After calming from the frustrating game, just two points. De Gea deserves praises for his top class save today, otherwise we lose the game for me and second, Maguire, oh my God, he is so slow, one footed, gives hospital passes when playing out from the back if pressurised. And not for the first time his booking today showed how bad he is when a fast players attack him. I really think Varane and Lindelof would be the better partnership.

Redcon, I know Maguire didn't have a good game today and doesn't look 100% yet but how short is your memory?

Last season Lindelof was bullied so many times and can't handle anything in the air. Not only that but Harry was arguably the 2nd/ 3rd best defender at the Euros. He isn't just suddenly terrible.

Lindelof and Varane could work if Lindelof can improve on the physical side of his game. He also tends to put in weak challenges and players manage to go straight past him with much ease.

Varane has to be the no 1 choice. His partner be it Maguire or Lindelof should be picked on form.

Lindelof has been at the club for almost 5 years and hasn't evolved into a reliable defender.

Maguire has always taken a few games to get up to speed, the start of last season he was poor and then suddenly settled and had a very good season. He was the only player to start the behind closed doors game that started against Leeds so he obviously feels himself that he needs more game time to get up to speed, like a few others as well, like Shaw who hasn’t really got going yet.

I’m sure they will, quite a few of the England squad from the Euro’s have been a little slow to get going.

I don’t really need to tell you the difference between the summer that shaw and Maguire had and the one Reece James had Ken do I? The other 2 didn’t play every game either, you don’t have to argue with everything I say you know? It’s getting a bit scary now.

I wasn’t giving an excuse, just saying some of the England players haven’t hit the ground running yet. Pep hasn’t even given Stones a minute for example, Philips wasn’t ready for the united game, Rice looked totally off the pace last week, don’t need to say much about Kane, they all came back late so it’s not a huge surprise they aren’t quite up to speed, nothing a few games won’t sort out like it did last season though.
