rebuilding and we've all to be patient. But some of his decisions are baffling and the style of football were playing is horrible. I can tolerate us getting beat if we're playing good football but this tripe he has us playing is unwatchable. I don't like the disrespect he shows certain players either. Not the Dutch mind you but namely falcao herrera and mata. I think he also believe he has no relationship with giggs and only appointed him because the club pressured him to.
to watch us pumping the ball up to Fellaini to flick on or try to take down and hold up is infuriating.this is not the united way.busby would be turning in his grave.and this philosophy he's always going on about is starting to grow old. It's March and I don't think any of the players understand his so called philosophy yet. Demaria is woeful, falcao looks clueless and whatever mata does it won't be good enough. Only for the brilliance of D.d.g. I swear we d be in the bottom half of the table.its March and the man still does nt know his best 11. I really want L.V.G. to succeed and am not just hating for the sake of it but he's really testing my patience.missing out on C.L. Football again would be disastrous for the club and I honestly don't believe we will get it. Hope I'm wrong.

1.) 12 Mar 2015 09:18:52
Your opinion on all things football is actually fine but anybody suggesting LVG and Giggs have no relationship are just making things up and guessing, there have been no rumours coming out of the club, just the press putting 2 and 2 together after the Newcastle game, there are things that LVG can be slagged off for, but his relationship with Giggs is not one of them.

Oh and it is Di Maria.

Players ratings so far.
De geay - 9 world class
Jones - 6 too injury prone
Rojo - 7 continues improvement
Smalling - 6 inconsistent
Shaw - 5 very disappointing
Evans - 4 sell in summer
Valencia - 6 average
Herrara - 7 should be starting
Mata - 6 fair weather player
Demaria - 6 too light.not doing enough
Fellani - 6 limited, sloppy, awkward
Young - 7 most improved
Januzaj - 5 struggling to adapt
Vanpercie- 5 past best, sell summer
Rooney - 6 over paid, yet gives 100%
Falcao - 5 won't keep. Disappointing
Wilson - 6 still learning, potential

chilly76

1.) 25 Feb 2015 07:38:02
Interesting, paat from DDg you see Young as the highest rated player, along with Herrera who has hardly played. You've also given Jones 6 because he gets injured, and scored Rooney the same as Wilson, Mata, and Smalling. I'm not a Rooney fan but given where he has been being played, he has done his best; what he gets paid is irrelevant to his 'rating'

If Mata is a fair weather player, how come he was Chelsea's player of the year? Shaw is very disappointing? You must be watching different games to me, the lad looks full of potential. I understand the sentiment but it's somewhat simplistic to give a score out of 10

1 other small point, you managed to spell a quarter of the names wrong, a new world record I believe.

2.) 25 Feb 2015 08:30:57
AJH,
I just love your "small point".

Chully, (you see what i did there :P )
Would have thought that for someone in a position to rate the players, you surely must have watched them enough to get most names right.?! That being said geay? Percie? Fellani? Herrara? DeMaria? You impressed me with Falcao and Januzaj though. Just having a laugh mate, nothing personal just banter!!!

3.) 25 Feb 2015 09:49:45
Agree with some of it but can not see how you rate Wilson and Rooney the same way and completely disagree on shaw.

It's easy to blame Rooney when things are not going well but i think he has been really good this year and the manager is playing him in areas he is not best at, but he gets on with it.

United fans have an unfortunate tendency to hail every new young player as Cesar on 5 minutes of a good performance. Remember reading on this page we had the next Ronaldo and scholes in Zaha, Powell

4.) 25 Feb 2015 10:21:23
Best post since the Shhhhneyeder days :-)

5.) 25 Feb 2015 11:13:19
Bless him, spelling just might be his strong point. . . . Just kidding, shame on you guys! ;o)

6.) 25 Feb 2015 12:13:26
As mentioned above the best thing is that he managed to spell Falcao and Januzaj correct, the 2 names most people struggle to spell right on here!

Spelling mistakes and meaningless marks out of 10, my favourite. The marks for Rooney made me laugh, he gets 6 because he is overpaid but gives 100%. the same as Jones! As much as people hate to see Fellaini doing well because it's 'not the United way' he has been brilliant almost every time he has played this season.

7.) 25 Feb 2015 17:03:19
Chilly mate, I'm only joking re the spelling, it's been bit of a theme for a while now. I've been spelling Herrera wrong all year

Everybody is reading to much into this demaria interview. The interview was done for a french football magazine.when he said he nearly joined p.s.g. and that every player would like to play in the French league I believe he was only being polite. Even stevie wonder could see United are twice as big as p.s.g.

chilly76

1.) About time someone talked some sense about the situation!

22 Sep 2014 18:30:09
Alot of people saying rojo is a liability. Very harsh i.m.o. I remember evra and vidic were very poor in their first few matches. It ll take the kid a few games to adjust to the speed of the prem.this season is not about winning the league. Its about turning a corner qualifying for the champions and then pushing off again and competing for titles. Patience is needed.

chilly76

1.) He isn't playing in his position and he needs time to adjust to a League that is more physical and more competitive than Portugal. He has great ability so I am sure he will come good.

2.) Rojo will turn out to be an excellent CB IMO.

3.) Yeah, quite what Argentina were thinking of playing the lad in the FIFA World Cup Final I do not know. He's clearly not up to Prem football.

I personally would give it to januzaj. The kids going to be a star. And before people say about the pressure of the jersey. Nothing fazes this kid. It ll only improve him. Keep it to yourself but one day he s going to win a ballin dore.

Hope so he's class. Put Ramos beside him and now were talkin. Then put coleman at right back. Either shaw or blind at left back. If madrid keep messin around with us over De Gea we should hold him to his contract. Let him off for nothing next year. Be worth it to let then know we won't be bullied.Even if he does go in order for us to get Ramos we still got a world class operator in Valdes. Now that's a mean defence. We should take a leaf out of Daniel levies book. No one wants to deal with him, he won't be bullied and when he does sell he sells for well over his players worth.Make Madrid etc.think twice about stealing our players.

Dieg ho ho get a life. Of course were all worried. Nearly 3 weeks ago woodward told us we could break theworld transfer record . To watch this space. Yet nothing. We lost 3 defenders and bought one and his injured. I think we have a right to worry. You were prob argueing that moyes should have got more time last year.wish people would stop beingso righteous and realise we could have a major problem unless we invest
