Why Shan?

Oldest rule in management. You get lucky with a red, especially in the champions league, you take your man off. Shame the excuse for a Manchester United manager seems new to this sport.

I always try and find a balance to my opinions shan but it's impossible to defend solskjaer in anyway at all tonight, forget half time I would have taken him off straight after the headbutt.

Fred was a ticking time bomb, even my 9 year old asked why he wasn't subbed, oles in game management was absolutely atrocious and its showed he will never be anything more than average.

Yes we should have taken those chances start of 2nd half, not oles fault but the changes should of already happened and I'm pretty certain a goal would have came with 11 still on the pitch, I'm sorry but the decisions tonight were shameful.

He got it consistently wrong throughout the game.

Van De Beek should never be dropped no matter who plays who doesn't.

We subbed Rashford who was arguably our best player and we were chasing a goal.

Martial wasteful again, and should be subbed around 60 mins.

Fred, should be subbed the next min he got lucky yellow card.

McTominay did nothing all game, nothing.

AWB should be hooked at 60 mins, he looks knackered.

Pogba coming on, I would rather play dan james than Pogba. Pogba needs to go. I absolutely lose my mind when Pogba sub comes on ahead of van de Beek.

Ole should be sacked but we won't do it because we are stupid.

OK, it must be just me that thought we were unlucky to lose. This is the first United team in years I enjoy watching. Ole has put together a squad that's able to give any team a game. Fred should have been sent off and it was stupid but he gives all he has every game. It's great to see a united with passion. If Cavani or Martial score their chances we are through. It seems no matter what Ole achieves he will be criticised if he loses a game.

Remi this isn't about today's performance, I thought we were really good, this is purely down to terrible in game decisions which have cost us the game, those decisions are down to ole and his coaches, I still can't get my head around him not taking Fred off, unbelievable.

Rohan, I have to disagree with a lot of what you’ve said there.

Rashford was injured.

Mctom was pretty solid, even when outnumbered.

VDB can consider himself unlucky but I think it would either have been him or Cavani that got dropped, and I quite like that we went all out with our front 3.

Pogba came on as a gamble when we were chasing the game. Not as solid defensively but can play a pass forward which is I guess what you need when you’re losing and a man down. Not sure what Dan James would have brought to the team at that stage.

Who else would you have had up against Neymar on the right? AWB did well.

Ole got the Fred call wrong, but it was a game we could have easily have had wrapped up by then if Martial hadn’t missed his two sitters. The perspective of a red card when you’re winning rather than losing is totally different. I’m with Remi - this United team have me tuning in each game now, as opposed to the chore it used to be only a couple of seasons back.

Tbh solskjaer was one of those calling for the 5 sub rule yet he did not make any change until after 74 minutes forced because Rashford was carrying a knock. It was naive and now Fred will miss the Leipzig game which will be like a final now. Yes Fred played well but come on every one could see he was being baited and Solskjaer should have protected him. I’m convinced he forgot he can make 5 subs in champions league games. His game management is poor. Dead man walking.

We often hear about players letting their manager down, but tonight we saw a group of players that were let down by their manger’s ineptitude. I genuinely feel sorry for each and every one of them, as although not everything they tried worked out, they all put in a good shift.

Team selection once again left a lot to be desired. How anyone could make changes to the side after the second half showing at Southampton really is beyond me. Given Ole’s defensive style though, I suppose it should have come as no surprise.

Fred. The yellow card was an absolute gift from the referee. Like all our Christmases coming early type gift. Leaving him on the pitch afterwards was akin to passing that gift straight to PSG. Leaving him on left him balancing on a tightrope and the PSG players were clearly trying to push him off. Neymar in particular as trying to wind him up constantly afterwards and it forced Fred to hold back. Tuchel no doubt had a word with the ref at half time too at a point when he was probably already second guessing his decision. Even a blind man could see that it was an accident waiting to happen. Sadly, the one man who needed to see it couldn’t.

Subs. Solskjaer seems unable to react to changes in the game until after it’s too late. What’s worse is that he then panicks and makes rash and random changes. Pogba on before VDB, Rashford off before Martial, Oghalo on? These just aren’t the kind of changes that a competent manager makes and by the end of the game we had no shape and half of the players looked like they had no idea what they were supposed to be doing. This cost us the third goal, which now means it’s statistically impossible for us to top the group. At this point however, I’m not sure I can even see us finishing second.

People keep talking about the players letting Ole down, but they’ve saved his job time and time again. How often has he looked certain for the chop only for the players to put in a big performance and keep him in the job for a while longer? I like Ole and I always will, but he is not management material, let alone Manchester United manager material. The sooner he goes, the better.
