Romano gave an update on United's priorities. Thought it could be of interest.

1- Pogba, player is happy but has yet to make a decision
2- Bruno, new contract currently being negotiated.
3- Lingard, discussion with player to see if a new contract agreement can be reached to avoid losing him on a free.
4- DM, Rice top of list. Team wanted to fill the position last in the summer window but Ronaldo halted those plans. Unlikely for January, but may change if new names are considered.
5- Free agents, the club will consider several possible free agents, Romano mentioned Dembele as a possibility.

If we are interested in potential free agents then there are some good options. Kessie obviously, but Zakaria, Boubacar Kamara, Fati and Pedri at Barcelona, Romagnoli, Belotti, Insigne, Cantwell, Isco, Onana, Bernardeschi, Luiz Felipe and Zagadou are all potentially available next summer on a Bosman. Although I expect several of them to agree and sign new deals before then.

As well as players like Januzaj, Mkhitaryan, and Di Maria if people feel like they slipped the net and people would want to see them brought back.

Of course we could also look at Sean Longstaff who has been a target in the past. Or James Tarkowski if we want EPL proven.

Personally any of Kessie, Zakaria or Kamara would dramatically improve our midfield options.

While Romagnoli, Zagadou or Luiz Felipe would add some top class competition in defence.

Best ignore Fati and Pedri who will almost certainly sign new deals with Barcelona.

Totally agree with shappy when you mention Kessie and selective free agents
Still maintain we need rid of a fair few as well as bringing in / sorting the coaching and managerial side.

Need to really slim down tbe squad. Ship out (an get a few for if at all possible) :

Jones (end his misery and give him chance elsewhere)

Dalot (bring in other Spanish lad, Fernandez? )

Matic - great player but can’t last a match

Bring in Amad and Pellistri too

Probably missed loads out as well but you get the gist.

Rather Pogba went: too inconsistent and more of a luxury player

Would love Rice (but very expensive), Kessie and Gravenbach but competing with Real, PSG, Chelsea, Juventys etc for these and other too names mentioned.

Wallace, I agree that we need to slim down the squad. We have far too many players who just aren't contributing to our side. They are blocking the pathway for the youngsters as well.

Thanks Shappy, reading reports about how promising some of the youngsters are - know they’re a year or two off the first team squad but no harm in giving them some minutes when we’re comfortable and getting them to train with the first team.

Lad Ennis looks class.
