Eds is there any truth in the Spurs wanting Lingard and are we actively looking to sell James as well, reported interest for both today.

{Ed002's Note - Jesse Lingard (RW/AM) knows that Manchester United see him as potentially being surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and that the current coach is not keen on him - so, not unreasonably. there is an ad hoc agreement with Mino that allows him to look for other options for the player. Right now I am aware there have been approaches to several sides and that the couple who showed some interest have moved on. Interest in England I am told is thin on the ground although at least two sides have been approached - Spurs and Everton. Mr Mourinho knows the player well and could be open to taking him but he might have a problem persuading others at Spurs.

Daniel James (LW) after failing to sign JAmes last summer Leeds could look to him, perhaps on a loan deal initially, as an option to first choice Said Benrahma who is heading elsewhere.

I’ve been messaged by 2 Spurs supporting mates this morning saying there are noises from their end that a Dele Alli - Jesse Lingard swap deal isn’t sounding as daft as it may seem.

I would go for that but he would have to buck his ideas up, then again he would fit right in with our lot.

Fair to say Spurs fans don't want Lingard.

Would be a good move for the lad still really young with loads of potential.

Agree Wazza. Would take Alli as I think he will get better once he matures in 2-3 years. Jose doesn’t have patience with kids as much but he may fit in better with the similar age group we have with Marcus, martial vdb Henderson etc. Much better option than Grealish if we were still in for him like Ed said.

If Anyone from the Utd mgmt team is reading this page - please please please sell Pogba and get a good midfielder like Saul or Partey in so that we can play Two of bruno vdb and Alli behind the front three.

The swap would probably be a good move for both players, I don't think it will happen but for the various needs of ourselves and Spurs I can see it being discussed.
If Ali can get back to his best then you are looking at a real asset and rotation piece in the middle.

{Ed004's Note - Don't think we currently have a need for Alli and I'm sure spurs would value him higher than Lingard}

While I think it's time for Lingard to move on, I'm not sure how Alli would fit in our team, especially now we have signed DvdB.

I could see Alli coming in as a replacement for Pogba if he were to leave. I think we would struggle to name a balanced line up with midfield options of Pogba, Bruno DvdB and Alli all as offensive midfielders.

Also I'm not sold on Alli, he is one of those players who has been threatening to break out for years, he's 24 now and should be performing regularly to a high standard. He has the talent, does he have the right mentality?
