If Maguire and Lindelof had been terrible today and we let goals in I would expect more posts slagging them off so I think it's fair to say that they were 2 huge positives coming out of this game, from where they were 2 weeks ago they have shown good spirit and improvement and hopefully that continues.

Not withstanding the Undertaker trying to choke out Azpilecueta. What did you make of that? Smalling would have been absolutely smothered here if he did it but at 80m i think you are allowed that.

Huge improvement in defence compared to the first 2 weeks.
AWB is back to his best.
De Gea was a spectator and literally had to do nothing.
Both teams didn't want to loose but we created the clear cut chances to score.

You are saying United played that way because they didn’t want to lose? That is the psyche they went into the game with at home! Do you think that is acceptable?

Lindelof played well, Maguire was still dubious, could have cost the game with better refs and left acres of space several times because he was caught out of possession. He and Fred didn't have good games, James isn't even worth mentioning at thi point.

Shan,

I think he got away with one and was very good for the other 93 minutes and 50 seconds, from where he was 2 weeks ago to keep a clean sheet is a great improvement.

I am not arguing he wasnt better than 2 weeks ago but if VAR doesn't cheat, Maguire gives away a penalty and that clean sheet isn't there. Plus Chelsea were as scared as us to attack so our defenders didn't have much to do as such.

Or De Gea saves it, a penalty doesn’t equal a goal. It didn’t cheat, we’ve had plenty for for us as well as against us, just one of them things.
