I don't know if this has been said before, or if anyone agrees. but I would personally prefer we went for Allan Saint maximin and Eberechi Eze over Jadon Sancho. I've always thought Sancho has been overrated, never seen anything that special from him. Let me know your thoughts guys.

{Ed0666's Note - Eze I concur but Saint Maximan?? Are you sure...

When we played Newcastle at St James, when the younger Longstaff brother scored I was sat in the Geordie end (kept my feelings to myself throughout that game) . Saint Maximin absolutely tore us apart, he was so exciting to watch and you could feel the buzz around the stadium as soon as he got the ball.

Despite this, I think he is a bit part player, turns up every now and again. He reminds me of a fast Ben Arfa, all the talent in the world but will never be good enough week in week out.

I haven't seen enough of Elanga from our U23's but from what I have seen, he looks like he could be just as good as Eze for our squad. Especially combined with Diallo, Greenwood. We need someone who is top top quality if we are bringing anyone in for RW, Sancho in my opinion is exactly that.

If Greenwood maintains his form and Amad Diallo has a good few run of games towards the end of the season, I really don't know why we would still push for a RW as priority. Amad is only one year younger than Greenwood so he should really be pushing for more game time.

I feel like there are other areas of the squad I would rather address before we go anywhere near Jadon Sancho.

I feel that Sancho is who OGS/ the club want and continue to want from last year, we seem to always be a year removed signing players from when we go in for them.
If we do get Sancho it will be interesting to see what then happens with Greenwood/ Diallo/ Martial, it could be that we are strong in depth and could rotate much more than we did this year. ALso, will depend on formation we move to (433 switching to 1 HM rather than the double pivot)

Saint Maximim - He's always in and out of games and is nowhere near consistent enough. I would take Sancho and Greenwood over him all day long, they are much better players and have a lot more to there game. Newcastle would be looking for upwards of 50 million for him and he isn't worth it.

Saint Maximin is a limited Luis Nani.

With Greenwood, Cavani, Rashford, Bruno and even Pogba we are looking like a team that carries a wide variety of threats, which will make us more difficult to defend against. Unless we can move Martial on I don't see either money or playing time being available for another very expensive forward. Our primary intentions must surely be strengthening in the central defensive and midfield positions. We all know where the upgrades would be most useful, and we are all pretty much agreed on which players do not or should not have a first team future at OT.

Eze is not a rw nor central and maximin is predominantly lw and a bit of a flake.
Sancho is imo streets ahead of both. I'm not saying he is the only option but he is a far better rw option than 2 players that don't play there only my opinion of course.
There are other alternatives to sanch but he is the guy ole wants by all accounts.

Sancho is a very good player, pretty much has hit double figures for goals and assists every season at dortmund. Granted the bundesliga can inflate attacking players stats (werner, mkhitaryan, havertz, kagawa, schurlle etc) . But he's only 21 and has plenty of room for improvement.

On Eze, he really should have been signed from QPR, i don't know which one of our scouts looked at the talent in the championship and thought Dan James was the best forward available in that league. Apart from running fast in a straight line, i don't see what james offers an attack.

The reality is if we are going out for the best then Sancho is head and shoulders above anyone else we could get. Whether he could do it in the EPL (which is tougher than the Bundesliga) obviously remains to be seen. But no one else we are linked to in any league has scored and assisted as many as Sancho has over the past two years.

The issue will obviously be price, Sancho at 100m or someone else at 50m doesn't make much sense going for Sancho.

But Sancho at 75-80m as opposed to someone else at the 50m does start to make more sense. However, that's only if the budget will stretch.

Shappy - with Cavani in the bag for another year we can maybe leave the central striking position until season 22-23.
I would be going all out for Sancho and if we could grab Declan Rice and Pau Torres along the way it would be a great summer of additions but i am being greedy.
Get rid or Mata, Lingard, Romero, Jones, Dalot, Pereira and a few other players that are on the verge of the first team and this would generate a few quid.
