Good evening Ed, just a quick question if u don't mind?! Are the club now looking a ziyech? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any=y approach to Chelsea at this time, but obviously EtH knows the player.}

Ziyech could be a sensible move if Antony is proving too expensive/ difficult.

He knows EtH and his system/ style of play.

He knows the EPL and shouldn't take time to adjust to playing for us.

He wouldn't cost a huge fee, potentially leaving more in the kitty to spend elsewhere.

While I also think his age (29) is a positive. He would add experienced to a young side, while not being a long term road block on path into the first team for the likes of Garnacho, Elanga, Shoretire, Amad and Pellistri. Allowing several of them to go out on loan and gain the experience they need to come back and make that step up into the first team.

Would be a positive acquisition, if true. Would have him on the left wing in the mould of tadic for Ajax.

Personally I feel it is a poor signing. A short term solution that will cause us problems in the future if we are trying to move him on and replace him with the right player. As I don’t see us giving him a one year contract.
It’s a panic buy regardless of his affiliation with ETH. Too often we don’t wait for the player we actually need. I would rather see some of our young players given the opportunity. You would have to feel bad for them if the manager brought in a Chelsea outcast instead of giving them a chance.

I don't think the Chelsea fans rate him but I think he'd be a solid pursuit, maybe as an alternative to Antony who is looking less likely. The Utd premium tax seems to go up by the day.

I don't think it will be a bad signing.
You look at the stats, Ziyech and Antony look similar. 29 is not old.
Also if ETH thinks he will play well, let's get him.
Abraham and Tomori improved when they left Chelsea.
If ETH wants Ziyech, I hope the board are not against it. ETH needs to be backed.

{Ed001's Note - have you watched Ziyech play? He is like a lazier, worse Mahrez mate. Avoid like the plague, he is simply not that good.}

Salah and De Bruyn were turdesque at Chelsea too to be fair.

Agreed Ed001, Ziyech a disaster. Ironic, because Rohan is the exact type of fan that would be calling for his head.

He has been nothing but underwhelming since he came to the premier league.

For a wide man, i don't think i have ever seen him beat his opposition full back

Also he has this tendency to just hoof the ball into the box in the name of creativity or shoot from ridiculous angles that have little chance of coming off. We already have Bruno doing that, don't need another player.

If it means not having to watch Elanga, I’d take it!

Would rather sign nobody if we can't get Antony. Keep Sancho right and give the rest of the game time to garnacho and amad. They need it.

Ah have we decided Elanga isn’t good enough now? Bring kids through then slate them after a season in a poor team.

Don't see the slating of elanga. Still an unknown quantity. He may turn out to be a good little player, he may not. Still rather blood him than buy ziyech. He's been dreadful at Chelsea. Elanga has shown early promise.

GDS2 - TBF Elanga hasn't done anything to prove he's good enough and deserve to be around the first team.

I think he wouldn't be around first team if it wasn't because of lack of depth.

Just like Amad and Pellestri I don't think they're ever going be good enough for Man Utd.

Short memories at times on players.

Elanga came in and made an impact last season, but then as the form fell completely off a cliff he was run into the ground. He is a very talented kid and while he may not go on and be a world beater, he adds some value to the squad and let's see where he ends up in a couple of years. He has some good attributes that if developed could see a pretty good player.

GDS, who's slating Elanga?

I like him and this attitude, I do wonder whether he has the skills suited to EtH's more cerebral style. He does seem to suit a more simplistic counter attacking approach. However, we'll only know if he's given the chance.

The issue is that about whether Elanga gets a chance.

It's about squad depth. Currently Elanga is the third most experienced option to be play in the wide areas.

He is 20 years old with less than 2000 minutes in the senior team, which equates to around 21 full games.

If either Rashford or Sancho get injured then then Elanga starts and has to play the whole 90 minutes more of less.

If one of Sancho or Rashford are struggling for form than Elanga is the first option to replace them.

Beyond Elanga we have Amad who has failed to make an impact either with us in his limited minutes or on loan with Rangers. Pellistri who has also not torn it up on loan. Or a recently turned 18 year old Garnacho.

I'd expect one of not both of Amad and Pellistri to head out on loan. Leaving just Elanga and Garnacho as back up to Rashford and Sancho.

Realistically we need another senior option in the wide areas. Especially given Rashford's poor form and injury record over the past 18 months.

If we have some decent cup runs, especially in the Europa League then we could play as many as 60 games this season. That equates to around 5400 minutes of football.

Players typically play 2500-3500 minutes a season. More than that risks fatigue and injury.

If Rashford and Sancho can play 7000 minutes between them in the two wide roles that still leaves 3800 minutes to be picked up by other wide options. As I've said Elanga managed just under 2000 minutes last season. Could he double that game time this season?

We need 4 maybe even 5 viable wide options in our squad, with all of them picking up between 2000-3000 minutes.

Currently we have two options, a kid with less than 2000 minutes under his belt (Elanga) and a younger kid with 15 minutes of senior football under his belt (Garnacho) .

It’s very simple. Both Elanga and Ziyech aren’t good enough in my eyes. You can look into it as much as you like, but the facts are there for all to see.

Wasn't Ziyech a problem behind the scenes at Ajax, seem to remember it coming up before Chelsea signed him, if so that's the last thing we need.
