with Mata, Carrick, Herrera, Zlatan, Shaw and Felliani out of contract this summer who will be retained and who will leave I would be sad to see Mata leave but think all six could be replaced. If we don't win the league which in all honesty looks very very hard we probably will need 4/ 5 new players which in hindsight should of happened this summer.

red gate

{Ed002's Note - There is a good chance Fellaini will go in January. Mata will get a direct approach from Real Madrid in January.}

1.) 06 Nov 2017 20:58:45
Could people see Mata in the Madrid team.

2.) 06 Nov 2017 22:15:52
Am I right in saying that there is a option for a 1 year extension in Matas contract? If so does this mean United can extend it themselves or does the player also have to agree to it. Can anyone clear that up? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have not seen his contract.}

3.) 06 Nov 2017 22:23:17
Mata to Madrid ๐Ÿค”.

Be very disappointed to see him leave.

4.) 07 Nov 2017 00:36:18
Shame because mata and fellaini are 2 i'd want to keep.

5.) 07 Nov 2017 02:57:24
I'd keep Fellaini the rest could go from my perspective. Mata to Madrid B?

I like Herrera but he is a jack of all trades and we need masters.

6.) 06 Nov 2017 23:27:12
Sorry Ed 02 kind of stupid question back there. Non the less though in the case of any player if there's an option to add a further year in their contract is it the club or player who has the final say? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the contract but unilateral clauses are always in favour of the club with the player having signed the original contract containing that clause and details of how it is invoked and details of the financial package. It typically requires the provision of a registered letter by a certain date but does not stop the player talking to clubs registered with a different FA from January. The majority of clubs will always talk with the player first, a few perhaps not, and there have been some which have ended up in a legal battle - with one significant case in 2005/06 which ended with the Dispute Resolution Chamber making the decision on behalf of CAS after the matter was referred by FIFA.}

7.) 07 Nov 2017 08:38:38
Thanks for the reply.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome Dan.}

8.) 07 Nov 2017 15:28:58
As cover perhaps Jred, I suspect there is an option to extend and despite what Jose would say in the media about wanting Mata to stay, I think he'd be open to selling if he was replaced by Perisic or someone similar.

9.) 08 Nov 2017 08:26:48
Mata to Madrid in this mornings papers, Ed0002 ahead of the game as ever.

10.) 08 Nov 2017 12:07:36
AS much as I like all the players in this list, Iโ€™m not concerned by any of them moving on.

11.) 08 Nov 2017 18:23:23
Well first of all, we canโ€™t let them all leave in the summer. Way too big of a blood loss for the squad, no matter how high you rate each one of them. Iโ€™d like to see Herrera retained and more involved again.
I guess the club has no say in Fellaini anymore, Zlatan, Carrick and Shaw need to go because of age or because itโ€™s just not happening in Shawโ€™s case.
I like Mata a lot, so would plead to keep the two Spaniards and sign three starters for the wingback positions and right side.
And then leave room in the squad for highly rated youths to get some minutes.

12.) 12 Nov 2017 21:15:45
I think Mata would do well at Madrid. Slower pace of the games, surrounded by some top players, would play to his strengths.

02 Nov 2017 17:53:52
do any of the Eds have any news on us being in for Leon goretzka a possible free transfer, could replace Felliani if he goes.

red gate

{Ed002's Note - I answered this before, there is some interest but Barcelona and Juventus are more likely destinations.}

1.) 02 Nov 2017 18:30:46
sorry Ed i should of used the search engine, if we were to sign Sanchez and Goretzka on free transfers we would still have a nice pot left for further reinforcements, Jose does know how to box clever we could see a few free transfers this summer.

{Ed002's Note - I would not worry about the money but there are specific positions the club are looking at addressing. PSG will look to Sanchez.}

sat watching Roma and hoping Nianggolon comes on he is a player I hope Jose is considering do the eds no if there is any interest in him from us if not there should be he is as good as Keane in his prime for me would love a summer of him Laporte, Barkley and Aubameyang.

red gate

1.) 20 May 2017 22:41:39
As good as Keane in his prime? You must be joking. Nowhere near as good. And Ross Barkley? So overrated it's untrue. Where would he play? He's poor for me.

2.) 20 May 2017 23:05:46
ok maybe as good as Keane is a bit much but he is for me the best all action midfielder in Europe at the moment watched Roma all season and he is amazing at everything didn't play today but if you watch his performances he is top top notch I also think Barkley could be very good for us he has bags of ability and looks a Jose type player big strong good engine tackles scores creates better than Fellaini and the Rooney of today in my opinion.

{Ed007's Note - Maybe as good as Keane.... Roy Keane?? Be careful here - very careful......

3.) 20 May 2017 23:25:12
ed007 I said maybe as good was a bit much after maybe bigging him up to much. Just for the record Keane is my favourite player of all time before him Robson was I like Nianggolon because he gives 100% he would give us the most complete battling midfielder in europe today bar none he that good, if you have watched Roma this season he has really played exceptional hope Jose has been paying attention. 28 is prime for his postion and although he parties and smokes he super fit trains himself Zidan liked to drink and smoke even Messi likes a smoke so I hope we sign him and the Reds have another player in the mould of Keane or Robson.

{Ed007's Note - People can argue with me about the existence of God and His son Jesus but NOBODY can argue with me about the existence of Roy Maurice Keane, by far THE greatest man that has walked on this earth outside the Bible. While Zidane was smoking and drinking Roy Keane was bullying Hannibal Lecter for being a pussy at Cannibal Anonymous meetings!
Nianggolon is a good player but he's no Scott Brown or Stuart Armstrong.}

4.) 20 May 2017 23:30:41
lol only just seen the clip i live Gateshead northeast even Liam Neeson would give this place a wide birth.

{Ed007's Note - Auf Wiedershen Pet territory, Why Eye Man!!

5.) 21 May 2017 02:32:31
Now this is classic Bond! Hahaha.

6.) 21 May 2017 08:39:54
Jimmy Nail - now there is a true legend!

My grandparents used to live up North, and for some reason kept getting Jimmy Nail's post. True story.

Had to keep putting it back in the postbox with "RETURN TO SPENDER" written on it.

7.) 21 May 2017 09:12:11
Oh betty. Hang your head in shame hahaha

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

8.) 20 May 2017 23:57:41
Ed007
LOL u need to get on the site more.

{Ed007's Note - It's all far too serious on here for that mate.}

9.) 21 May 2017 01:05:24
Mr bond i agree with your views on Roy Keane. as they say here in cork .
He was a rare one.

{Ed007's Note - Unique.}

10.) 21 May 2017 02:32:31
Now this is classic Bond! Hahaha.

{Ed007's Note - :-D

11.) 21 May 2017 03:02:51
Ed 007 spot on. No one replaces Keano!

{Ed007's Note - And no one ever will.}

18 May 2017 18:34:58
would Aymeric laporte be a cb under consideration from Jose or do you think Rojo is the long term left sided cb solution.

red gate

{Ed002's Note - MU has shown no interest in Aymeric Laporte but Mourinho was keen when he was at Chelsea.}

1.) 18 May 2017 20:52:53
He would jump at the chance of playing with his best bud Pogba at club level I would think ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†.

21 Aug 2016 13:39:21
On reflection of this weekends game i came to a conclusion that the new referring code on shirt pulling and jostling in the box may well benifit us the most we have the tallest strongest team so the advantage of this should play into our hands and will ultimately lead to more penalties though out the league.

red gate

1.) 21 Aug 2016 13:46:33
it could also hurt us badly if smalling is up to his usual shirt swapping antics.

2.) 21 Aug 2016 14:01:10
We also have Smalling, it won't help him out!

3.) 21 Aug 2016 14:38:04
Smalliing is 3rd choice now. So he better play and not pull.

06 Aug 2016 15:29:54
Tomorrow should be a good game both teams have recruited well and it should be a test for both sides Vardy vs Bailly and Zlat vs Morgan will probably decide who gets bragging rights Bailly had a lot of success against the top forwards in la liga his pace is going to be key with defending Leicesters counter attacking and i don't think Morgan has ever faced a player as big and strong as Zlat i think we will win 2-1 can't wait for tomorrow most exciting start to a campaign in a very long time.

red gate

1.) 06 Aug 2016 16:01:46
who put disagree? strange folk.

2.) 06 Aug 2016 16:57:12
I do this Mourinho is right about LVG affect on the team, and that it will take time to do regiment them.

Both teams have pace in theirs respective sides. Hopefully as fans we are provided with a high tempo, entertaining game. I've forgotten what that's like.

3.) 06 Aug 2016 17:27:14
Looking forward to it. First competitive match but with no tears if losing it and a nice trip out to Wembley again. Win win.

08 Jul 2016 15:18:33
question for all eds and posters alike been regular visitor on this site been years since i posted and was under a different name would like to thank ever ed and poster as its excellent and entertaining to say the least and for my question who of the three signings do you seeing make the biggest impact zlatans goals or mickys assists bailys defending or however the new 4th is going to be fingers crossed for pogba lol i think the zlat mite take to the prem. like a duck to water.

red gate

{Ed004's Note - Thanks. Probably Mkhitarian}

1.) 08 Jul 2016 20:44:01
Mick for me as well.

2.) 08 Jul 2016 20:44:13
Got to agree ed Mkhitaryan is the one I'm most excited to see and also mourinhos passion in the technical area.

I also have my fingers crossed for pogba too red gate.

3.) 08 Jul 2016 20:45:56
My answer is Jose.

4.) 08 Jul 2016 20:51:31
I think it depends on the time frame you put on the success of the transfer.

Zlatan has the most potential to pay off in the short term, where as Mkhitaryan is probably the bewt medium term option. Bailly may take a season or two to fully adjust but he has the potential to be a key CB for us for the next decade.

Micki or Zlatan are most likely to be the difference makers next season out of our new signings so far.

5.) 08 Jul 2016 21:03:48
Hard to know. I think all 3 will do well. Zlatan to get 20 goals its been a while since rvp did that. Miki to create chances for all
Baily to bring pace and strength to our defence.

6.) 08 Jul 2016 21:57:09
I agree with Irish Devil.
Jose is the one who will make a difference.

Martial is a true world class player in the making I think we will see a different player to last season and looks a snip at the price compared to players of his quilitys in this inflated market I think a lot will be left with humble pie by him this season, loaning him out is not in Joses plans neither is selling him he had already stated he has a big part to play this season.

Pogba would be a loss to any team and the sooner he is back the better. him and Matic have played a handful of games and look a great pairing in the making when we get Pogba Zlatan and Rojo back soon we will see how good we really are could go on a great run.

I think a few will leave in January and if everyone was fit then they would be gone now don't know were these stories about Felliani going come from there no chance of him leaving this year or next Jose rates him and he clearly has attributes that help the team not the best footballer but route one not many better glad to See him further up the pitch battering people.

Felliani is going no were Jose rates him it's obvious he likes his size and tactical advantages we need a winger or wing back to give us more width I think it will be the lad from PSG AND young will most likely be sold with one or two of the youngster going on loan.

we could afford Neymar but the glaziers would not likely sanction the deal would we be able to lure him here I doubt that as well but we could most defiantly afford the fees.
