Does anyone else think villa would be a good by could get him for about £10 million and he would be perfect foil for RVP, very unselfish and a great team player. Dependant on Rooney going would mean another top draw finisher that wouldn't cost a lot allow more money for ronaldo deal

No. First, Villa, at 31, is on the downswing of his playing career and buying him would be going against Utd's general policy of going for younger players and developing them. Second, he wouldn't fit right into our system. We have a surplus of wingers at the moment and adding him as the lone striker would take away time from Hernandez (who IMO is better than Villa right now), Welbeck, and any other youngsters we may try to break into first team. Third, while 10m may not be breaking the bank, it would still be wasteful to spend it on a squad player when we need players who can really fight for first team. Fourth, Villa would want semi-high wages which we could instead use towards first team players.
I rate Villa highly and loved watching him years ago. Unfortunately he is not the same player as he was then.

He's not the same player due to the fact he's had 2 seasons out injured.
I feel he would be a good aquisition and a proven striker

I would class it in the same bracket of us buying Michael Owen, brings experience, will still score goals and was a fantastic player. So all opinion really, however the emphasis on this post for me is "WAS a fantastic player", like Owen he is certainly not the player of a few years ago and unlike Owen (who I certainly didn't want anyway) he wouldn't be free he would be £10m, he is still a level above Owen was when he came but personally I wouldn't want him, think he would be a good signing for an Everton or Villa, a star player to lift the team for a couple of seasons mainly by his name though

I'd take him. He's never been a player to rely too heavily on pace - and so his age isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned.
IF Rooney goes - what other top strikers are available right now?

He would def score 10-15 goals per season, so if rooney goes, he would be a great asset.
