Woodward publicly backs Ole:
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward publicly backed Solskjaer saying: "On the pitch, while there is still hard work ahead to achieve greater consistency, we remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole as the team continues to develop. ‘.

Well this could mean one of two things.

Either Ole's job is safe and the powers that be feel he is doing a good job and moving the club in the right direction.

Or, they are thinking about sacking him, but need to keep a "United" public image. So is backing him publicly.

Votes of confidence do not always achieve what they set out to do. Usually it’s look over your shoulder time. We will see.

I agree with Red Man, the only manager I can actually remember getting the dreaded vote of confidence and still being in a job 3 months later was actually Ole himself last December.

Shappy

I would be guessing but given the financial numbers I suspect they want to portray stability more than usual. It can be unsettling to shareholders if there is uncertainty

Nice to agree by the way.

Id imagine they will stick with him unless things take a significant turn for the worse.

Vote of confidence from the board? That means the last result against Everton gave him another 1 maybe 2 premiership games in the job.

Only way they will sack Ole is if he goes four or five matches without a win and the team plays badly.
