I still don't believe sacking the manager will change a great deal, the players change, the managers change but the football remains the same.

Until there is real change higher up, proper football people in charge of the footballing aspects of the club. Then we will be doomed to repeat this cycle. Higher a manager, buy the wrong players, not back the manager, sack the manager rinse and repeat.

You'd be a fool to be confident that the next manager will be an intelligent choice, someone chosen with foresight and planning.
It'll either be the biggest "name" available, because firstly, no one making these decisions understands football. Secondly, the club won't pay to release a manager from a contract at another club. Otherwise we will see another ex-player such as Giggs or Rooney, if we're lucky maybe even Bruce or Hughes. Managers at least with tangible experience. However, I doubt many people in positions of power at the club actually even know these guys are ex-players as their knowledge of our club only goes as far back as when their employment started.

That all said I think it is time for Ole to go. I'm sick and tired of seeing his legacy dragged through the mud. Sick of seeing United "fans" come on here and on other media platforms and slag the guy off. He's doing his best, but evidently that isn't enough.

So you don't think learning how to play out from the back and pass out from the back under pressure from the opposition would not help us?

You don't think learning how to press the opposition in a coordinated fashion so they can't play through us would not help us?

Why would we go for Rooney or giggs when there is a manager who is free and available to be signed up and has proven to do both of the above? The club has constantly talked about pochettino being the right fit for the clubs culture and ethos. Honestly what has changed? he's available, Ole only came in as a caretaker so we could sign a manager like pochettino. No one is going to be up in arms if we get rid of ole and get pochetino.

Ole’s legacy will never be dragged through the mud, his playing legacy and managerial legacy will rightly be seperated.

Pochettino or Allegri seem obvious choices and bring in their own coaching team.

Both manager and players are at fault equally. Maguire, Lindelof are
not good enough (decent at its best) to lead a man utd backline. DDG has his own issues and still after so many years hesitates to come off the line to collect the ball. Backing players like Martial and Pogba is another managerial blunder.

Even if we bring the best of the best managers, we will struggle. Players needs to be changed as well.

I agree with all of that shappy, lads above are clueless to be honest.

But it's time to go for Ole, not just because I'm sick of his legacy being dragged through the mud, for me, that is cemented as a player. But ultimately he is not a very good coach, certainly not good enough for United and that's the main reason why I want to see him leave.

You must see that now. Thoroughly outdone last night.

Shapps, I'm starting to think that Ole has taken us as far as he can.
He has improved the attitude and work ethic in players, his signings have been decent and are not mercenaries.

However, do you honestly think the team or the players are improving under him?
I don't see an identity in this team. We are only good at counter attacks and rely mostly on individual brilliance from our forwards.

Our defensive organization is shambles. Most of the time we are playing as a disjointed team with players not knowing their specific role.

The goals we are conceding are shocking and are result of lack of organization or structure. Yesterday our defense was worth 200 million and the defenders looked lost.
Playing 5 at the back with 2 defensive midfielders.

DSG, what the players are capable of learning will depend on whether it is possible to teach them how to do something. Our biggest defensive issues is individual errors, it's not a case of players not having a tactical blueprint to work to, but that on too many occasions one or more of our defenders make basic defensive errors.

TrueRedDevil, I agree I think Ole isn't learning from his mistakes and we can't afford to keep letting him make them until he learns.

Ole took off Telles, left Shaw on, despite no games for weeks, then had to take Shaw off to bring Williams on. Then needing to score he brings Pogba on after all that has gone on. Then TFM and Tuanzebe. 5 defenders and we get caught wide, how can that happen. Just not good enough.

It just isn’t about dragging his legacy anywhere, just him out the front door. He will always be a playing hero but time was up a while ago. It will only make it worse if he stays on. If City win and they sack him that is far from ideal, it needs to happen today.

Ole ain't getting sacked anytime soon.

Telles has been at fault for a number of goals over the past few games, he lost Neymar for PSG's first goal last week, Soucek ran off him for the goal versus West Ham, and he was beaten in the air for Southampton's opener. While he lost Haidara for Leipzig's second goal. Four goals his fault in 5 games.

So I can understand why he was removed before Shaw.
