People talk about ole blooding in youth but to not even give one youth player a start vs a wifi password whilst being 5-0 up at OT shows his weakness. Cowardly behaviour.

He needed to give playing time to the fringe players so that if we get any injuries in the next couple of weeks they have played some football. He also gave a debut to an 18 year old and we finished the game with 5 academy players on the pitch I believe. Sounds like you’re just picking fault for the sake of it.

While I'd have loved to see a couple youngster get more minutes. The reality is that we may need one or two of our squad players later in the tournament.

Do we want to be in the position where McTominay or Fred need to play in the final against Inter having hardly played any minutes in months?

I don’t hate Ole, that is a totally inaccurate statement. Nor did I call him a “coward”. I do think he is too careful especially in a game like that.

Why when we are five nil up, five away goals at that, did he wait so long/ too long to give youngsters a chance?

Red Man, To be fair to GDS, he never said you called him a coward, you did however refer to him as pathetic which is quite inept to say the least. No wonder people infer hatred for Ole when you make such comments. We have regular 1st team subs who had hardly kicked a ball since resuming yet we whine about academy kids not being given a run, the more I type about this the more I assume Trumours was being sarcastic.

I think that a bit harsh calling a coward. I'm liverpool fan I think he's done a remarkable job and has given many young players a dedut he's shown bravery not cowardice. he's been under immense pressure from day one with majority of people doubting his ability. he's done more youth players at utd in a season and half than Jose ever did his is whole career. Give the guy some credit.

Angel Gomes just left and some scratch their heads and wonder why, whilst at the same time justify Mengi coming on with 5 mins to go. It has been said on here there is no plan for the kids development. So have 5 minutes at the end of a game we were 5 nil up, does anyone think that is a plan for development?

We were 5-0 up starts players like Maguire when wasn't needed.

Could've easily started mengi and Gardner also.

What's the point in taking youth and giving them 6 minutes or no game time. It's a wasted journey and if I was a player is be fuming.

Ed002 is spot on about the toxic fan base, Ole can't win, the guy has put more faith in our youth players since sir Alex. He is getting minutes into the squad players that we will need if we want to win the Europa league.

I hope he goes on to win the Europa, that way a lot of people can eat a bit of humble pie, saying he hasn't won anything, even though he has won trophies at Molde but they obviously don't count and on gomes, the games I watched him play in the first team he was average and didn't take his chance yet greenwood has lived up to the hype.

We’re deep into a tournament with three games left where the first team squad needs to be fresh and vital minutes we’re afforded to the back up players in this squad. OGS has done just that. Oh - we won 7-1 on aggregate by the way too but don’t let that get in the way.
