Ed, why would utd and pogba feature in the Soton v Lpool review? Utd now seem to be the go to for Lpool folks, 1st Klopp reverting to his default settings for when things go bad by counting utd's penalties and now this. Of all the soft penalties this season you could choose from, it had to be Pogbas. 🤔.

{Ed001's Note - it was the most similar. A player caught his leg, the same as Mane. It was purely that reason why it is being mentioned. At least it is the most similar I can remember, but that might simply be because it was recent. It wasn't meant as a dig at United as such, more the inconsistencies of referees, which was supposed to be removed with the addition of VAR.}

I get you. On the note of refereeing and VAR, what did you make of the Brentford's Dasilva sending off yesterday?

After the Villa game, all the opposition supporters were up in arms about the Pogba penalty incident. Everyone was crying out in unison saying it wasnt a penalty, United were lucky to get the penalty and the referee made a mistake. But now Liverpool supporters are saying a very similar incident involving Mane was a definite penalty and that the referee was wrong.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND WHAT IT REALLY IS?
If Pogba one was wrong then surely the referees should be praised for learning from their mistake.
I personally think that neither of the incidents was a clear cut penalty but there was something in it for the VAR to not overrule the refs decision.

BTW I am not directly having a go at Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - the point is that they are applying the rules differently in each game. They should either be penalties or not, but you can't say they are pens in 1 game but not another or it is unfair on all the teams involved. It is not about learning, it is about applying the rules fairly - which is what they should do. Learning should be done at the end of the season for the next one.}
