Hi ed,
There are reports coming out the United have made a “concrete” offer for Gabriel.

Is there any truth to this? It was only yesterday that it was being reported he had chosen Arsenal as his destination.

I know you mentioned Napoli and City have a verbal agreement on Koulibaly and that if he does leave, Gabriel would like to go Napoli.

Seems he is highly rated with some top clubs after him.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what a "concrete" offer is. Clubs rarely offer money for players without discussion. Manchester United spoke to those representing Gabriel last week. One offer from another side was withdrawn as they considered him a good player but immature and rather flakey. A decision on his future will soon be made.}

Thank you ed.

Are you able to confirm the side which has pulled out.

{Ed002's Note - Spurs.}

It’s been mentioned that Gabriel’s preference would be to join Victor Osimhen. It sounds like Napoli are one of the teams that have made a bid, so it would make sense that he is on his way there. I’m just joining the dots, could be wrong.

Bet he ends up at Arsenal.

I wouldn't be surprised if these United links in the past couple of days is so they can run the "whoever beat United to key signing" headlines.

Someone at Utd is hell bent on accumulating a very large centre back collection if this happens.

Eric79,

Hopefully it means we will actually get a top defender at last.

Mad hatter,

You mean til he has a poor game and everyone turns on him? That’s the usual process isn’t it.

Discountdave,

That is true. But given that our CBs have been poor most of the season.
I have always felt Bailly should be olayed at the back. A run of games and confidence he would be great at the back.

Not saying our defence has been great this season but it’s been no where near as bad as people would have you believe.

I agree with Bailly I think he can be good but the issue with giving him a run of games is that he can’t handle a run of games he’s far to injury prone.

I mean everyone raves about Tuanzebe but wouldn’t signing another CB limit his chances (admittedly he needs to prove fitness as well)

MH, That's the problem with Bailly, he gets injured far too often.
Tuanzebe also missed tons of games through injury.
Jones, I have nothing to say.

So what we can observe is, there is really noone to genuinely challenge Lindelof and Maguire.
