Y’all are really debating whether DVB is good or not? He’s had the same amount of minutes on the pitch as Ole has trophies as a manager. Fair play if he had a run of 4-5 games in a row and was awful but his 5-10 mins cameos or starting in a team of youth in cup games aren’t really the best measuring stick.
There wasn’t a massive queue for his signature but it did look like he was nailed on for Real at one point before Utd swooped in and signed him. Even 6 months after he signed and leading up to the Jan window when his agent was already hawking him around as he was desperate to leave there were 3-4 clubs which were credited with an interest.
No one knows why Ole doesn’t trust him, we can only guess. I’d say he thinks he’s not defensive enough in Ole’s opinion to play in the ‘double pivot’ but you would think in games that you’re expecting close to 70% of the possession that it wouldn’t be a problem but it doesn’t seem like it. Ole won’t even trust him enough to give Fernandes a rest once in a while so don’t see how he’ll ever get a game. So at this point it’s better to sell him for whatever amount you can get and try to replace him with someone will at least play.

I think we were more debating why Ole might not be playing him rather than be tearing him a new one over it every time he doesn’t play. Because clearly he is a better player than any of our other players in that position.

2.) 24 Aug 2021 09:32:46
Ole is an idiot.
If Donny was called Donny Smith or some English game he will play every single game.
It's always going to be hard from someone coming from the Dutch league and adapt here.
Ole has not given him any help whatsoever. He had high praise from a club legend in Van Der Sar. He was Ajax schooled.
There is a player there, and better than Fred and Matic.
Donny would thrive, thrive in the current setup.
Pogba, Bruno, Donny, Cavani, Greenwood, (Mata too) have some sort of footballing brains that a lot of our players don't.
I don't see how Donny doesn't work out with regular gametime.

3.) 24 Aug 2021 09:39:49
I agree I hate this fan base he’s had from somewhere. Every time I’ve seen him it’s been pretty obvious why he’s sub . I’ve read posts about how unfair he’s being treated, do me a favour, he’s on obscene amounts of money to perform in training to warrant a starting place . I’ve seen nothing in him to suggest he’s good enough to warrant this hype .

I’m not a Utd fan, from what (albeit v little tbf) of united I've seen this season, OGS doesn’t have an attacking plan. It’s all about counter attacking at speed, but mostly lumping the ball forward and relying on your forwards to make something happen. There doesn’t seem to be an attacking style of play, in terms of movement and passing, which seems to be which you struggle to break down a low block.
As a Chelsea fan, i had the same concerns early on in Tuchel’s reign as it seemed to be 100% focused on defence with v little on attack (whereas with Frank, there seemed to be ‘some’ kind of forward play)
The weirdest thing is I’m happy for OGS to sign a 3 year extension. Yes you came second but actually I don’t actually worry about you guys despite finishing lower than you.

Okay then. Nice to know.

2.) 29 May 2021 05:16:06
Fuser

Yes I would imagine most opposition fans will be happy to see as many years as possible with Ole in charge. The United board, the gift that keeps on giving, not to Utd fans but to all the fans of other clubs.

We don’t lump the ball up, we do work it to about 30 yards out and then pass inside, fingers crossed Bruno or Pogba creates something, otherwise it is a dull, boring repeat session. We don’t cross a ball, don’t manipulate the full back to get behind a defence, so as we saw with Villarreal who easily sussed our only option and Ole didn’t have a clue what to do.

3.) 29 May 2021 06:27:41
I wonder if many united fans go to other team pages and obsess over other teams and their styles…

I am so relieved that you’re not worried @fuser. Good 4 u!

4.) 29 May 2021 09:01:11
Tuchel is fenomenal, losing to Villa and being lucky enough to still get top 4 is surely the way to go!

5.) 29 May 2021 09:10:13
Trololo

Would you have been pleased to get top four, in the FA Cup final and European Cup Final after a few months in charge, taking over a team in a mess? Given we in effect finished 17th in the Champions League and have had three years of dross forgive me for wishing we had Tuchel instead of Ole.

6.) 29 May 2021 09:20:29
@Trololo hahahahahaha good one buddy! i was just thinking the same thing and wondering if i missed something, because i don't know how tuchel started to be considered as the best in the world lollllll

I mean Pep i get, and klopp and nagalesman's teams play really well from what i hear, but Tuchel he had gazillion bucks and Neymar and mbappe and how many trebles did he win?

I know i may sound harsh and i will admit that i haven't seen his teams an awful lot but jeeeeeeez.

7.) 29 May 2021 11:02:42
Red Man he might finish not winning anything and lower than us in league.
Also, he lost title for PSG this season, which is why he was fired.
I would argue if they were that much worse with Lampard than with Tuchel.
Im not saying i'm 100% satisfied with our current situation, but I wouldn't go near Tuchel.

8.) 29 May 2021 11:03:58
Thanks Raconteur, I totally agree.
I watched a bit of Dortmund and PSG and I can't say they were anything special.

9.) 29 May 2021 13:52:06
He took over Chelsea when they were 9th. He finished 4th and has gotten to two major finals. that's a good second half to the season.

In comparison, Ole took over when we were 6th and finished 6th, and that was good enough apparently?

Tuchel is a quality coach who has changed and improved this Chelsea side in a very short space of space. Again in comparison, we will see our manager take charge in his 4th campaign and we still look like strangers on the pitch.

It's crazy, it seems to be the fans who back Ole who have no time for Tuchel? Trololo, you didn't see anything special about Dortmund or PSG? What about Cardiff and Molde?

10.) 29 May 2021 15:07:22
i mean he did win the league titles back to back while incharge there.

And i can't remember who was leading psg when we knocked em out of the champs league with Ole just havin taken the charge at united.

Oh memory, you trickster mistress :D.

11.) 29 May 2021 16:17:29
Mumbles you should really try reading what I post.
I didn't say I was satisfied with Ole, I said Tuchel isn't anything special and he really isnt.
If he doesn't win CL he will be labeled as a loser manager, as he lost 2 CL finals and final vs Leicester.
Ole took over when we were 6th and now we are 2nd, why don't you look at it like that?

{Ed014's Note - what are you labelled if you lose 4 semi finals, a final and get a club relegated?

12.) 29 May 2021 16:18:37
I do cheer for Chelsea to win though, just to put it out.

13.) 29 May 2021 16:31:31
Interesting tuchel lost his old team the title 6 months after he left. he's also managed to get to back to back champions league finals with 2 teams!

Not saying he's the next big thing but certainly better than our manager. Also managed to stamp his identity on chelsea and get players that were seen as not wanted under lamps playing well within 6 months.

Not bad if u ask me, considering in our squad our manager manages to get performances out of about 15 of them.

Also has ole managed to get 90mins of football out of the team since he's been there?

14.) 29 May 2021 17:04:49
Trololo, apologies I just assumed. How would you sum up our own managers tenure so far and where do you think he can take us?

15.) 29 May 2021 18:10:28
me too @trololo come on chelskisssss!

16.) 29 May 2021 17:11:05
Again, Ed, I never compared Tuchel to Ole, I just said he isn't anything special.
If you want to compare, Ole finished 2nd, Tuchel 4th, while getting fired at PSG. He got to 2 finals, lost 1, if he loses a 2nd, he will be labeled as loser, same as Ole for his semi finals and finals achievement.
W16 check the amount of points and table placement while Tuchel was in charge.
Again, I wasnt comparing the two, I was saying I don't rate Tuchel as top manager at all.

{Ed014's Note - I asked you what you’d call a manager who has lost 4 semi finals a final and got a club relegated.

Made no mention of a comparison fella, so what’s the answer?

17.) 29 May 2021 17:27:47
Lemme ask klopp ed! he did lose what 6 or 7 finals before he won one, I'm sure you'd agree losing 6 or 7 finals is far worse than losing 4 semis right? . i'll get right back to you!

{Ed014's Note - fella if you want to put other managers down to make yours seem better, knock yourself out! 🤦‍♂️

18.) 29 May 2021 18:30:07
On the contrary ed! i wasnt putting klopp down, he is clearly one of the better managers in the game rn! My point was, he lost several finals before winning one!

by the by you do agree with me right? losing 6 finals is worse than losing 4 semis?

{Ed014's Note - brilliant, well get back to me when Ole wins something, you know, like the Premier League or Champions league. I’ll wait.

19.) 29 May 2021 19:08:54
Klopp's teams played scintillating football. In Germany as well as in England.
Ole's teams play like absolute dross, bores the fans to death.

20.) 29 May 2021 19:12:34
Raconteur, you must be thinking of a different klopp because he won two leagues back to back and a cup final in Germany before embarking on the 6 losses in cup finals.

Is it a different klopp you are talking about? Because h
Judge had already proved himself beyond all considerable doubt we'll before he managed to get to another 7 finals 🤦‍♂️.

21.) 29 May 2021 19:26:34
Not obsessed about united at all. Nor was I comparing managers or stating I think Tuchel is a messiah. I still have questions in regards to our own attacking play, and as well as we’ve played in a back 5 I do think we need to switch to a back 4 to build to be a top top side IMO. I came to gauge how united fans thought OGS was doing. From what I’ve seen (I wouldn’t call you lucky) but the amount of times you’ve gone behind in matches and your struggles to break down low blocks, I was just interested in a normal dialogue.

22.) 29 May 2021 19:27:13
I was not undermining klopp @angel. i think you didn't follow the context of my comments, or maybe i just worded them too poorly.

Also, technically, and i can't stress that enough, so i repeat, technically Ole won two back to back league titles in norway too ;)

23.) 29 May 2021 19:27:17
Again Ed, you are asking me about Ole, while I haven't said anything about him.
But if you want an answer, i'd call him a looser too, same as Tuchel.
I did have some kind of understanding for Ole for some time, but I clearly can't say he has a winner mentality when he subs Greenwood for Fred or smth like that.

{Ed014's Note - unfortunately you did mention Ole but let’s just brush over that hey.

24.) 29 May 2021 20:00:29
I havent, at least not in my original comment.
I was Ole in, I have to admit, but opinions do change. I wasnt happy with that final at all.
Anyway, my original answer was directed to Tuchel, not anyone else. i'm not convinced with Tuchel at all and i'm not worries with Chelsea while Tuchel is their manager, that's all.

25.) 29 May 2021 20:08:40
Mumbles, I have just seen your comment. As I said earlier, I was Ole in, but I too am dissapointed.
Mostly with his cowerdly subs and tactics.
I would rate his tenure with good in the beggining, and being scared to risk in the end, which cost us tropheys.
I don't know who would be the best choice for us, but it wouldn't be Tuchel.

26.) 30 May 2021 07:16:44
Trololo

Tuchel is a European Cup winning coach after 6 months, Ole relegated Cardiff and plays the worst football since Sexton.

Tuchel, another top coach United have missed out on whilst emotional over Ole. The board are useless.

According to Le Tissier, half your squad should be shown the exit. Thoughts?

1.) 04 Nov 2016 23:09:37
Seen his list and I agree other than keeping rooney for sentimental value, that is nonsense. Over the next 2 transfer windows I can see a huge clear out and incoming players of better quality. This time next year I think we'll be unrecognisable to the team that has been pretty dire so far this season.

2.) 05 Nov 2016 11:11:49
Where was he a couple of months ago when the window was actually open. lol some people makes me laugh.

Leicester want £50m for Maddison and he only has 1 year left on his contract too. Mount is definitely worth £20m more than Maddy easy.

FiremanC, big clubs monitoring Mctominay? Like West Ham and Everton? The clubs who have interest in Mount are Barca, Real, Juve etc hardly the same at all ? as for the ‘English tax’ it’s more of a HG tax which Mctom counts as.

Joey Barton was charged with around the same amount of breaches and he was given an initial 18 month ban (which I believe was reduced in the end to 6 months or maybe reduced by 6 months? ) so Toney could end up with a fairly lengthy ban.

Granted Varane didn’t have a great or even good first season, but to be relegated to a bench option, I’d I was him I’d want to be leaving ASAP.

There is the possibility either City or Chelsea go for FDJ and they might entice him to leave. But imo no matter how much you’re earning, I wouldn’t be walking away from 17m OWED to me. Fair to walk away from walking away from a potential 17m (in future earnings or whatever) but from what we’ve seen/ heard, FDJ is at his dream job, earning a massive wage, in a gorgeous city: so despite the fact that Barcelona want to raise money or for him to reduce his salary, he could easily sit on his current salary til the end of his contract and still receive his back pay, get a massive signing on bonus for his next contract on a free all whilst getting a fat pay cheque in his dream job etc.

Basically what I’m saying is there’s no way for Barcelona to force him out if he doesn’t want to leave. At this point in time it would be best to simply move onto #2 on the list of targets.

Shappy just curious but where are your figures from? The most up to date article I’ve seen was from jan 11th and had Utd in 6th for total days lost to injury.

Shappy where are you getting these figures from? £30-35m for Maguire? He’ll be 31 years old, barely have played well for 2 years and he’s literally average (altho perhaps good for a low defensive block) on high wages (unlikely to want to a massive drop off in wages) have 1 year left on his contract. His options are West Ham and maybe an Italian side like Roma? At best. Neither will want to be spending more than £20m at max imo when factoring age and wages and contract remaining etc

Mctominay will also have 1 year left on his contract. There’s v little interest in him, maybe West Ham, maybe Newcastle? No continental team is paying £30m for him with 1 year left on his contract.

Pretty sure Nice were asking for 50-60m for Todibo in January, which is always inflated prices compared to the summer window but I’d imagine they’d still want £40m+ this summer.

So think Maguire + Mctominay = Todibo or there about.

AWB is also in his last year on contract and seemingly the only interest is Crystal Palace. I’d imagine 15m seems fair.

Varane and Casemiro are slight wild cards, who knows what Saudi clubs are willing to pay for Casemiro but 40-50m seems especially generous, and I’m not entirely sure who would want to sign Varane? There were links of him going back to Madrid but I don’t see them signing an injury prone CB on high wages for £30m.

Ultimately I think those players raise £120m max imo. A far cry from the 200m+ you seem to expect. Also Donny, Sancho, Greenwood, Pellistri and Hannibal raising ‘significant funds’ seems overblown. 10, 35, 20, 10, 10 would probs be around the figures I’d imagine clubs would pay for them, so maybe another 100m max.

Can’t believe Onana and Holjmund are only earning 25k between them shawthing?
Didn’t Mount turn down offers of around 200-250k from Chelsea as he didn’t feel it was high enough? Seen a few sources saying Mounts on around 300K but might not be entirely accurate but doubt it’s far off. DDG was on 325k ish?
