Same day as George best i think.
What a player.
Scored one of the best goals I've ever seen in 86 world cup to knock England out.
He also scored a lovely solo dribbling goal in the same game.

My favourite player of all time. Destroyed the myth I was told growing up that 1 man doesn't make a team or can win games alone when watching the 1986 world cup when I was just 8 years old. Just watch some footage of the sort of challenges/ tackles he used to evade or receive. Many modern era players including Messi wouldn't have survived the 80's and 90's.

I was lucky enough to watch him live best player of all time imo .
Very questionable character tho with some pretty questionable views .
There is an entertaining docu series on netfix about his time as manager of a team in Mexico, its worth a watch.

when he went to napoli he said we will win the league. then did. players today did not face the tackles he did. most of time he danced round them. great player like all the flawed genius a one off.
