I have railed against the Glazers since they bought the club with other people's money, siphoning off cash flow to service debt, rather than to reinvest in players of the same quality as Scholes, Giggs, Keane, Ronaldo etc. Sure, as the debt to stock value ratio has improved, they started investing in players again, albeit with a total lack of nous under the guidance of the inexperienced and incompetent accountant, Ed Woodward. And I still believe we have Ole, who is doing okay if not great, because there were no top managers out there who believe in their project and want to work for them.

You see the similarities between us and Arsenal, both owned by Americans whose goal is primarily financial.

So, I have sympathy for the protesters, but like those who stretched out the protests against police brutality in the US, ad infinitum, there are useful ways and there are useless ways. The invasion of OT today must surely rank as one of the most useless protests of all time. The ESL is already on the back burner or even further back. The Glazers don't give a toss what a bunch of hooligans think. Nothing is gained from letting Glazer hate supersede United love.

Illegal protests, this was trespassing, they should have been arrested, especially the ones who stole the corner flags. Protests should have been outside the ground. They probably were not kept out because of shortfalls in security. Why was there not sufficient security to protect the ground given they must have known about these protests? Were the club cheap skating on security?

Today, there are rumours that Adidas are concerned about falling shirt sales, the owners may care more about the implications of that.

{Ed0666's Note - it would have taken a real show of force to arrest all these guys that got onto the pitch. I think the police wanted to escalate the situation especially as there covid risks also

I'm not sure what I think of the 'invasion' but the impact of getting the game cancelled is huge and adds volume to the anti glazer protests.

{Ed014's Note - for me it’s wasted, better protest is to ensure empty stadiums continue after fans are allowed to return.

Boycott the merchandise shops and hit them the only place it hurts, financially.

Those images will be beamed around the world now. I'm not in total agreement with what the fans did today but sometimes they have to go that bit further (getting into the ground) to make their point. History tells us that.

I hope no one was injured, no arrests were made and the fans made their point. I hope they continue with protests but peaceful ones outside the ground.

{Ed014's Note - they will be but as always the tv will show fans damaging property and those within the ground drinking from bottles of beer whilst taking selfies!

Ensure Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates are empty after fans are allowed to return would be the huge turning point and that show of going that bit further.

You got it ed014. More than one way to skin a cat. Anarchy is not the way. Despite the vast majority being Paavo peaceful and law abiding today's protest only gives those clowns a platform to undermine the protest.
Create a real movement to hit them financially its all they know and care about.

Ed014 I don't think we could hurt the club financially fron the UK. If regular match goers stopped going there would be plenty others who would fill their shoes. As far as merchandise the worldwide sales would be colossal compared to us in the UK. Today local fans have managed to derail a game and create a massive disturbance for the club, surely the glaziers will hear about it? Will they care, I'm not so sure but if these acts continue maybe they will take greater notice of the fans concerns going forward.

{Ed014's Note - just think it has to be financial to have any effect Simon, would love to see the stadiums empty.

That’s a huge thing to organise I know but for me that’s the way forward.

Or maybe when the grounds are full of fans there could be a vocal disturbance to let the whole world know how we feel about the glaziers? I'm sure voices would be heard around the world with anti glazier chants/ songs. Imagine 76.000 voices at OT, although maybe not ideal for the team🤔.

I remember plenty of anti glazer chants and times when the stadium had a decent covering of green and yellow, it doesn't do anything.

Empty seats on TV will look horrific. Won't hurt their pocket as most will be season ticket.

I'm torn on today yet the game was called off, the club's name will be in the mud with sponsors, advertisers and bookies. That will hurt over time and reduce sponsorship.

I won't lie part of me hopes this happens at every game until they go, don't really care if they get called off, they're all dead rubbers. Honestly I have been barely interested since ESL and only felt emotionally invested last week when we were 1-2 down last, really wanted Ole and the lads to break the semifinal funk.


I think after today this is the start and many could be attracted to attending future events especially as it warms up and pubs reopen. Could easily see 20k there in future weeks.
