Sky (I know) reporting a bid has gone in for AWB no figure quoted though, just substantial. Watch this space.

Sky make things up all the time, they are just trying to generate clicks and interest. Their deadline day shows have become embarrassing, they build them up into being ‘the most dramatic day ever’ and they are always a compete flop. They also have their own betting site which is dodgy. Creae a rumour and then watch the money go on it.

Fair comment AJH, I guess we’ll have to wait and see if there is anything to it.

Sky Sources, means we read it in the metro.

Love this to be true but I don’t see us paying over £50m for a fullback.

IDK about the fee but the player yes, he is exactly what we need. We need him and a very good center back and i think the defense will be sorted out, after that Ole or whoever is calling the shots can concentrate on balancing the midfield out. A right winger should be a priority.

As much as I think we will eventually sign him, I wouldn't believe any outlet that has as much influence over a betting market as Sly Sports.

Is wan bissaka really that good of a player? I know the market is inflated so I won't get into money. But do you guys think he would be an upgrade on Valencia. From what I've seem he seems good in defense but doesn't really contribute much going forward. He takes the ball forward like Valencia used to do but there is no end product just like Valencia. His crosses aren't that good and passing is also average.
Maybe you guys have seen much more of him at Palace so please let me know what you guys think of him.

{Ed004's Note - He is a brilliant player. Outstanding defensively and has the most successful dribbles of any fullback in the league. Hudgson doesnt seem to give the fullbacks much freedom to get forward but he got a couple of nice assists last season. I think he would be a cracking signing}

I agree with Ed's assessment of Wan-Bissaka. He has been really good defensively, arguably the best fb in the league defensively. And I don't think his offensive game can be questioned too much because as Ed4 stated, Palace aren't the most attacking team and Even if AWB was given the freedom to attack, he would be crossing towards Benteke, the most immobile forward in the league. He would produce better results crossing at a Lamppost than Benteke.

Even then for me personally, if we sign AWB and he turns into one of the best fb defensively but is only "average" in attack, I would gladly take it.

{Ed004's Note - I would argue he is the best fullback defensively. Only fullbacks I would have over him are Robertson and Trent due to their attacking threats.}

Slight tangent but for those that have seen Palace would Zaha be a good option to develop. Both would be used to playing with each other. Not seen enough to judge and also there is the never go back rule!
