I can't ever recall a Goalkeeper been nominated for the Ballon D'or, maybe wrong though.
Yes, he deserves a mention for last season alone.

I agree just read the list.

It is a Bayern, Barcelona, Real madrid team sheet with a few others. How is yaya toure on the list, he had a poor season last year.


Then you have guys like Mascherano, Karim Benzema, Lewandowski, Ivan Rakitić, who are good players but no where near even being thought of being last years best footballer.

Yaya for the African interest. It's all so political, these awards stink. Look at Messi winning best player in the last World Cup. They are a joke.

If it is calendar year then stating Rob L shouldn't be on the list is a bit silly. Just saying GCU.

But agree with Beast. Political list as always.

Only one keeper and one defensive minded player says it all. Yes, goals win games, but not conceding goals avoids losing games and both are equally as important.

And yes, I am an old (in playing terms) , bitter defensive minded player ;-)

The list is a complete joke, just like FIFA. My sister would make a list of more deserving players and she doesn't like watching footie and rarely pays attention even when she is in the same room with when i am watching it. How ddg isn't on the list is puzzling and so is the fact that mascherano, rakitic, toure and others made the list.
