How many of our sales would you consider to be a "fair and decent" price? Looking at the sale of players we have had over the last few years the only one that seems like a good deal (in terms of money) for United was CR7.

We are constantly selling players for less than we paid, we sell very few players on for profit.

This been said, the general consensus is to sell most of the following; Jones, Pogba, Bailly, DDG, Lingard, Andreas, Martial.

So how much do you genuinely believe we can get for each? Purely playing football manager, as I know they all demand high wages (our fault again) and there are other factors at play.

{Ed077's Note - we dont sell many players to other "top" clubs so most of the buying club cant afford to pay decent/huge transfer fee and the wages we pay the players. We also very rarely sell players that we deem good enough for us.

Lukaku to Inter ?
Young to Inter ?
Blind to Ajax?}

There are no decent prices in football, because of the TV money everything now is over inflated and the biggest clubs, like us will always get charged a premium price for a player. We are not the only club it happens to, just look at the biggest clubs in Spain.

Ed077 - Lukaku was less than we paid I believe? Young was just over 1mil, which even at 34/ 35 seems cheap. Blind was basically the same price as we had paid, so made little to no profit.

Your justification for as to why this is the case is spot on though.

{Ed077's Note - recouping most of what you paid for unwanted players is good business IMO. Lukaku and Blind weren't in the managers plan so the deal was fair in my view. Getting around 1m for around 34 yr Young who could have just signed a pre-contract with Inter is good deal for us no question. He was really bad for us if I should remind you.

We are not a buying and selling club so why does it matter?

Works great for clubs like Dortmund and a while back Atletico and that was their business model. Southampton is another example.

If we are selling players for huge fees it means there's still demand for them meaning they probably still have more to offer.

We (generally) buy players as they enter their peak and then move them on when they approach their expiry date. That rule doesn't apply to all players but it's generally how we've dealt with transfers for the past couple of decades.

Normally when you leave United, the only way is down apart from a handful of clubs. Unless you want to break records for our players, we don't sell if they are part of the managers plans.

Jonaldinho, I think this will likely be a funny summer for prices and we will not get for those players what previously we would have classed as good value. Jones/ Pereira may be a case of releasing on free's or at the very best a couple of million, neither have performed well in the past year or so and Jones medical record is shocking. Both De Gea and Pogba will likely get around £30m/ £40m for different reasons, Pogba as it is his last year I just don't think the market will be there to get much more. De Gea has dropped from his best in the past years and with the C.V. situation clubs will not be spending big on him, we can hope for a battle maybe between PSG And Juve who are the ones likely to want to upgrade.
Martial/ Bailly and Lingard I genuinely believe will still be here next year. We will not be spending big on a striker with other needs more pressing and when he plays well is worthy of a place, Bailly offers a good option at the back with his pace so I would expect him and Lindelof to be the main switch options. Lingard I think will come back rejuvenated which appears to be what OGS wanted for this loan, still a rotation player I see OGS wanting to keep him around.
