I saw this sent in to the Everton site by Birkenhead dreamer and thought it should be shared here too:

Not Everton related but I've just finished decorating a house on the wirral, a single mum with 4 kids, knock on the door and it was rashford with 2 others delivering food to her, he even asked if she cld get by until payday, she replied its 1 of her kids birthdays, 2 hours later a blank envelope was posted with £200 in it, just thought i'd give him a mention.
Coyb.

What an amazing young man. Kindness personified. Thanks for sharing this Ed, great way to start the day.

{Ed001's Note - I think everyone deserves to know what a great lad he is.}

Top class ed001. But what a shameful country we live in, ran by corrupt people.

{Ed001's Note - very true angel, it shouldn't be him having to do it, but we can all be thankful that there are still some great people in this world.}

If he doesn’t get letters after his name in the near future I’ll eat my hat. Of course, that’s not the motivation here but it will be good to see him recognised. Arise Sir Marcus.

{Ed047's Note - footballers do come in for a lot of stick and a lot do stuff behind the scenes, as he’s endeavoured to do here.

Hats off to him, he’s doing some great things.

Ed001 could we ban any posts from here on in that criticizes what Rashford is doing for the community. Frankly they are ignorant people who are jealous and entitled people with heads too deep inside their Arse and too selfish. And this happens more on other platforms.

Criticize his performances on the field but don't be an idiot and try to find fault in what he is doing for the underprivileged.

WHAT A GUY WE HAVE ON OUR HANDS. TOP TOP HUMAN and a great example to the young kids everywhere.

{Ed001's Note - I can't believe anyone would criticise him to be honest. I have certainly not seen it or I would comment at the very least. The lad is doing great things and is one of very few people actually trying to bring people together.}

Rashford is a top human. I mentioned he was doing stuff like this to an idiot in the pub last week and his response was "what's a few hundred to him". Totally lost on some people. Marcus we are proud to have you. There are many that do things in the background that never really gets media attention because it's not always the way with our corrupt media. Ozil for expamle does a lot behind the scenes but it's more fashionable to vilify him.

He is the fast becoming the role model that many a young kid and adult should aspire to emulate.
What a fantastic job he is doing not only to raise awareness but to make a significant impact and difference for so many people.
He will get all the plaudits and recognition he deserves, but is not seeking.
He will have bad games and go through rough patches of form and people will comment on that as they see fit but we should never mix the 2.
I really hope he has an outstanding season on the pitch too, to complement his outstanding charity work.
Top lad and one the club and all united supporters and indeed wider football fans can be, and should be proud of. He brings a sense of honour and pride to the whole footballing fraternity imo.

It might have been on the live chat tris.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok I never read live chats, they always seem to bring out the worst in people.}

Assuming that's true, and I can't imagine why an Everton fan would just make it up, I think he might be my favourite footballer ever.

I don't care if he doesn't quite hit 100% performance on the pitch. If the reason his head isn't quite in the right space on game day is because he's realised how rich and spoilt footballers compared to the struggling families that adore him and his kind and wants to go out there and use his fame and money make a difference then f. football, some things are just more important.

And I've seen posts before saying something along the lines of "maybe rashford should be focusing on football" if he has an off day. Well, I think anyone who feels that way has the wrong priorities in life
.

Honestly I get goosebumps just reading that.

What an inspiration. Proud to be from the same town as him and see how much he has achieved at such a young age. His must must be incredibly proud, and we should be to that one of our own has made such a big difference to the lives of many young people.

I had a tear in my eyes reading that Wazza. The lad is younger than me has already done so much goodwill I can only dream of.

Top Top Human.

Ed001 this needs to be spread on all the banter pages.

{Ed001's Note - it has gone on the Liverpool one as well, I agree though everyone should read it.}

A great young man, who's parents should be very proud of him, he might be a millionaire now, but he remembers where he came from, a proud working class socialist lad.
