Ed002, recent reports coming out that Bruno Fernandes may not be joining United now.

Do you know what's currently holding up the transfer?

We've been linked to him non-stop all summer.

Starting to get Gaitan vibes from this.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained repeatedly - it is very, very tedious for me to keep having to tell the same story over and over. Manchester United has not made a sufficient offer for the player.}

My bad Ed, I just saw the latest updates on Sky and assumed something may have changed recently.

Thanks for your response.

Weggy,

Read this page rather than the one with a betting site attached to it.

I can't believe people still believe things that sky say, they have been proved to know very little on so many occasions.

I don't know which is more frustratingly tedious, Utd's transfers procedure/ sysyem (lack of) or the 'remix' questions for the eds which are actually the same old monotonous tune.

Ed002's Note - The situation is that the amateurs dealing with negotiations for Manchester United are expecting their arrogant bullying will lead to clubs selling on the cheap or buying at inflated prices. Clubs are simply turning to look at other options as they are wanting to prepare for the season. }
THIS TOOK TWO SECONDS TO FIND WEGGY.

because united are wasting clubs time with pathetic bids.

if we are serious and want to move forward pay the money and move onto other players

i know the transfer process is a difficult one

but we know what its going to take to get maguire so pay up get it done, same with Fernandez

its really annoying that people who are dealing with the transfers think offering silly money that is nowhere near the valuation will get the players

we are just the same as arsenal in the transfer window. amateurs.

this may be an overreaction but if we are wanting to close a gap of 30 plus points we are not showing any signs of doing this.

anyway rant over.

It is sounding like we have not made any offer.

Don't appreciate the bandwagon onto ed's comment, especially by some who have a history of pissing the ed's off too. I simply asked if there was any changes to the transfer after seeing a fairly big news source report a change in the situation, I did not intend on upsetting anyone.

I have been on this site for nearly 10 years and I am well aware of the 'rules'.

How I understand it is Sporting have told us their price. They need to raise money to fund their own refund as they're still replacing players from last years debacle. They can make the money they need off Bruno or plan b by selling other players. We're aware of that and lowballed them hoping they take the first offer. Sporting are sticking to their guns so we need to stop messing around and make a better offer.

I can see us getting into the last few days of the transfer window and applying a scattergun approach. European clubs know that.

I'm not sure I buy into this suggestion that Utd overvalue their own players when selling yet undervalue other teams players when buying. If you look at the independent CIES site on player values Maguire is worth 50-70 million euros and Lukaku 90-120 million euros. Our club seems to agree with this valuation. The situation seems more like clubs bump up the price when Utd are interested but believe they can mug us off when they want one of our players.

It's only relevant if a club is willing to pay up. The whole concept of every player in world football having a set value is total bonk.

I think that given there appears to be no other interested parties in for Bruno.

We are clearly aware of the "gentleman's agreement" between the player and the club for him having stayed on last year.

So we are testing the clubs resolve knowing that if they fail to sell Bruno to us after receiving an offer above the agreed amount then the club will be forced to pay Bruno £5mil (allegedly) .

So if they don't accept by our deadline day then they are going to either have to hope someone else offers more, accept our offer or. keep Bruno and pay him £5 mill from their empty bank accounts.

The question for me is . have we offered more than any other club will? if we have then stick to our guns and get our man for the price we want.

The only risk besides another club offering more at the last minute is the club suddenly coming into cash to cover the £5mil due to Bruno if they don't sell.

Monk.

The problem is Woodward aka the Glaziers puppet.
David Gill would have 3 options to choose regarding players and get at least one over the line
Should results not go our way it will be Ole given the boot not woodentop.
I know we can't demand players from other clubs, And when man utd come knocking it's only right the selling club can milk us for as much as they can.
It's time woody realised this. Pay the dam money.
Be laughable if Fernandes signs for one of our rivals when we have supposedley been chasing him, Then he goes and wins the balon dor.
Dont want a Fellani type signing at 11:59 on transfer deadline day.
Bit worrying also that not many of under performing 1st teamers are not up for sale.

Rock I think they are up for sale with regards to the under performers. The issue is, and rightly so, nobody wants them.
