Got my hopes up there ed001. Thought there was going to be a Fresh Prince reunion ðŸ˜.
{Ed001's Note - they keep saying there is going to be one, but it is one of the women who played Aunt Viv that stops it happening. I can't remember whether it is the original one or the replacement, but she is apparently extremely difficult to work with.}

Think it’s the original one, she wasn’t happy about being replaced and has been hard to deal with.
{Ed001's Note - I think you are right but she was replaced because she was hard to deal with, if I am remembering correctly. That seems to be coming to mind now you have said the original one.}

I reckon they could just replace her again. As long as you get the bulk of the characters back. I never cared for either of the Aunt Viv's. She will be missing out on a pig payday.

The original Aunt Viv had a huge fallout with Will Smith which was why she left in 1993. She has since blamed Will Smith for her inability to get roles after leaving the show. So I highly doubt she would even be considered if they were to make a reunion episode.
Also James Avery who played Uncle Phil died a few years ago. Which would mean the reunion wouldn't feel complete, and they would have to deal with that somehow.
While I loved the show and it was a part of my childhood, I think it is something that should maybe remain in the past.
{Ed001's Note - what? Noooo bring it back! It could be like Cobra Kai - I thought that would be a terrible idea bringing Karate Kid back all these years later but it is actually really good. They use just enough nostalgia to remind you of your childhood but also give you a completely different viewpoint on what happened to make you rethink the film. Thinking about it, not sure they could really do that with Fresh Prince, but they could bring back the Carlton dance!}

It was the original woman who played Aunt Vic. Although she did say it was because how Will Smith treated her etc.
I remember when they re did Red Dwarf, it wasn't as good as the original series but still quite enjoyable.

Just saw a video on YouTube with Will Smith and Janet Hubert (original aunt viv) seems they have made up. That could mean a new show is on the way. I agree though that sometimes shows match their time and the world during that era, reboots don’t always work as the jokes don’t land and people’s expectations are different.
{Ed001's Note - KPee on the Liverpool site was saying Will Smith is producing a reboot, but it is to be less comedic and a bit more serious.}

Sorry to burst any bubbles but it was done about 2 weeks ago. Aired on HBO. Just a reunion not a re-boot though. There was a whole extra show with some American psychologist about what went on with Will Smith and the original Aunt Viv. Can't tell you more than that as I didn't watch either of them although I'm led to believe that the reunion was a bit of a tear jerker.

They brought Red Dwarf backnojt a while ago. Although the Americans did a version of it aswell. shocking.
