I know it's unlikely, and not on ed002 list but would anyone take bale on a season loan? Also, out of interest, what four players would you sign to make us competitive, or challenging over the course of the season on all fronts? If it was me I'd take 2 young promising players and 2 quality first team starters week in week out.

Considering the stick the likes pogba, rashford and martial have had over supposed “attitude issues” on here, surely that would rule any move for bale out of the question.

Hes hasn't exactly shown himself to be a top professional in the past few months.

I'd say no to Bale. I still think when fit he'd be one of the top players in the PL but even if we miss out on Sancho, I'd look at a few others who are younger and could be signed permanently before even thinking about Bale.

As for the competitive on all fronts question, I'll say we need more than four players before we can mount a serious title challenge or compete to win the CL.

Bale would be another Sanchez situation. No thanks.
I would love Ndidi but the price would be ridiculous. Fabrizano has stated that Partey is available for €50 mil so my 4 players would be Partey, Sancho, Telles and a cb, no preference as I don’t have enough knowledge on who I think would be good for us and attainable. Probably Gabriel.

Think Zidane has mucked him about a bit, and now he is shafting him back. But if you got him playing he could be excellent Would love us to move for neves and jimanez or even Edouard, if he were to leave Celtic, twice the player Dembele was at Celtic. But think a centre back is vital first before blowing the budget on Sancho, who doesn’t really want to be at the club and limiting Greenwood’s progress. Would avoid Grealish aswell. Looking at Fernandes, he playes like it means something to wear the shirt.

No to Bale.

If I had to sign 4 players it would probably be KDB, VVD, Messi and Mbappe.

Sorry, I’ve been outside enjoying the sunshine.

bale on his day as good as anybody but them days have gone.

We are more likely to see him on the pga tour that anywhere near his best on a football pitch again.

I was a huge fan of Bale, but that ship has sailed.
His wages itself will cause problems to the club.

My ideal 4 would be Sancho, Saul, Alaba, Jiminez.
These 4 would make us title challengers.

9.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 08:39:07
Who I would like:
lb davies, bayern
cb skriniar
mid saul
forward chiesa
who I think we'll get

Cb smalling
mid/ am grealish
rw sancho.

10.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 09:06:51
I’d go for Sarr, Edouard, neves, skriniar. Two ready for first team every game, two to alternate with what we have to avoid stalling any progress already made.

11.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 09:27:24
Bale? Is this the same Bale who was playing golf yesterday while his side got knocked out the UCL? That Bale. Absolutely not, he is in decline, injury prone, has a poor attitude and expects huge wages. He would soon knock Sanchez off his perch as the worst ever signing.

As for which four signings would I like to see?

Dream signings would be Sancho, Gimenez, Fabian Ruiz and Alex Telles

Cheaper/ easier/ more achievable signings would be Buendia, Gabriel Malaghaes, DvdB and Jamal Lewis.

12.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 09:31:49
Skriniar is another CB who lacks pace.
Giminez of Athletico, Upamecano or Pau Torres would suit us better.

Shappy what do you do on your days off?
Bale for united. Not for me but to be so self righteous to slag a bloke off for playing golf on a day off is pathetic imo.
He was not in the squad he was not allowed travel with the squad he was not on real madrid duty so why shouldn't he play golf.
The manager doesn't want him or play him a bit like bastian when he was here. What do you want bale to do sit at home on his day off?
Get a job working for the daily star with that bolloxology shappy. 😂
Not for united at this point i'd have loved him a few years back. Great player when fit and focused.
Amazing how some managers are considered bullys and called out by the likes if yourself but ole can cut the likes of dalot loose or zidane bale and there is not a word about it.
If your face doesn't fit and the manager doesn't fancy you then you have 2 options. Stick to your contact go through the family slog of training and adhere to the terms of your contract.
Or ask to leave.
Bale seems to have chosen the former which v is well within his rights and he has every right to play golf on a day off.

Ken, Bale refused to play against Man City this week.
That shows serious lack of professionalism.

15.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 11:54:22
No he didn't TRD he wasn't included In the squad. stay away from the clock bait TRD.

16.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 11:54:29
I would doubt the report he refused to play, think that’s just the Real Madrid soon on things because they too are probably wondering why a fantastic talent isn’t even making the bench. Don’t think the fans had turned against him til that point. I don’t think Dalot and ole is a comparison, because I think he is below standard required, but real are not what they were and bale could do a job.

17.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 11:57:01
Madrid would love bale to pull a stunt like that trd so they could fire him for gross misconduct and save themselves 600k a week.

18.) 08 Aug 2020

Ken, How true it is who knows, but Zidane said in the press conference that Bale refused to make himself available. While people associated with Madrid are suggesting that they regret pulling the plug on his 1m a week transfer to China.

It's a right mess. While Bale has also defied club doctors to play golf while injured which may or may not have exasperated his injuries and delayed his return for the club.

While he was pictured mocking the club and acting like a fool while watching Madrid play a few weeks ago. The whole relationship between the club and the player has soured and while I don't lay all the blame for that at Bale's door, he should still be acting professionally.

I think its a very sad ending to what a few years ago looked like a fantastic career. A real shame.

{Ed047's Note - which is easy for Zidane to say knowing full well he had no intention of using him if he did travel.

Zidane is an arse and glad those maggots are out of the UCL.

He has won lots helped his intl team to new unprecedented heights he is a multi millionaire. A bit like rooney you are left with the feeling he could have done even better than he did but overall i'd say he has fulfilled pretty much all his boyhood dreams and aspirations. Not that sad. i'd say he is pretty happy playing golf. He might even out last zidane at madrid.
Very few professional footballers think like fans. Its just a job to most of them. I think he has done petty well from his job.

20.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 16:28:11
The only way Bale would sign is if there was a golf course next door to the training ground.

21.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 18:15:46
Id love to see him have a good year or 2 somewhere. Bit of talk of juve, however true it is, they are the masters of a good free transfer and getting the best from aging players.
Could he be motivated again? i'm not sure. He seems to have just fallen out of love with madrid and the game in general.

22.) 08 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 20:21:26
I would, just think of the sponsorship deals if he plays in the Ryder Cup.

23.) 09 Aug 2020
08 Aug 2020 23:58:49
I always thought Bale would and should have ended up at Urd. But the way he has carried on for the last lot of months, would make me give him a huge swerve now. What sort of professional footballer would rather not play football. His agent is the only reason his name is even still mentioned. I'd forgotten he even still played football.

24.) 09 Aug 2020
09 Aug 2020 10:38:28
Not sure that’s fair Nou. He’s played well for Madrid when called upon, and when he managed to get a solution last year in China, the club blocked the move knowing he wouldn’t be in the coach’s plans. If I was him I’d take my 500k a week or whatever and live in a wonderful city until someone came along for me.

{Ed001's Note - the club never blocked the move to China.}

25.) 09 Aug 2020
09 Aug 2020 10:42:37
Albeit he has acted very immaturely in the sidelines.

26.) 09 Aug 2020
09 Aug 2020 11:15:44
Did he just not fancy it and?

{Ed001's Note - no transfer fee was agreed. The Chinese club wanted him on a free.}

27.) 09 Aug 2020
09 Aug 2020 13:00:15
Maybe a bit harsh, Eric. Just annoys me to see talent going to waste. You just know Ronaldo or Messi would be busting a gut to play football. Anywhere. And that's why they're top players. Does Bale really just want to be remembered for the size of his paycheck? Character-wise, I don't think the last year has shown him in a great light, and I think character is important when looking at potential signings.

28.) 09 Aug 2020
09 Aug 2020 14:04:25
Agreed on the character front, and in no way am I advocating we sign him. Think the club have been stung just that one too many times now (Di Maria, Sanchez etc)

29.) 10 Aug 2020
10 Aug 2020 12:42:32
I think Gareth is looking at the Euros for being his swansong. He will be happy to play a bit part role at Madrid for the year, turn up fresh for the Euros. The off on that golf buggy and his world golf tour with his mates.

30.) 11 Aug 2020
11 Aug 2020 18:23:00
Maybe Bale doesn't like playing football and isn't bothered about a career so he is content to take the money and do nothing.
