Bailly is a better defender than them all. he is just rash. With some proper coaching he would be a beast look at his blocks yesterday he ran face on to the ball where as Crappy Maguire ducked liked the school bully was throwing him a punch.

Victor lindelof is miles better than HM too. I agree he makes the odd mistake but he does and tries a lot harder than the POS maguire.

Look at his blocks and then look at that pass he played to Matic.
How much more coaching does he need, he's been here for 4 seasons now. He's constantly injured, full of mistakes, rash in his tackles.
Simply not good enough along with Maguire and Lindelof.
The best centre back at the club is being shipped out to Rome and i never though i would say that about Chris Smalling.

He defends as his life depends on it unlike many other defenders. But his rashness is still his main weakness.

The reality is that we have 3 okay CD's in Maguire, Bailly and Lindelof but not one great one between them (and I was a supporter of Maguire previously. The reality is that we will not sign a Koulibaily or Upamecano in this window who would make a difference so we need to look at what we do going forward.
To me we either need to look at moving to a back 3, have Shaw on the Left side and Bailly on the right with either Maguire or Lindelof in the centre. Or move Pogba further forward/ not play at the minute. I think we need to add extra cover at the back, whether that is VDB next to Matic who has more energy or a McTominy next to Matic.
In essence we may need to sacrafice attack to sure up at the back. altrnatively be more agressive in the attack and accept the games may be 4-3 results!

Agreed, Bailly is our best centre back and if (big if) he can stay fit, he should play. I certainly do not want to see him in the Phil Jones suite at Carrington.

The only 2 issues I have with VL is 1 he can't head a ball and 2 he is not strong enough on the ball, apart from that what a player!
