I hear so many people that don't want mourinho. Seriously? The man is a serial winner. Won titles in Portugal, England, Italy band Spain. Guaranteed top 4 and trophies. People say he plays negative football which I disagree with. I seem to remember his Porto side entertained as did his Chelsea team with players like robben, lampard and drogba. Yes mourinho may park the bus but he tends to do it when his team is one or two up. He's a lot more adaptable than lvg with regard styles, formations and motivation. Mourinho beat peps Barcelona outscoring them and boringb teams don't do that. Lvg has spent a fortune. Had you given mourinho that he'd of brought not only better players but I guarantee the team would have more balance. Mourinho I'm certain would and could get more out of the players we have. We have some good players behold are performing at half of what they are capable. The players are miserable and unhappy with the style the training and man management of lvg. Mourinho won a treble with inter and they weren't a great side. Managers aren't going to have the longevity fergie did and wenger will be the last of that breed. I'd take 3 years of winning or at least challenging under mourinho. I for one believe he would understand the traditions of the club and play a style that everyone would be happy with. I think he also would adhere to United way in all forms as the manager of our club . You don't win what he has without having something special. He would have a point to prove its a job he's clearly always has designs on. Mourinho should be made manager asap in my book.

Without repeating all the old arguments, how about what went on at Chelsea this year? That team won the League last year and yet they can't get into the top half of the league even with a new coach. We've got the Caniero incident, rumours of players not playing for him but most importantly a Shillong turnaround in their form.

His track record is up there with the very best but I thought he had lost it mentally earlier in the season. Who knows if he has reflected long and hard and considered if he needs to change in some way (I doubt it) but if he could learn some humility, even a tiny bit, it would go a long way to changing some of our minds.

I think that there are some Chelsea players, Terry, etc who love playing managers and helping managers getting the sack. Also Roman isn't the best of owners around and so are Madrid who sack perfectly decent manager in ancelotti.
United would definitely give him the backing, and the fact that he would cut out fellaini, mata and other slower players and sign willian or hazard or faster players would help us.
I just hope he gives youngsters the chances in the fa cup or league cup if he ever comes here.
Can't think of anyone but him for the managerial role.
Guus Hiddink maybe?

But don't we have different expectations to real madrid and chelsea. For me all that is a required of a utd manager post fergie is to make top 4 to keep the board happy. At no other club where jose has worked has that been the goal. Its all been about winning trophies.

Irwin3 I agree with everything you say except that inter side was excellent julio cesar zanetti Lucio Samuel motta cambiasso they were rock solid, sneijder eto and milito were fantastic counter attacking. People massively underestimated that team.

Surely what this season should show us, is that there's no 'guarantees' in football.
