Who so ever has came up with this article has made a big joke on us. Wants to make fans super happy. A good banter I guess.

We can only hope and pray!

I still expect him to be at OT next season.

Wishful thinking. We have never really sorted things with our RB position and unless we sign someone with experience who can just come and slot straight into the first team, don't think Young is going anywhere. Probably his last year at the club anyway and that's the least we can be happy with.

Been confirmed that it's false news.

Honestly cannot understand why criticism of AY is verbalised the way it is. As fans are you really that ignorant?
AY is well over the hill, no two ways about it but I struggle to think of another player in the current squad who gives 100% of their selves week in week out. He has been asked to do a job at RB and he’s given it his best.
Some of you need to have a long hard think about how you differentiate between ‘types’ of player and the criticism you throw about.
I would rather have 11 players lacking quality who love the club and give everything rather than a bunch of egotistical, lazy, overrated, self-indulging, overpaid waste of spaces. It makes my blood boil reading some of the unfair criticism that appears on here.
For god’s sake, if you want to have a pop at a player, do so for a lake of desire rather than quality because DESIRE is the one thing we need right now over anything else.

Well KG, I understand your sentiment but I would rather have 11 a bunch of egotistical, lazy, overrated, self-indulging, players who actually earn their money by delivering on their quality (not saying our current crop does this) rather than players lacking quality who love the club and give everything. If that is the criteria then we can get a starting 11 from this page each earning at most a tenth per month of what is currently being paid weekly.
It isn't enough to be committed, (Phil jones also comes to mind) you need to have the attributes and quality to back it, our Captain does NOT! He doe not deserve to start for us and maybe even does not deserve the bench.
It is about time we call a spade a spade.

Look at the RBs for the teams that finished top ten in the league and pick the worst performing ones.
City - Walker
Lpool - TAA
Chelsea - Azpi
Spurs - Trippier and Aurier
Arsenal - Bellerin and Niles
Utd - Young
Wolves - Doherty
Everton - Coleman
Leicester - Ricardo
Westham - Zabaleta / Fredricks

And even some from the bottom ten like AWB and the young Yan Valery. I am sorry but personally from what i saw this season, young should only be kept if he has any sort of positive influence in the dressing room.

Mbb,
Thanks for the reply. You have completely missed my point. The player can only do what is asked of him by the team’s manager. If 11 players are picked (regardless of our opinion on their quality) then it is up to the player to give 100% and AY does that. If we were to pick a team purely on desire and commitment, he would be one of the first on the team sheet.
At this point in time I am well past the ‘he does not deserve to start for us’ based on his current ability view, and to be honest given the nightmares we have involved else where within the squad who are making a negative difference, I’m surprised any other United fan could be any different.

I grasp your point perfectly, that was why I gave the example of jones who gives his all when he plays. There was no real bashing of young on this thread, but we all admit he is past it and we need to better that department. Maybe AY was being picked because we don't have any option.
To elaborate on my point of preferring the players with quality, we can take Hazard as an example, he has been flirting with Real Madrid more that half his career with chelsea be it just rumours or misguided utterances, that however never stopped him from being a professional and delivering when called upon.

Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, now Young. It seems posters are gradually working their way through the whole team.

Well said KG.

It is not Young’s fault that he has outlasted savers new signings under a number of managers.

Perhaps the frustration should be pointed towards our recruitment and decision making rather than somebody who is doing a job they are asked to do.

When players hit their thirties you start resting them and managing their fitness levels. Saf always knew that which is why he got a lot out of his older players.

Young and Valencia should have been managed more correctly in the last few years, especially since they play at such physically demanding positions. They are both burnt out now though, and good time for them to leave.
