Good result last night but another poor performance in my opinion.

Just got me thinking that being a forward in this current team does not look to be an enjoyable experience at the moment, good chances are hard to come by.

Cavani against brighton, mason last night hardly had a sniff at goal. It is no surprise that our two top goalscorers, bruno (who takes penalties) and rashford (is able to create chances on his own, feed off scraps) are the only players consistently scoring.

Which brings me onto the summer, lots of talk about haaland but i give it about 5 minutes before his agent is piping up about the lack of chances created for him up top and noises start circulating about him wanting to move elsewhere where chanes are easier to come by.

This is what I have been saying for a while on here, while Martial certainly isn't a top class striker (despite having the talent to be) .

The real issue is we create very little. Everything goes through Bruno or is a cross from Shaw. Other than that? Zip, nada not a bean.

James is good at getting behind high line defences but his end product is patchy. If Greenwood or Rashford get on the ball their first instinct is to find the path to goal for themselves.

As the season has worn on and Bruno has become more obviously fatigued our ability to create has dwindled.

That is why for me a creative wide player is a far more important summer signing than a ST.

DSG - Last night was absolutely pathetic in my opinion. A complete bore fest totally devoid of any rhythm, tempo or intensity.

In my opinion Utd have benefited hugely from the absence of fans in stadiums. It has enabled Ole to play a brand of soulless, unimaginative, negative football. The ends justify the means for Ole as results have been decent but this brand of football is unsustainable.

I remember a thread last week about someone complaining of too much football on TV. From a personal perspective I’d loved watching all the different teams but perhaps the saddest indictment of too much football on TV is if I wasn’t a Utd fan I definitely wouldn’t watch any of our games.

We have been treated to a thrilling week of Champions League football yet Utd v Granada only illustrated the gulf in quality and glamour between the two competitions. I can’t think of any neutral who would have sat through 90 minutes of that rubbish last night.

Like I’ve said a thousand times Ole is prioritising results over performances. He is always one game away from a crisis and he has always been nearer the sack than building something sustainable at Old Trafford.

Utd fans aren’t stupid, despite a good result last night we all know the performance was horrific.

We spent the best part of £80m on VdB and Diallo last summer yet despite being 1-0 up and in control of a game against European minnows who’s entire squad cost only £8m to assemble Ole decided to introduce Matic and only give VdB an embarrassing 5 minutes at the end of one of the worst games of football I’ve seen in a long term.

Results are papering over the cracks and the writing is on the wall.

2-0 away from home in any European tie is always a very good result.

But we're 3 years into the managers reign and the football is absolutely appaling. A decent RW and ST won't change the way we play, it will improve our results slightly because better players will do that. But in terms of how we set up, our movement, our patterns. They are non existent. It's clearly evident that right now we have a football manager in Charge who is a woeful coach.

Out Or previous managers were hammered for poor football and this is just as bad as peak LvG and peak Jose. And both of them had inferior squads.

It's very hard to watch.

2 nil is a great result in terms of going into the semi final.
At least we are back to winning.
Its not pretty its dull but its the business end of the season so I'm not going to get on oles back while we are keeping clean sheets and finding a way to win.

Odd perspective there its a case of job done last night.
Few negative points that might be valid but have very little to do with the match and are off little relevance .

Professional away performance in Europe, 2-0 win, clean sheet, job done.
