Is Ole getting his excuses out to the media regarding Maguire. He said Maguire picked up a knock before his red card. I can see him being dropped for the Newcastle game with media being told he's injured.

The worrying thing about the start to our season is the lack of morale, particularly in our CB's. Lindelof and Maguire have had stinkers.

It may be easier to say he is injured if that suits. No need to humiliate more than he has humiliated himself over time past couple of months.
Its only as big a deal as people make it.

His form is entirely down to his head not being in the right place. None of us know what actually happened in Greece or what Harry went through and still seems to be struggling with.

Ultimately I think he needs to be taken out of the team for his own good. If that means the club "make up" an injury so he can save face then so be it.

Harry Maguire might not be the best defender to ever pull on a United shirt, but he is our player and we need to rally around him. If that means nodding and agreeing that he's injured and to just move on then fine by me.

Agreed Ken, it’s a good shout from Ole if he does drop him and spin it that he’s got a knock. Give him a week out the spotlight to get himself straight.

If Bailly and Maguire are out then I could see TFM Lindelof and Shaw being our back three. All good on the ball, TFM and Shaw are quick and capable of covering wide. Although I would be concerned with aerial balls.

To be fair he was clearly injured before he got sent off, whether that’s a convenient reason or not he was hobbling around and was probably the reason for the heavy touch.

McTominay at the back is a bad idea, he has been really poor for Scotland. Think McGuire having “a knock” is the best for him just now. Genuinely don’t think he has proved to be better than Jones and definitely not better than smalling could have been. Don’t know why we aren’t signing a proven centre half from the domestic scene to see us through.
