I don't want to jump the gun here, but if we should find ourselves fighting for the title come the resumption of the Europa League. I for one, would rather play squad players in the Europa league and focus on the league.

Given the issues with C. V and lkte tilly more games being rearranged, then those teams who are in less competitions will potentially be in a better position.

Of course it would be great to win the league, Europa league, league Cup and FA Cup. But that isn't realistic. It will be all about focusing on getting our priorities right.

I think it's the right time for us to stop thinking about all other cups and focus 100% on the league.
Maybe focus on the league cup as we are in the semis but other than that say FA Cup we shouldn't really care.

Only the league matters now, and we can go top if we win the next game, something we haven't had the luxury of since 6-7 years now.

We need to fill a gap or two and make sure we are winning the title.
If we go on a similar that we have been we will definitely be there or there abouts at the season end.

Agreed we are in a great position to go for the league. The options we have from the bench have made a huge difference to us this season, with Cavani winning us 3 points against Southampton and Martial coming off the bench to get a goal and assist to take us to a cup semi final. This is the strongest squad we’ve had for about 10 years.

We are 1 game away from a cup final so it makes total sense to play a full strength team there, and the. go for the 3 points in the league as much as we can.

There will be opportunities for youth and fringe players in the FA Cup and Europa. We have enough games to keep everyone sharp as and when they are needed. We will no doubt lose players to C.V. as the season goes on but we have enough squad depth to cope with that with a couple of players for every position.

Bring it on!

I don't think we will even finish second this year. Between Liverpool and City for Me. Liverpool have had injury to key players at the back and they are still top and 8n the CL.
I'd say we will be about 3rd.
And that mickey mouse cup we are in is nothing to get excited about either is the Thursday night football.
What I'm hoping for. Get in a few more good players in the summer and have a right good go at the league and CL. With a new manager but I'd say ole will be here again next season.

{Ed025's Note - i think you are doing your team down there leahy, they are playing as good as anyone and i think you have as good a chance of winning the league as anybody, and the league cup is still a top trophy in my book mate so i think your dislike of the manager is clouding your opinion there mate..

What makes you think we will win the league or make top 4? All trophies are important now that its been a while we won one.

I agree with Leahy, I don’t see us winning the league. I still think Liverpool win it by a good margin personally. I don’t think they have much better squad than us, just a much better manager.

Leahy, I agree both City and Liverpool look on paper far better equipped than us. Yet the game isn't played on paper and if we win against Burnley we will be above both of them on merit.

I think we have an opportunity this season that won't present itself too often.

To win the league in the past three years you would have needed over 97 points. This year as little as 85 might be enough. This team doesn't have the ability to jump from 66 to 97 points in one season. But we might be able to push to the mid 80's.

This gives us a chance to win the league that under normal circumstances wouldn't be there.

Ed025 my old friend good to see you on the page but I'd have to disagree with you. We aren't playing that good OK at times but still winning which is a good sign.
And believe it or not I don't dislike ole at all. Just don't think he is the man to take united forward.
