Ed02 - there has been a couple of reports in the Italian press that we want to replace OGS with Allegri - any truth to it at all?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The situation remains unchanged. Should Manchester United overcome their reluctance and decide to replace OGS then Max Allegri will be a possible option.}

With him being a possible option, we can assume the damage of messing him about years ago isn't a deal breaker. I wonder if we repaired the relationship or if he is simply a classy man who doesn't hold grudges.

{Ed002's Note - No it won't be a deal breaker - but I guess you know little of him if you think he is "a classy man who doesn't hold grudges."}

He's always sent me a Christmas card ed.

Thanks Ed.

Hypothetically, if OGS was to leave, who do you think personally would be a good choice to replace him with?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death. Please read the posts.}

If Allegri does belatedly arrive, does this mean a revert back to the previous plans you alluded to Ed?

{Ed002's Note - No, that was for 2017. Things were very different.}

Hi Ed,

Who do you think is best suited to the job? If you were in charge who would you hire?

{Ed002's Note - Laurent Blanc.}

Thanks for the quick reply Ed, I think blanc could be a good appointment. Makes sense therefore it probably won't happen. Its a pity you aren't the ED in charge 😂.

I honestly don't get blanc. He's been out of management for a long time and the club had changed out of recognition since his brief stint here as a player.

I thought the same Mort. Why aren't any other top clubs after him.

Sorry but Laurent Blanc does not do it for me. He was a square peg as a player, bought in desperation. Intelligent footballer but no Premier League experience as a manager and no one is knocking on his door at any of the top clubs. It would feel like another placating manager, that the fans may give more leeway to than another manager. We need to trust the next manager based on previous record, for a long period, it can’t be another guess and Blanc would be a guess for me.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe if you give him some cash he will do it for you?

I suspect you know little about him or the offers he has had. You deserve Sam Allardyce.}

Ed002

Interesting that you seem a strong advocate of Blanc.

I am concerned at why he hasn’t worked for 3.5 years. Why didn’t he take any offers? He was given a big pay out by PSG by all accounts so could choose to be picky, yet 3.5 years is a long time in football. Was he overlooked recently for the Lyon role? Did I read that he turn down the chance of United previously?

If we stay with OGS, Allardyce may get the call after Christmas, perhaps if OGS stays longer it would be a call to Neil Warnock next May.

{Ed002's Note - He has turned down offers that he did not see as suitable, and he spoke with Lyon.}

Would love blanc to be honest. He'd be a great fit.

I’d take Blanc over OGS and Pochettino - although Allegri would be my first choice.

Always loved Blanc as a player and thought he was a good manager. Ed002 has been consistent in mentioning him for us for some time now.
I think if OGS leaves Allegri may be the favoured one. Interesting if he does come what he gets out of Pogba if he's still here.
