Hi eds, I have read ferran torres will be allowed to leave valencia this window as his contract expires next summer. Do we have an interst in him? And if so do you see a possible move happening? He certainly would fit the profile of a young and hungry player that we seem to be looking at now.

{Ed002's Note - Ferran Torres (RW/LW) considered as a potential Jadon Sancho replacement but likely priced out of a move to Borussia Dortmund - will end up at Real Madrid or Barcelona in all probability at some point. But, if Salah were to depart Liverpool he could well become an option for them but for now that is not the case. The player has made no secret of his desire to join Barcelona. Valencia have a replacement lined up but the €100M asking price for Torres would need to drop to make a transfer anywhere viable this summer. Juventus has enquired after his availability but would need to make sales to fund a move. A third party has suggested to Manchester United that Ferran Torres would be a better option to Jadon Sancho as the deal would be far, far cheaper for them. Valencia has proposed a player plus cash for Torres proposal with another side recently but it is not seen as a good deal by the other side at this time.}

Thanks for the response and your insight ed002. I hope we go for him, from what I've seen he's going to be a top class player.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what will happen. Valencia want cash and Barcelona are the preferred destination - but need to raise cash for everything they are looking to do, or trade players.}

Ed in your opinion who would be the better option for Utd, torres or sancho?

{Ed002's Note - Ideally both players want to play for other sides - and that for me might be a reason to look elsewhere to find a player that fits and wants to play for Manchester United (or at least doesn't want to play elsewhere). The costs for both players are huge and that itself is going to be a problem - particularly with the demands of Sancho's agent. Although the costs for Sancho may have reduced a little it would be a significant. Sancho would be a lesser risk than Torres.}
