Interesting read. I like the fact that three of the top five learned their trade in the United academy. Totally agree that Henderson should be playing as a first choice keeper, I'd have him ahead of DDG on current form.

Did Ben Foster retire Tris? Or do you think he is really that bad? Because despite his age I would still have him above the likes of Rutland.

{Ed001's Note - I don't rate him at all, he made so many mistakes last season that he was at massive fault for their relegation. He is one of those players who lack heart, when things are going well he is average but as soon as it turns against him, he falls apart and is dross. Nice guy and all that, but bottles it when the pressure is on.}

I remember a Burnley game in the background at my dad's and it was in French, the commentators kept saying 'Tommy Tong', it took me a while to work out it was Tom Heaton.

{Ed001's Note - it is funny you should say that, I was watching some footage of Raphael Guerreiro for his player profile earlier and couldn't figure out who Grrrrr was for a while. Then realised they meant Guerreiro. And Bruno was being called Ferntch. Really distracting it was!}

My simple observation on Ben Foster was about his kicking. It supports what the Ed says, when everything was going well Foster kicked well, kicked it miles, yet when things weren’t going well, the kicks became obviously wayward.

{Ed001's Note - it was quite bizarre just how bad he became at everything. Last season he was really good but this season he looked like someone who had won a competition to play in goal but had never actually played in goal before. Or kicked a ball. Or even seen a ball at times.}

I don't say Foster is a bad keeper but I was taken back reading an interview whereby he said all that European travelling wasn't for him the he was at United and how the big clubs always need you to be at the top of your game and that's not for everyone, got to enjoy the game . obvioulsy i'm paraphrasing but he was basically saying its tough at the top and not necessarily for him. I thought wow, no wonder you never were top class. no drive or heart to get there.

It’s amazing Pickford gets into the top 10 Ed, he’s an awful goalkeeper!

I agree we used to have some fantastic keepers up until 10-15 years ago.

Henderson at number 1 says it all.

I've always found it funny Ed, I remember an England versus France match in the 90s and the English commentators never pronounced Djorkaeff's name right (should be jor-ka-ef) and at one point he struck the ball and the commentator yelled 'jerkoff and seaman', me and my dad were laughing for the rest of the game. I don't know how you get Ferntch from Bruno though haha.
