Ed002 apologies if this seems like a stupid question but is grealish still a target or is it only if pogba leaves? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It would put him as a real target DH.}

Ed002 again sorry if this is a stupid question but if pogba stays at united any chance that united will still try to sign grealish.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot really answer that. Manchester United want Grealish and Pogba wants out - but the amateurs are just screwing around.}

Sorry Ed 002 I will rephrase it.
Would united want grealish if pogba doesn't move. Would a move for grealush be dependant on pogba leaving.

{Ed002's Note - No, the amateurs want Grealish but have gotten themselves in a situation with Pogba as I have explained over and over. You can seasrch - I have been explaining this for months and months.}

Thanks for all info Ed002. I’ve done a quick search on your kind precious posts and it seems as though the amateurs (presumably those not acting professionally by either not being compassionate to the players wishes or not understanding how the market works in reality), unless they change their thinking, will have to keep Pogba and allow him to run down his contract - unless they are prepared to take players in part-exchange (or let him go for a much reduced fee? Presumably they’ll never get back what they paid for him? )

Thus - and please forgive any repetition or ignorance on my part here - if United stay amateurish (ie not facilitating a move away) in their dealings with Pogba and his agent, they’ll have to keep him until his contract ends. and, if Pogba is with us next season, any move for Grealish will be cancelled, as they essentially play a similar position? Guessing they wouldn’t spend huge sums on Grealish to let him rotate with Pogba.

{Ed002's Note - Obviously this is not what I said. I will reaffirm that Manchester United would like to recruit Grealish - I have been explaining this for months. Pogba wishes to leave as I have also explained for a long time. There is no longer a relationship with his agent - otherwise the situation with Haaland could be very different. The opportunity to sell Pogba for a good fee has gone. There remains the chance to exchange him - selling him would bring in a lot less money - and over a period of time, not immediately. It is not a good job of running the business is it?}

Thanks Ed002, I think I finally get it (Sorry to be so slow and to waste your time spelling it out! )

Thank you as always for taking the time to keep us informed and for educating us about what’s really going on.

Take care and stay well.

{Ed002's Note - You are a Manchester United supporter, you are bound to be slow Wallace.}

I’ll take that on the chin Ed002, no doubt deserved lol!

{Ed002's Note - You are a good girl.}

Bit of luck the amatures will have pogba and grealish in the team next season.

I don't think pogba and grealish play in the same position so worse things could happen.
But if pogba wants to leave i don't see the point in making him stay going into the final year of his contract. Very few players are forced to stay somewhere and then go on to play their best.

But what if a good enough cash offer doesn't come in?

Also player exchange deals have historically been tough to do. Hard to find players that want to play for us in the premier league, want to come to manchester, won't ask for extraordinary wages.

Real reportedly offered a small sum plus james rodriguez last summer.

Barca reportedly offered a small sum plus andres gomes and yerry mina the summer before.

Would any poster on this forum accepted those rumoured offers at the time?

Maybe another premier league side could come in, that would be wishful thinking.

Do we not have an option of an other year?
Why does he want to leave?

10.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 18:49:20
There is an option for a further year. i'm sure of that.
Why does he want to leave? No idea jred. i'd imagine its a variety of reasons.

11.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 19:34:36
So he has 2 year left on his contract.
With out knowing why he wants to leave how can you know it can't be resolved?

12.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 20:49:26
Jred, I don't know if you have seen this before but the Ed's have explained that we cannot just activate the one year extension to either increase how much we sell him for or to make sure we get a fee next summer. That is considered profiteering.

He has one year on his contact our options are sell him this summer for something.

Or let him leave for free next year or the year after.

13.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 21:01:43
Shappy or we keep him for 2 year.
Or sell at exmas or he signs a new contract.
Also I don't think you have the profiteering thing 100% right.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs are not allowed to profiteer from pre-agreed contract extensions.}

14.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 21:16:50
So if we extend pogbas contract we can't sell him next summer.

{Ed002's Note - Not and profiteer.}

15.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 21:20:01
We sold both blind and berbatov after activating an extra year.

{Ed002's Note - Not and profiteered.}

16.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 22:12:29
So how do you sell a player and not profiteer.
What conditions can you sell him under as united have in the past activated an extra year in a players contract then sold him.

{Ed002's Note - Players can be sold but the club cannot use the extension to sell and profiteer - the distribution of the money does not go the club alone. The rules exist to stop such practice.}

17.) 02 May 2020
02 May 2020 23:09:00
So we could still sell pogba next summer if we extend his contract.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but not profiteer.}

18.) 03 May 2020
03 May 2020 12:33:17
He doesn't have 2 years left on his contract. He has 1 year left on his contract.
The club have an opt-in if triggering an extension.
That would not be as financially beneficial than if we sell him before triggering the option.
If a player does not want to stay and we trigger the option then the club cannot profiteer on the sale.
I think he either had to sign a new contract or be sold / traded in the summer.
If he signs a new contract them i can only assume he wants to stay and be committed.
If he doesn't sign a new contract then we need to get rid at the best terms available.
Its really that simple.
If a player wants out its usually best to let them go.

19.) 03 May 2020
03 May 2020 19:33:47
Jred, Why are u so desperate for us to keep him. He isn't worth the grief and he isn't even that good as what people make him out to be.

Its like your trying to chase a girl even though u know u have no chance.

Move on and find a better player or a player that is atleast commited to playing for us.

20.) 04 May 2020
04 May 2020 11:28:56
Singh i'm not desperate, bit like last summer I'm just not convinced he will leave.
Singh I said from the start he wasn't the player yourself and many others made him out to be, but he is a good player. Probably a better player than your now trying to make him out to be.

21.) 04 May 2020
04 May 2020 13:05:17
Perhaps if he can't play and can't move he can work in the megastore
then he could sign al the shirts with his name on and generate some income for the club. Just a thought.

I have no grievance with Pogba being sold. I would rather the club take a loss financially (lower fee) than accept players deemed not good enough from the clubs interested in him. I know it won't be possible, but the Club should be in a position to pick which player/ players that they want instead of having players they have no interest in forced (for lack of a better word) upon them. It's better to get players who genuinely want to play for the club and improve it than players who view us a step down because of our current predicament.
