If Cavani goes and Haaland is unattainable what is the opinion of Ronaldo coming back for 2 years?

Personally I don't see Haaland ever coming to Utd and will move around Europe like Zlatan.

I don't see many options and not sure Greenwood is ready.

I'd be kind of delighted but equally skeptical.

Just a bit of a fun, what if.

There's a few rumours he could be off at the end of the season and Real Madrid looking at him as a stop gap if Mbappe doesn't happen.

Personally I don't think Ronaldo coming back is a good idea, his cost would be astronomical and I'm not sure he would have as big an impact is such a physical league like the EPL anymore.

Serie A is much slower paced and less physically demanding, and even then you can see the drop off in his impact. Plus he picks up a few niggly injuries.

Personally I think Greenwood is ready to start playing a bigger role as a striker rather than wide right.

He will never be ready to play as a striker if we don't play him as a striker. He needs to learn the role, but there is no school to send him to learn, he must learn to walk the walk by walking the walk.

Too old too costly and won't work hard enough pressing to help defend.

{Ed077's Note - Do we press that much though?}

Can’t see a mega move for Haaland or Kane or Ronaldo bless him, but the teenager Greenwood is nowhere near ready to be Utd’s main man up front. I suspect a bargain swoop for a lesser known player or another short term deal with a more affordable journeyman.

Its a tough position to play up front for united. No chance of haaland at all imo. Kane is a remote possibility but highly unlikely. I can see him going to poch and psg if he leaves which in turn could see mpappe clear to go to Madrid.
It will be an interesting summer I can see a mad shampooing scramble after the euros and approaching deadline day.

Spenno, what age was the teenager Rooney ready to play, when was the teenager Ronaldo ready, when was the teenager Giggs ready, when was the teenager Best ready, when was the teenager Rashford ready?

Haaland turned 20 this season, Sancho, Mbappe and Junior Vinicius all played regularly for top sides while still teenagers, Greenwood turns 20 in October.

What ever happened to the "if you're good enough you're old enough" mantra that has been synonymous with our club.

Rashford was playing most weeks for us when he was Greenwoods age.

cant see a mega priced frontman to be fair - andre silva, or some big powerful alternative like the young lad at fiorentia with a face like a welders bench - sebian i think.

Shappy I am not referring to Greenwood's age as being the problem. He is simply not in the class of any of the other players you mention. Not even close.

I agree he needs to play Shappy, but we need an out and out striker as well. He can play right and gain valuable game time. Lots of opportunities for him to play 9 as well. But not good idea to pile the pressure of being the only 9 at the club.

He is in the class of those players. He is top draw and looking forward to seeing what he becomes.
