I don’t like this proposal as is, I doubt anyone would support it outside the owners. However negotiations don’t start with the initially offered position, so I will not say I no longer support my club like some have. I have been around too long to do that. I will wait and see what the end result is. You already know my thoughts on the owners.

The idea that it was a working mans game disappeared years ago, it is a very expensive hobby for those who have a couple of grand a year spare. The automatic cup scheme was something I spoke about on here, forcing more money out of ST holders whether you liked it or not. Many ignored the disgusting way it was done despite the nature of it.
People ignored the owners takeover, even recently supporting them on here, telling me they were good owners, had invested money when they hadn’t put a cent in. Now look at it, I bet few think they are such good owners now, but it has taken the ultimate greed of the ESL to make some wake up. People ignored the lack of investment in the stadium, the same crammed toilets, long queue at the bar for drinks at prices you wouldn’t pay in a nightclub. Greed, sheer greed. People ignored that when Ronaldo was sold the money wasn’t properly reinvested, ignored that the cash prevented them posting a loss.

Fans didn’t look at the direction the club was heading in after the leveraged buyout, they just saw SAF perform miracles, they ignored the no value comments. Now, hopefully they can see the owners for what they really are.

Completely agree, which is why i find the government intervention on this matter to be laughable. They really should keep minding their own business and keep their nose out such issues as they did in 2000-2010 when the glazers, roman abrahmovic and Abu Dhabi got involved with english football.

Totally agree Red Man I’ve said the same for years. The Glazers are leeches. They are probably the worst thing to happen to our great club.

I'm not surprised. We let venture capitalists into the game and feign shock when they make aggressive market moves. I'm just surprised by the brass neck of it.

The slippery slope started when we were brought for the sole intention of printing money for our owners. This opened a lot of greedy peoples eyes. There was a reason why the previous board rejected so many take over bids before the glazers brought all the shares they could. Did the board express these fears to the PL? Why did the PL allow a leveraged take over that plunged their biggest cash cow into debt?

No doubt football needed restructuring but this is not the way. You earn what you get. The highs and lows are what makes this sport. Lack of relegation and promotion is pointless. Why bother getting to the Prem now? To make up the numbers against the big 6 "b" teams. Yeah, that's the dream every fan has his club.

They clubs should have sat down and smashed UEFA around until the champions league had a format that a majority agreed with. Then we might beleive it's about football. They can't say "We are giving fans bigger games on a regular basis" when none of the fans can afford to go Madrid one week, Milan the next etc on a regular basis. We ain't all Ken Rockafella!

If it goes through as proposed and no concessions are made about other teams joining and dropping out, I think I'll be done with the sport. I can't even go support my local team Luton. Who are just building a brand new stadium to try and push themselves to the next level. Challenge for the play offs. Get promoted to the big boy league after missing out barely when it was formed and then What? A glass ceiling. There won't be a European competition to play in (not one worth it's salt anyway) and they definitely ain't going to win the league. These 12 clubs have taken away the end game of every smaller club and it makes me furious.

I love the club but I really fell in love with the history and values. I saw United trying to compare this to Busby taking it us into Europe in the 50s and its made me feel sick. Never heard that Sir Matt told Europe they should be in it very year after Munich! He rebuilt the club and Munich and 68 is the foundation this club is built on. Rising up to take on the go boys again. My Grandad would turn in his grave if he realised they had used Sir Matt's memory to force a farce of a competition onto fans.
