Lots of news flying around Upamecano to United.

Would be an amazing signing to add pace and power to our defence.

I think he would be a wonderful signing, perhaps even more significant than Sancho. Look at all the title winning teams - they all have a world-class defender at the back. I think Upenecano has the potential to be world class, up there with Virgil, Laporte etc

I’d be surprised if we got him though: Ed002 has always been very adamant that he won’t be coming here; whether that’s because he’s got a pre-agreement with someone else (Bayern? PSG? ), his release clause is huge or he’d rather go elsewhere.

Also, if other teams who need a CB (Most top teams, including Chelsea - seems a real lack of top quality CBS now) saw us nipping in, surely they’d make a play too.

Also, we have so many CBs at the club plus youngsters such as Tuanzebe, Mengi etc.

I would be over the moon if we got him (the feeling yesterday as VdB signing became reality was amazing) but just do t think it’ll happen.

ED002 said it isn't happening. He has just signed a new contract. We also have 8 CBs aswell.

Apart from. That, he would be a great signing. I d love to see it happen.

Rojo, Smalling, Jones all need moving on to make space. I am still hoping Bailly can have a run of games staying fit as I am sure there is a player in there, I do kike Lindelof I just don't think the partnership with Maguire is strong enough, Tuanzebe another can he stay fit. Mengi am looking forward to seeing but he maybe a little while away yet.
As per previous comments, top CB's aren't available or around atm, Upecemano would be on my list tho I think.

Our current CB options are woeful. Smalling, Rojo and Jones all had their chance and not good enough. Bailly and Tuanzebe too injury prone. That’s 5 players we cannot rely on in a 60game season. We should arguably be in for 2 centre backs and sell four of the above if not all five.
Maguire and New CB should. be first choice.
Lindelof and Mengi back up.
Probably Bailly retained from the above for squad cover.

I don't think he's coming.
But just because a player has signed a new contract doesn't mean they plan to stay somewhere.
