If we don't sign a RW on loan, do we keep lingard and play him on the right? Or do we give Diallo a chance?

Questions about Oles in game management were once again highlighted. I for one would have played VdB yesterday with Pogba and Bruno.

Cavani leads by example. Rashford, martial and Greenwood are hit and miss. Although Greenwood needs game time.

I'm sure Arsenal will be confident when they play us at the weekend.

I see Martial is getting the most stick and rightly so but what about golden boy Rashford he’s just as culpable, the pair of them have been abysmal this season. Watch all the Rashford lovers come out with the usual pathetic excuses. There are no excuses.

BR, that’s a bit unfair. Rashford has been pretty good this season and always seems to play well when played on the left. Stick him on the right and he’s bad, but that would be like playing Fred out there too - it’s not his natural position so he’s going to struggle. We saw against Liverpool at the weekend that he needs to be on the left to play well.

Rashford is still in double figures for the season and deserves the plaudits he gets. Martial is frustrating because he is even worse on the right so if he plays he is going to displace the slightly more versatile Rashford.

Also, yes he is the golden boy. I know you mean that as a criticism but he deserves all the praise he is getting. He’s not the brightest but has clearly seen that football is trivial compared to hunger poverty.

It’s easy for perspective to get lost in a football forum, but if the guy never kicked a ball again and focussed all his energy into feeding hungry kids, I’d be entirely happy with that, and actually even more impressed than I already am.

I’ll even go one further and say I’d take a ball never being kicked by anyone ever again if it meant an end to food poverty and hunger.

Rashford has 15 goals and 10 assists so far this season. He has been overplayed and has been run into the ground. Martial has 5 goals and 7 assists so far.

You can see why some us are happy to give Rashford a bit more leeway. Also Martial's playing style and general body language when he's not playing well is quite irritating for fans. Also Martial is 2 years older than Rashford so can't play the "potential" card with Anto as much. And lastly I think Martial isn't good enough for us to be playing ST.

Although I didn't watch the game last night I think people are overlooking the fact that we conceded 2 goals to the bottom team at home. Maybe we need to try and sure up the defence?

Rashford isn’t playing well yet is scoring record is 1 in 2 this season. I don’t think you can expect more from a winger.

Alty Jim we must be watching a different player. Always play well when on the left come on take the rose tinted glasses off. I just don’t think he’ll ever get to that next level, he’s too inconsistent. I just don’t know what he is, is he he a winger or a forward. I want to see wingers attack fullbacks like Coppell and Kanchelskis used to do and a proper centre forward should be getting 20+ a season which I don’t think he could do.

Rashford has been poor for a while now but is always excluded from criticism because of his off field activity, which while should be applauded, I think is taking his focus away from his job. Often makes wrong decision, greedy and needs to improve a lot to become the player everyone thinks he could be.

BR that’s football from another era. Fluidity and versatility is what a modern attacking player looks like.

Rashford is a good example of that and and stand by my statement of him playing well on the left. I can’t understand the criticism directed at him - he’s as good as Mane, Salah, Sterling and Mahrez this season but plays with an inferior squad. That’s without even considering his age.

Also, stop reducing all other points-of-view in a debate to things like ‘rose-tinted’ or ‘pathetic’. That’s not a constructive way to get your opinion across and encourages the sort of name-calling and partisan behaviour that plagues websites like these.

Our decision makers didn't get a RW, so we are having to accommodate Rashy on the right often.

But this comes back to the manager.

Firstly he is selecting Rashford when we can all see he needs a rest.

Secondly, we can all see that Sheffield are very compact in the middle so perhaps finding space out wide might be more productive.

So we have a right footer in Rashford on the right wing. Would it not be an idea to tell him to get past the wing back or between the wing back and the centre back then whip in some crosses?

Maybe Rashford prefers it on the left because he can come inside and shoot, but if he's going to be played o the right then at least take advantage of what what that enables him to do and read what is happening in the game.

I was surprised to see that Martial has 5 goals this season as well. Off the top of my head I can't recall any😂.
