Being reported that Raúl Jiménez of Wolves on way to United. Any observation Ed’s?

{Ed002's Note - He would be very expensive and who would he replace?}

08 Jan 2020 13:54:22
Some interesting details reported on US sports news last night regarding Manchester United. They have player targets that they are seeking to secure, albeit some may only be able to join at the end of the season. The interesting bit is, that these targets have, allegedly, been looked at following recommendations, advice. given by Pochettino? Does this mean MUFC are selecting players that Poch wants with a view to him coming in the summer?

I have seen this elsewhere and don't post it as my own info but find it intriguing given that, again allegedly, Poch stands to forfiet £12.5m of his settlement from Spurs should he sign for a club this season.

To reiterate I post this 'info' from elsewhere simply to invite discussion/ observations and thoughts. I will also post as a new thread in case this gets lost to the next page already.

1.) 08 Jan 2020 15:05:47
Hope it's TRUE. Sick of Ole trying to run his team in the same mould as Fergie did. Those days have gone now I'm afraid, Players are more technical now . And the most upsetting thing for me with Ole is, He always looks to Fergie in the crowd as if to say how was that boss for a performance. He's the manager not fergie. get Poch in.

2.) 08 Jan 2020 21:01:28
First he surprised us
Then he disappointed us
Then he humiliate us
Now he is destroying us
All this because he scored one goal.

3.) 08 Jan 2020 23:35:18
Frenchman regardless of what you think of ole he is doing his best working under complete amateurs. I’m not saying he’s great or anything like that. But people need to open their eyes and realise nothing changes until there’s a major restructure and we start acting like a proper football club.
Ole like every other manager is the scapegoat for our failings off the pitch.

4.) 08 Jan 2020 23:59:47
caolan do you suffer with bipolar. you are defending him one moment and tearing him another one on a different post.

5.) 09 Jan 2020 00:31:48
Would love to believe that there has been a plan put in place to bring in a DOF in and Poch as manager at end of season no matter what happens with Ole and that he is informed of this and being respectfully treated etc etc however sadly the chances of that being the case are very very slim.

6.) 09 Jan 2020 03:32:18
Caolan, the season before Ole took over we finished second behind a record breaking City and finalists in the FA cup, won Europa and Carabao cups a season before that. In what dictionary is that called failing?

7.) 09 Jan 2020 05:00:27

1 goal? Do you remember his career for the club? The disrespect shown to him is disappointing, he’s struggling just like the 3 managers before him but his playing career was more than one goal in the Nou Camp, he was an unbelievable striker.

8.) 09 Jan 2020 06:50:28
The easiest thing is to show the door to Ole. Why? United doesn't have midfielders, attackers need good passes, defenders need protection to be calm when defending and when we play from defence. Ole signed 2 defenders and 1 attacker, they are not doing badly. Let him sign 3 midfielders and another striker, then we can judge him for f*ck sake.

9.) 09 Jan 2020 10:02:29
Seriously WTF is wrong with you whiney sods!

Ole made it clear - He is rebuilding from the bottom up and it is an ongoing project.

You lot talk about him as though he is doing a terrible job. Look at the players he has, at the players he has to do the job without due to injuries.

The squad has been neglected for years with stupid" need right now! " players who are brought in on the short term stupid wages and ultimately fell out with the manager we had at the time.

The club lost it's identity completely - on and off the pitch. Players had no connection to the club. Here just for the wage not for the love of the club and fans.

I get most players are mercenaries however i would take a mercenary who wants to be adored by the fans regardless of the club they play for over one who is there just to pick up a wage and appear to be making an effort.

So far Ole has brought back some identity on the pitch, the club feels in a better place despite not always getting the results we want.

The signings made under Ole have been good value and are well above average.

Some one above said we cannot play like we did under SAF as players are "More Technical". Sorry don't get it.

You can play as we did previously so long as you have the ability breakdown sides when they don't allow for a counter attacking play. Pretty sure we had that under SAF as we did not always play using counter attack as our only style of play.

If you mean to say it is more difficult to do so then of course however that doesn't mean we cannot have our own "more technical" players finding alternative routes to getting the goals we need.

Every club has gone through a period of rebuild. If we want success we must do it right not "Right now! "

The constant manager merry go round is a joke.

We committed to a rebuild - it's going ok for now and we are seeing progress on the pitch and behind the scenes.

As long as things continue in the right direction then sit back take the hits and enjoy the wins.

P. s Signings are key. We should have a good mix of young talent and experienced 27+ players to provide wisdom and stability.

Oh and Artur Vidal. HELL NO! Very bad influence. Not the kind of player we want at the club. agression on the pitch yeah but the guy is reckless.

Mario Gotze, Eriksen, Kroos etc yes

10.) 09 Jan 2020 10:15:51
An unbelievable striker who was never first choice gds2. How's YOUR memory?

11.) 09 Jan 2020 16:38:18
He scored 91 goals in 235 games for the club, practically a reserve 😂.

12.) 09 Jan 2020 18:18:35
Definitely a reserve. Good in the box- not so good outside. Surrounded by great players who created so many chances. Behind Yorke, Cole and Sherringham on ability. Good sub. Never "outstanding. "

13.) 09 Jan 2020 19:30:19

I’ll assume this is a joke.

14.) 10 Jan 2020 08:45:51
Assume what you like. Denis Law was outstanding. Van Nistelroy was outstanding. Oli was not. He was good. How would you rate Yorke and Cole.

{Ed047's Note - Theo Walcott, 120 odd goals in 290 odd appearances, an outstanding player! 🤦‍♂️😂

15.) 10 Jan 2020 09:18:28
Exactly Ed47.

02 Aug 2019 15:21:18
Being reported by The Telegraph that Maguire to United done at £85M. I will wait for the usual naff pictures of contract signing before believing a word of it.

1.) 02 Aug 2019 15:33:02
Craig norwood has confirmed as well. let's wait and see.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 15:34:04
Defence sorted but midfield still woeful, a pogba injury and we are in a pickle fernandes is essential.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 15:35:38
Maguire deal confirmed by other journos. Transfer fee is steep. hopefully he ll be able to handle the pressure.
I can see the knives out as soon as he makes the first mistake.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 15:40:19
jaimej79 does every positive have to be followed by a negative? Dear me one target in and all you.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 15:40:42
Jesus Jaime, it must be exhausting living so relentlessly under grey skies.

6.) 02 Aug 2019 15:49:47
Well done for quickly finding a negative Jaime.

7.) 02 Aug 2019 15:51:29
80 according to the BBC.

8.) 02 Aug 2019 15:52:21
At least we have bought a defender. even if it is Harry McGuire.

9.) 02 Aug 2019 15:57:27
Jaime, I think you're going to be disappointed mate. Woodward has shifted his attention away from Bruno because Dybala is flashing a big of thigh.

10.) 02 Aug 2019 15:59:56
Obviously United were just waiting on the results of Maguire's 17th medical of the summer before confirming it.

11.) 02 Aug 2019 16:04:28

McTominay has been brilliant in pre season so woeful is a bit harsh, hopefully Fred will improve but I do think we are in need of another 1 or 2 in there to improve us.

12.) 02 Aug 2019 16:26:53
I hope United haven't wasted too much time on the Lukaku/ Dybala swap deal. Our priority should always have been Maguire and Fernandes. Maguire looks likely though. In the event of missing out on Fernandes, we need Fred to step up big-time with assists and goals alongside Pogba. It is shocking how less we mention Sanchez now. Maybe he can reinvent himself as a 10. Can't wait for the football to start.

13.) 02 Aug 2019 16:57:04
Jaime is only a teenager lads. Go easy.

14.) 02 Aug 2019 17:46:59
In terms of attacking flare we have Chong and Greenwood not to mention Gomes.

Fernandes would be great don't get me wrong but as it stands we have had a good transfer window.

15.) 02 Aug 2019 17:53:27
We probably paid 20 million to much for both AWB and McGuire.
But its players we needed.
Hopefully Bruno is next, don't want to be wasting precious days chasing Dybala. If dybala did come than great.
But I feel bruno will give us whole new attacking dimension
We should be spending the next few days shipping out the deadwood
. young smalling, jones, fred, lukaku.

16.) 02 Aug 2019 18:08:20
Who cares what we’ve paid. Will both players improve our defence massively? Yes. Are they going to walk into our starting. 11? Yes. Is Dybala and improvement on lukaku to play right side forward? 10000000% yes.

Our team is taking shape - the jigsaw was never going to be completed in one window but it’s a bloody good start to suit how OGS wants us to play. I am delighted.

17.) 02 Aug 2019 18:53:09
Well said Eric, why people talk about the money like its theirs is beyond me. Have season tickets gone up? No! Yes, we'll pay more because other clubs know we need these players but it's more important at this stage to get the correct players signed. I worry about the guys conducting deals, much like other posters, but our jobs as fans is to sing every match day. Cliche I know but we need to get behind the boys, not the numptys upstairs.

18.) 02 Aug 2019 21:41:38
It's my money Rich_1982.When I'm buying man utd kits every year. Buying season tickets for last 30 years. buying man utd beer and man utd crisps. All of which I hasten to add goes into buying players. so when I say we paid 20 million to much for AWB and Maguire. I have a right to say so.

19.) 02 Aug 2019 22:42:36

I think I remember reading a post of ED002 whereby it was stated gate money doesn't produce that much income for the club, your season ticket hasn't increased in price has it, more than inflation.

Ultimately as I have said elsewhere, you have a choice, you can continue to attend, buy the kits, crisps and whatever or you cannot and save yourself how ever much it is you spend, which probably wouldn't pay for a minute of a player's time.

I think you are forgetting how much it costs to pay those that work for the club that aren't involved in the footballing side of things.

Whinge as much you like, but you choose to go. you could easily choose not to.

20.) 03 Aug 2019 07:24:43
Rock, sounds like you buy all the kits, crisps and beer so you can say "it's my money, I can say if we pay too much". Unfortunately, both your ticket and my ticket isn't signing the players. Not an argument buddy, just the way it is. Enjoy the new season.

21.) 03 Aug 2019 09:36:13
Nonsense Rock - are you 12 or something? . I bought an iPhone, doesn’t mean their profits are my money or have a right to say how the company is run. The same applies to football.

I go to the theatre and watch a play, doesn’t mean I now have a right to tell them how to direct the play have a stake in the production.

Such naivety. None of it is our money, as soon as you hand it over the club it is theirs to do as they wish. If you disagree, don’t give it to them!

31 Jul 2019 09:11:49
Sporting have (apparently) told RTP that the rumours United have agreed a deal for Fernandes were ‘completely false’ and there has not even been an offer for the playmaker.

This has more twists than a very twisty thing lol.

1.) 31 Jul 2019 10:17:45
Wow very reliable source lol.

2.) 31 Jul 2019 10:18:17
We have been told by Ed002 that we haven't agreed a deal so nothing new, I think we will though.

3.) 31 Jul 2019 10:20:50
I'd say Dybala getting tossed into the mix has made Ed forget about Bruno. Can't see us signing both of them.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 11:11:56
TrueRedDevil. Sporting or RTP? :) )

5.) 31 Jul 2019 11:30:40
Remember that we do transfers one at a time LOL So we have two weeks to complete 3 transfers, so one will not happen
:D:D:D Joke aside, I think We'll sign the 3 of them, with Maguire and Bruno 99% sure and Dybala hanging on whether he is pushed over by Sarri.

6.) 31 Jul 2019 13:08:31
Ziko it's less than 2 weeks.

7.) 31 Jul 2019 14:39:44
Yeah, sorry, so player and a half then

25 Jul 2019 07:21:12
Just putting it out there. I'm a messenger so don't shoot me.

Bruno Fernandes is unlikely to join Manchester United this summer, . It is believed most of the speculation linking the Portugal international has been driven from his homeland, rather than Manchester.

1.) 25 Jul 2019 07:29:55
Sorry should have proof read before posting the above that this is being reported by Sly Sports News.

2.) 25 Jul 2019 07:46:47
A little disappointing if true. I think he would really improve our team. That said, a CB and RW should be the priorities.

3.) 25 Jul 2019 07:52:38
I would seriously have to ask what direction were heading in as a club if this is true anyone who knows anything about football knows we are crying out for a player like him he is quality and is only gone get better
Jurgen klopps even scared well get him,

4.) 25 Jul 2019 07:57:51
Goal and assist against the old enemy last night, get him signed up!

5.) 25 Jul 2019 08:05:32
Absolutely sickened by this hope it's not true.

6.) 25 Jul 2019 08:07:36
You would need elaborate why is CB and RW our priority we are already 2 midfielders down and the ones we have left are useless apart from Pogba
Midfield should definitely be our priority we need a COM and an AM at a minimum I would say.

7.) 25 Jul 2019 08:20:11
Why have they said all summer that we want him then? Getting more and more bent and unreliable all the time that lot are. Just take no notice and whoever signs happy days.

8.) 25 Jul 2019 08:22:13
This guy just single-handedly demolished Liverpool today! Sign him up Woodward!

9.) 25 Jul 2019 08:23:27
SSN over the last week have reported Maguire set for medical, official bid for Pepe has been put in. SMS is close to being done, the SMS deal won't affect a deal for Bruno, now Bruno isn't coming, we're looking at Alderwierald now, have interest in Erikson, we're ready to put another bid of 30 million in for Longstaff, we're considering a package for Bale and we want Dybala at the club.

Safe to say that gullible punters will be losing the rent money on their betting site.

10.) 25 Jul 2019 08:14:59
It's being reported by Sky Sports News reporter James Cooper who is with the team on tour. Disappointed to say the least if this is an accurate report.

{Ed002's Note - The situation is that the amateurs dealing with negotiations for Manchester United are expecting their arrogant bullying will lead to clubs selling on the cheap or buying at inflated prices. Clubs are simply turning to look at other options as they are wanting to prepare for the season.}

11.) 25 Jul 2019 08:34:51
SSN hardly have a great track record when it comes to accuracy of their reporting. If they did, we would have a new 25 man squad every season.

Ed002 gave a great update a couple of days ago saying the priorities look to be Maguire 1st, Fernandes 2nd then sort out Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez.

12.) 25 Jul 2019 08:50:30
RJMAN link to hat post from Ed002 please?

13.) 25 Jul 2019 09:41:24
Not 100% sure where it is KingGiggsy but it will probably be on the banter 2 or 3 page now. If you search Ed002 you'll probably find it.

14.) 25 Jul 2019 10:34:22
Ed said there is still enough time to get the deals done.
Btw KingGiggsy is back.

15.) 25 Jul 2019 10:46:36
Why are you all losing your sh*t over something the was posted by somebody who has no inside knowledge but gets their information from Sky Sports?

Sky say we are not interested in a player therefore the club is doomed and we should all give up now. It's such an emotional response and I suggest you spent 10 minutes outside in the sun to get some Vitamin D inside of you.

Apart from the fact that we have been told on here all summer by Ed002 that there is interest and that a sufficient bid has not yet been made.
Most on here take that as we are NOT interested and the club is on the brink of collapsing.

Not going to bother reading through endless wittering but. whilst not celebrating winning an Arsenal trophy I have to say I’m immensely pleased that we are in a decent bargaining position re UCL and transfer negotiations. Still not convinced OGS is the way forward but given where we were and where we’re at it has to be regarded as improvement. I’ve loved and supported this club of ours since the late 50’s and I’m convinced the cycle will continue as before, we WILL be back. Have faith brothers and sisters. Love and peace to all. 😘.

1.) 26 Jul 2020 20:40:38
Winning an arsenal trophy?

We have just finished 3rd, which for this team is a fantastic achievement we was 14 points behind Leicester at 1 point

We could end up having a great season if we can win the europa.

2.) 26 Jul 2020 21:29:40
i seen a couple a weeks ago that psg want rashford for 100 million i'm sorry i would bite the hand off them for that and would bring back zaha he is a much more complete winger than rashford imo imagine having zaha on the left and sancho on the right teams could never live that sort of pace and power no hance.

3.) 26 Jul 2020 21:42:56
Scott, you're surely not serious?

4.) 26 Jul 2020 22:03:30
Scott u been on the sauce 😁😁.

5.) 26 Jul 2020 23:57:23

Haha good one.

6.) 27 Jul 2020 04:03:53
Please shoot me now.

{Ed0666's Note - we could get Lingaard to shoot you Dcodgy but he would probably miss.

7.) 27 Jul 2020 07:04:14
Seriously Scott?
He is our joint top scorer even after being sidelined by injuries for more than 2 months.

He is a top professional and a great human being, fighting for social causes. These are the type of characters you need in the dressing room and for the young players to look upto.

20 Jul 2020 20:17:51
I see a fair few are calling for OGS to be replaced no matter what. I also see a fair few calling for him to be replaced if we don’t achieve a top four place. I want to know who you guys calling for him to be replaced think should replace him.
Simple question; if you think OGS should be replaced who do you think the club should go all out for?

1.) 20 Jul 2020 21:16:27

2.) 20 Jul 2020 21:17:46
I always rate Ed002s opinion so i would consider Laurent Blanc. I rate him anyway, that's not the most common opinion but for me his Pari who won against Chelsea was the best Pari, i mean they played like a unite and not individuals like now . They had the best centre on the planet because they had good players and a tactician as a coach.

3.) 20 Jul 2020 22:08:53

4.) 20 Jul 2020 22:42:09
Gall arson seems a great coach. The river plate manager.

5.) 20 Jul 2020 22:44:13

6.) 21 Jul 2020 05:22:07
David Moyes.

7.) 21 Jul 2020 05:33:16
Pochettino and Blanc have been mentioned so I'll throw in Lucien Favre.

8.) 21 Jul 2020 07:57:43
I would stick with Ole and judge him next year.
If things don't go well, my choice would be Erik Ten Hag or Nagelsmann.

I've also been impressed with Ralph Hasenhüttl's play style.

9.) 21 Jul 2020 09:10:45
Joey Barton.

10.) 21 Jul 2020 11:05:51
Joey Barton 😂😂 Quality 😂😂.

20 Jul 2020 09:05:31
On yesterdays evidence I worry about playing WHU and LCFC, with their high energy and pacey game, will absolutely smoke us off the park. We aren’t anywhere near ‘there’ yet, in fact we’re a million miles off it.

19 Jul 2020 16:09:05
Spurs 1-0 up v LCFC very early in the game. 🤞🤞🤞.

1.) 19 Jul 2020 16:14:40
Go Spurs. Come on Jose.

2.) 19 Jul 2020 16:39:10
2-0 🤞🤞🤞.

3.) 19 Jul 2020 16:41:11

4.) 19 Jul 2020 16:46:01
Jose loves us really doesn’t he 😂🤞.

5.) 19 Jul 2020 16:53:44
Can’t decide if I want them to get trounced or not. On the one hand, the weaker their goal difference, the better. On the other, they have a full week to stew on this result ahead of our trip to Leicester. I suppose a big win at West Ham (not that that will be easy given their urgent form) could effectively wrap things up early for us if spurs can find another couple of goals.

6.) 19 Jul 2020 16:58:17
1 more and we go 4th with a game in hand and without kicking a ball. Come on you spurs!

7.) 19 Jul 2020 16:59:49
1 more we go 4th.

8.) 19 Jul 2020 17:44:47
Spurs haven’t even came out the second half. aww well 😂.

9.) 19 Jul 2020 17:54:31
Two draws get us 4th.

10.) 19 Jul 2020 17:56:28
2 draws would settle top 4 for us. I wish Jose was around for these 2 games, he was excellent at draws.

11.) 19 Jul 2020 17:57:11
4 goal win against West ham and Leicester will have to beat us by 2.

12.) 19 Jul 2020 19:09:02
In your scenario we can only lose by 1 Ken . They have better attack.

13.) 19 Jul 2020 21:59:29
We are level now. If we win by 4 they have to beat us by 2 clear goals?

02 Jul 2020 08:45:54
So Liverpool won the league and the government are still paying people to stay off work. somewhere there is a scouser with a lamp and genie just wondering what to do with his 3rd wish. 😂.

Indeed Ed047. This isn't the new years honour list. It's a sporting contest that has to be won and not just 'deserved'. Do you think for one moment the scallies wouldn't be all over this if it were us in their present position? The Kop songwriters would be burning the midnight oil composing for next season. Just as will the United and Everton songwriters if LFC are 'awarded' the title because they 'deserve' it. Not bitter. It's life. 😉🤣.

{Ed047's Note - I know Scooby, it all makes for interesting reading on the relevant pages right now. Mighty Reds will never live it down bless him. 🤦‍♂️

I’d be the same with the Spuds! In fact, that they have lumbered themselves with Mourinho is an absolute delight 🤣🤣

One player has transformed us so Bruno, no question.

{Ed004's Note - Rashford for me followed by Martial or Awb. No doubt it would've been Bruno if he was here all season}
