Ronaldo. I can hear the sighs from the Eds already so apologies in advance!

Realistically where do we see him going? No room at the inn striker-wise at City, Liverpool or Tottenham. Chelsea an obvious option but do we see him playing for another Prem team?

Bayern - can't see them paying his wages. He won't be going for less than his £500k a week and no doubt will want a 2 yr deal. Plus any transfer fee to United though that may be only £10m perhaps. But £60m in total for a 37/ 38yo?

Napoli - apparently interested but a step down? Any realistic chance of winning something?

Juventus - won't see him in their shirt again.

Milan clubs - affordability?

Barca - possibility if they can't land Lewandowski? But if they can't afford wages for Messi then Ronaldo in same bracket

PSG - again well stocked and surely would only go there if either of Mbappe (not happening), Messi or Neymar moved on.

Newcastle - no Champs League obviously and again a step down.

He's already turned down a move to US apparently.

We could have a nightmare scenario where Ronaldo wants to leave but doesn't, doesn't get as much game time as doesn't suit Ten Hag press, still costing us £25m in wages next year and blocks a new recruit.

Joy!

Said something similar the other day. I don't see anywhere he is an obvious fit. He will want to play for a side in the CL who are also competing in their league. They also have to afford the enormous wages. It's too much of a commitment for an almost 38 year old, as incredible as he is.

I reckon there's a bit of a stand off for the next week or so, there's a realisation that the sides he'd want to go to aren't interested and in the mean time United sign Malacia, Eriksen and get De Jong over the line while continuing to discuss Martinez. Ronaldo then backs the manager after having talks with Ten Hag.

Then since I'm guessing, he scores 50 and we win the league and Europa, he then goes off to Miami for the last 2 years of his career.

Mendes will come up with something.

If he doesn’t want to remain and roll the sleeves up, then head on. I get the club is a shambles or whatever he may think, but thanks for the return. Thanks for the memories and on you go.

If he goes anywhere my guess would be Munich.

If he wants to go, then he can but not Chelsea for sure. But i really don't want us to go into next season with Rashford and Martial as our first choice strikers.

worst nightmare, Ronaldo tries to engineer a move but nobody wants him, goes round throwing his toys out of the pram for the season and every week is the Ronaldo story.

Let Chelsea have him. He just might hold them back enough to let us sneak 4th place!

{Ed014's Note - hold them back ??

Dead serious Ed. It's amazing what a lack of movement can over inflated ego can do for a team!

{Ed014's Note - so you seriously think his goals won’t help them more than the other immobile lump that’s just gone out on loan.

Good luck with that thought!

Goodness no Ed, nobody's even considering Lukaku here! Lol I actually think Ronaldo would hinder their overall game compared to when they play Havertz up there.

{Ed014's Note - I mean he will be replacing the lump that was Lukaku but adding goals to Chelsea’s game. Not Lukaku to you.

How would he hinder a team without a goal scorer and the talent you’re lacking all around him?

It's a team game. He doesn't contribute enough to the build up, or work off the ball. There's not much coming short, even less running in behind or down the channels. And if your a high press team which I believe Chelsea would like to be, forget it. Saying that yes, obviously he will be there in the box to score a good few tap ins and headers.

Without Ronaldo and De Gea, Man U would not have finished in the top 10.

Yes Davy if you want to work it out using just a calculator it's that simple.

But they did play for United. wired, like saying if Salah and van dyke didn't play for pool they wouldn't have finished second. but they did. That's why United pay money do play them.

Ed I’d be really shocked if tuchel sanctions it. No doubt he will score goals there if it happens.

{Ed014's Note - I’d be amazed too mate

Setting aside money. A romantic return to Sporting? A better chance of domestic silverware plus CL football.

Ronaldo has said he will finish his playing career at Sporting, if only for one season. It is not the worst suggestion. Whilst his star is only going to decline from now on I suspect he will want another 2 years at a 'top champions league' club before his farewell season in Lisbon.
