If, as reports are showing, Raul Jimenez is on his way to us for 27million are to be believed.

How would he and the other forwards we have all line up especially if we sign Sancho as well?

I think Jimenez would be a great signing. Good work ethic, strong on the ball and good in the air.

All about adding quality to the squad now. Very good player, actually been surprised with how well he’s performed.

His goals per game record is pretty good. I've no idea what kind of player he is though.

I do not believe it one bit. But he would be a cracking signing.

I reckon they will plomp for ighalo anyway for another couple of years. Allowing martial and mason to fight it out. Would be a decent move.

Would love Jimenez. Need some quality competition for martial and If we want to compete on all fronts, we need more of this. Ighalo no matter how he’s done, is awful. Martial will have no worries about him. He can’t dribble or finish. Sooner we get rid of Ighalo the better.

Trumours,

Very harsh on Ighalo, ‘no matter how well he has done’, so you made your mind up and despite him being good for us you’ve decided he’s awful.

I think signing Jimenez is very unlikely.

There will be no bashing of Odion Igahlo on my watch! Cult hero 😂.

GDS2

sorry, my wording could have been better.
Yes he’s scored a few goals but it was against poor opposition. Did he get a goal in the prem? I just don’t think he’s good enough if we want to challenge. We need a big squad but I think we need a better back up than Ighalo. He wouldn’t replace the goals of martial if he were to get injured.

It's a no from me, brilliant player but will be over priced. Trumours bit harsh on ighalo he's done ok imo, hard for any player to make a proper mark on a team when they play with a weakend team in the cups or the odd 10 minutes here or there, I think he's done what he was signed to do and has chipped in with a few goals when he's been given a start. I agree we need more strength in depth but considering we have rashy and greenwood who can play there it's not a nessecity.

The rumors are not that he will sign for us for £27m, but that wolves have agreed a deal for his replacement (Paulinho) for that amount. A deal for Jiminez would likely cost us two or three times that amount.

I really don’t see it happening, not just because of the finances, but because of his age and the fact that there are several other areas of our squad that are in much more pressing need of reinforcement (the argument could perhaps be made that a new striker is the least important position when it comes to potential incomings) .

{Ed0666's Note - if you have the opportunity to buy Jimenez at a decent price then I would be salivating at the thought. He’s a brilliant player, a silky Teddy Sheringham if you will or a poor mans Bobby Firmino. I think Raul Jimenez would be an absolute sensation for you, links play superbly, makes space, has lovely vision and scores goals.

I think they got the 2 and the 7 the wrong way round.

Can’t disagree with any of that, Ed - but the key being ‘decent price’, which I really don’t see being the case.

I do think somewhere down the line we need another striker, but if signing Jiminez now means not signing a RW, CB or CDM (which I see as being much more important), I’d rather steer clear.
