Liverpool fan here in peace. Heard a rumour from a good source that LVG will be sacked in the next 24-48 hours.

That will be the best Christmas present, and if they appoint pep.

Bein and espn now reporting the same!

{Ed033's Note - Surely, Bein and espn got it from Harry 'European glory' Scouser though :)

Heard Jose is the man, it's going to get messy.

They got this rumour from the 'press box' after the match. Journalists talking about what will happen. Stemmed from Mark ogden I believe. Decent journalist mind.

Like most on here, was thrilled when van gaal got the job. But now it's plain to see his tactics do not work in the premier league, best he goes now by mutual consent, bring in Jose.

give him a short term contract, 3 years or so and let's see were we end up. I know some board members are not keen on Jose, Bobby Charlton being one of them, but this guy wins things, upsets a few people but you can't argue with his track record. If we keep faith in van gaal until, the end of the season, the top out of work managers will get snapped up. we will be left wanting again.

Thanks, I hope you are correct. It has to be said your board were decisive and acted. Unfortunately I think our own boards decisions have cost us my number one choice in Guardiola.

Why would we want pep? When has he ever taken a team that's down and turned it ard?

Mbd

When Pep took over Barcelona in 2008 they had finished third in the league, quite unusual for them. He introduced his style to the team and it went upwards from there.

In honesty if we were consistently mid table and wanted someone to improve us then he wouldn't be the choice. That isn't the case. One thing we lack at the moment is belief in what we are doing, Guardiola brings a proven style, a current proven one and the challenge for him is to make us the best again. Perhaps he will want that type of challenge, to be spoken about like SMB and SAF or perhaps he will like the idea that City have created the total environment for him and he is just the cherry on top they have been waiting for. We will find out.

I think the team is flat and need an injection of charisma to get them firing again, similar to Klipp at Liverpool.

So, while he's not a long term option, perhaps Jose is the man for the moment.

The last time all three of Pep, Carlo and Jose were available, United ended up with Moyes.

redman i too believe pep will go to city but only time will tell if he is a success there (he will be backed well of course in the transfer market) . I personally wouldn't be happy with jose as some are saying but this is due to his behaviour at last 2 clubs. Should the united board decide to change manager then i am not sure who would be best should pep go blue (chelsea or city)
